Jermaine Phillips May Not Return

January 11th, 2010

While most people were watching that Arena Football League game played on a 100-yard field last night between the Packers and the Cardinals, Joe got a text tipping him off to the Jermaine Phillips incident.

Per Colleen Jenkins of the St. Petersburg Times, Phillips was Tiger Woods’ed.

Bucs safety Jermaine Phillips was jailed Sunday, accused of choking his wife after she questioned him about a woman’s phone number she found in his cell phone.

Something tells Joe that may be one of the last times he types his name.

Phillips barely hung onto the Bucs this past year. He was such a solid strong safety, the injury-prone Phillips was moved to linebacker.

After it was obvious the linebacker experiment wasn’t working out and after Tanard Jackson was suspended to start the season, Raheem the Dream moved him back to strong safety, almost as an act of desperation.

Then Phillips got hurt. Again.

After the incident on Sunday morning, Joe would be marginally surprised of Phillips is in a Bucs jersey this fall. This could get very ugly for Phillips.
