Geno Hayes Late To Game, Late To Play

December 28th, 2009

As Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune pointed out yesterday during the Bucs upset over the Saints, Geno Hayes first took the field three minutes into the second quarter.

He was late playing because he was late. He missed the team bus to the Superdome, documents Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times.

It may have worked out in the long run. Hayes was so contrite about his tardiness, he felt he had plays to make up and as a result played like a madman.

Hayes, who committed this infraction for the second time this season, was conciliatory.

“I feel like I let my team down,” Hayes said.

As a result, he played like he had something to prove.

“The attitude was a little more enthusiasm because I really felt bad,” he said.

Hayes also was late to the CITS in the first week of the season.

Joe trusts Hayes recent battles with being punctual have nothing to do with a pair of scissors.
