Leftwich Thinks Bucs “Four Or Five Plays” Away

September 20th, 2009

Bucs beat up quarterback Byron Leftwich was able to talk on the Bucs radio network after the game and he’s of the opinion that Bucs are “four or five plays” away from being a good team.

“They played better than us but it came down to four or five plays, just like last week,” Leftwich said after the Bucs loss to the Bills. “It came down to four or five plays.

“We’re getting better, but we have to find a way to win these games.”

Leftwich thought the Bills defense in the second half was the deal-breaker.

“They did a great job of slowing us down in teh second half,” Leftwich said. “When you are in third and long all the time, it is tough in this league. We have to do a better job. When we were in third and medium, we converted. When you are in third and long, you can’t make a living in this game doing that.

“We still have 14 games to go. We have a good team. We have to be ready to play. If we can change four or five plays, we can play with anybody.”
