With The No. 3 Pick In The 2010 NFL Draft …

January 3rd, 2010

Joe likens his NFL Draft coverage to Robin Meade. Powerful, fantastic and satisfying.

It’s officially NFL Draft season!

It doesn’t compare to the regular season, but it’s a lot of fun and very serious business on JoeBucsFan.com.

Unless there is some bizarre statistical anomaly that Joe is unaware of, the Bucs have the No. 3 pick courtesy of the Chiefs pounding of the Broncos this evening.

Joe is committed to providing readers with stellar NFL Draft coverage like he did in 2009.

Courtesy of the Tampa Bay area’s premier draft guru, Justin Pawlowski, of 620 WDAE-AM, Joe likes to think last year’s NFL Draft coverage here was absolutely unmatched. Feel free to check it all out

Readers who bought the $10 draft subscription were treated to fabulous daily coverage for the 10 weeks leading up the draft and post-draft analysis — podcasts, mock drafts, interviews and more.

Joe hopes to live up to that high standard again.

With the 3rd pick inthe 2010 draft the buccaners select eric berry s/tennessee

  2. Sinfonian Says:

I agree with zech, Berry is most likely if the Bucs don’t trade up. But I don’t see Suh to St. Louis as a done deal. They’re desperate for a QB (or they should be!), and if they see someone they like (Colt McCoy? Jimmy Clausen?), they know they can get him at #3 because Detroit obviously won’t draft a QB. If they can get the Bucs’ 1st and 2nd round picks and only have to fall two spots and STILL get the QB they want, it’s a no-brainer for them.

Of course, if the Rams DO want Suh, we’re screwed….

  3. Louie Says:

Bucs have WAY TOO MANY needs to trade up. In fact, I wouldn’t be upset to see them trade to stockpile even more picks.

  4. Cody Says:

Am I the only person that watched the Tennessee/Va Tech bowl game? Berry is highly overhyped. #3 is too high for a Safety, especially with two elite DT’s at the top of this draft.

  5. Mr. Lucky Says:

St Louis HAS to take Claussen – just like Detroit got suckered into Stafford.

    Detroit will likely take Suh

That leaves the Bucs @ #3 to pick either Berry or McCoy.

this is gonna be a tough decision

I wonder who Bill Cowher likes better?

  6. jon traskal Says:

I think that that lions will draft ERIC BERRY at #2 and the bucs will get Mccoy

  7. JDouble Says:

I think by the time the draft gets here, Okung and Haden will be ranked higher than McCoy or Berry.

We already have a great FS in Tarnard Jackson….why take Berry? At 5’11” 198lbs, do you really think he will be an effective SS in the NFL? Is he gonna strike fear into recievers oacross the middle? Is he gonne stuff the run when RBs outweigh him my 20-30 lbs? He may be a great FS, but a guy that is barely bigger than Ronde Barber will not be a great SS.

At this point I hope we take Haden or trade back to the middle of the round and pick up a player or more draft picks.

  8. D-money Says:

The 3rd pick is way to high to take a saftey. Many of the best Safties in the NFL have come from late first round and later picks. If you want an upgrade from Sabby I’m sure one can be found in the second or third round.

    A few examples….

    John Lynch 3rd round
    Tanard Jackson 4th round
    Bob Sanders 2nd round
    Brian Dawkins 2nd round

Even Ed Reed wasn’t even taken until the 24th pick in the first round.

3rd overall would be a huge reach for Berry.

  9. Fatsacks Says:

Tj is perfectly fine for our fs spot! Lets not forget that we will have our hard hitting ss back next year in phillips! We better be looking at Suh,Mccoy or even Cody..we have to have someone thats going to use there weight and not try and arm tackle every running back that comes thru the middle every week like they do. With 10 picks i think we more enough to help statify some LARGE CAPS that we have with this team…and with that 2nd rd pick im praying we see some kinda of wr with that pick…somebody with speed and size!

  10. zech Says:

Everybody berry is the best person in the draft according to todd mcshay and I agree sabby stinks and he would be a huge up grade for us

  11. Smooothie41 Says:

We need to trade down to get more picks….Just please get rid of Sabby!!!!!!!!!!!!!
