Cadillac Unhappy With His Role

December 6th, 2009

Joe’s going to line up some evidence for you.

First, Cadillac Williams told Joe exclusively in training camp that he wasn’t so sure the 2009 Bucs offense would be better than Chucky’s.

Second, Raheem The Dream told the Dallas media how Derrick Ward was selling the three-back rotation earlier this season. At that time, Joe speculated it was Cadillac who needed to be convinced, since Earnest Graham is the ultimate team guy and Ward was coming from a share-the-load system.

Today, Bucs icon John Lynch, the FOX color analyst for the Bucs-Panthers game, told viewers that he met with Cadillac and the tailback is “not liking” the running back rotation and feels like he “can’t get a rhythm.”

Joe loves Cadillac and respects him immensely, and he was pleased to see him today have his best game since opening day against Dallas. But Cadillac hasn’t been happy all season.

And it’s not like Antonio Bryant’s give-me-the-damn-ball unhappy. Cadillac just isn’t buying into the system and now he’s talking about it in broadcast briefing meetings.

The guy wants to carry the load when he hasn’t produced much and has a history of injury. Joe’s not sure where the Bucs running game goes from here.

I am …errrr was a HUGE advocate of drafting Carnell !….and as a day 1 Buc fan his was the first jersey I ever bought to wear myself …(not really a jersey kind of guy)…..to the point…..he does not have the leg explosion that was his hallmark before the 2 blown patellas…he is now a typical ham and egger NFL 4 year RB vet

I am not sure the Bucs anticipated Caddy getting healthy so quickly… and staying health. Ward was going to be the number one guy. Like Caddy, I am not buying into this 2-3 back combo. I like Caddy but think it might be time to see if he has some takers in the offseason.

Bull. I don’t think any of the three have been given a chance to be successful. Given the current status of our offense and the fact that not one but all three have not been given a chance to get into any sort of a rhythm so how could anyone evaluate what kind of talent any of them has. Are any of them Jones-Drew? No. Are they Ladell Betts? No. The only ham-n-egger we have is maybe Graham as this was his role before getting a chance to show his talent. Are O just sucks and has no Identity as in the past. We all knew we were a run-first team before this season. Now noone knows what the hell we are.

This is just another product of Inept Coaches & Play Calling. Bryant, Caddy, Faine all unhappy. The defense is happier now that Bates is gone but the O has the same problem. To solve a problem you have to get to the root of it. You can’t keep treating symptoms. The Bucs need someone like Mike Holmgren to take over as president of the team. bring Chucky back and demote Raheem to DC where he belongs. Dominick can work as GM under Big Mike. I don’t think Weis is the answer on offense, but he is better than Olie the Idiot.

Sgt Mike, I agree with you except “how could anyone evaluate what kind of talent any of them has.” These guys have been in the league for several years and put together a resume of work. I hope we can find a new OC in the offseason so we can start to build the Bucs identity on offense. One that can get the production out of our backs like they have proven they can provide.

Flash back to the beginning of the season, “best trio of running backs in the NFL” and “should have a powerful running game” what the hell happened can any body tell me?

  7. Cody Says:

The problem is they paid too much money for a # 2 running back and now they want to try and squeeze some return out of that money. Ward was nothing more than a change of pace back in NY and lucked into a weak free agency class for running backs last year. Caddy should know better than anyone that he can’t carry a full workload on those peiced together knees. He also knows though that he’s playing for a contract and every carry Ward takes from him could be costing him in the offseason.

When Ward was with the giants he was part of their “earth wind and fire triple running back attack, and the Bucs thought they were gonna have it with caddy ward and graham?

  9. bucsfanlostiniowa Says:

By the way was Ward earth wind or fire? Cause to me he looks like dirt breeze or spark!

well if they were supposed to be earth wind and fire…than graham should be our jacobs….ward should be the change of pace guy…and caddy should be the 3rd back as bradshaw….sounds good to me as our best running back e.g. is withering away in this ridiculous offense…..all hail e.g. the best runner on the freakin team….adam from ny
