Derrick Brooks Co-Hosting “The Red Zone”

October 16th, 2009

Programming note Joe just stumbled upon:

Former Bucs linebacker great and current BSPN NFL analyst Derrick Brooks is co-hosting “The Red Zone” this afternoon from 1-3 p.m. on Sirius NFL Radio with Ross Tucker. It can be heard on Sirius Channel 124.

Joe has heard Brooks on local radio for years. Joe’s not sure if he’s been coached up by the people at BSPN or if Tucker knows what buttons to push on Brooks, but Joe has never heard Brooks as enthusiastic as this.

It’s good radio. Brooks is not holding back on criticism like Chucky does on BSPN.

heard the first hour during lunch. Derrick sounds like he’s having fun and I really enjoyed listening to his insights. I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed Ross Tucker either… sirius NFL radio has so many good analysts, i’m amazed ESPN has not cherry picked more of them… it was weird hearing Brooks talk about facebook though..

    leningan:

Did you hear, I believe it was a caller from Tampa, say to Brooks about how cool it is to talk to a 12-time Pro Bowler and Tucker says, “What, so my 24 starts don’t mean that much to you?”

  3. leningan Says:

yeah, that was great… i really think i prefer Ross to any of the others although Gil is fun as well.

  4. JK Says:

Joe, What criticism from Chuky are you referring to?

  5. leningan Says:

i think it was the lack of criticism to which joe referred

    Exactly.

  7. JK Says:

Joe, I apologize. I don’t understand. Please explain. What exactly is it that Chuky, I mean Chucky should critisize. I’m sorry for some of my grammar. I realize how all knowing and smart Joe, I mean Admin is. Anyway you seem to have all the answers. Please explain the critical critisizing that Gruden isn’t doing if you can to someone as simple as me. And by the way the next time your under Joel and Bryan’s desk tell them I said hello will you.
