Bryant’s Bum Knee = Bucs Pain

September 11th, 2009

The Bucs passing game, or lack thereof, could be critical for the Bucs success this season.

Peter King, of SI.com believes the Bucs passing game will hurt so long as Antonio Bryant’s knee hurts. King all but writes the Bucs will suffer big time this weekend in the season-opener against Dallass.

In King’s “Ten Things” to watch this week, he is watching Bryant.

Antonio Bryant’s leg.The $9 million wideout (yes, Tampa Bay actually is paying this inconsistent receiver that much on a one-year deal) won’t be right after missing all four preseason games and most summer practices following minor knee surgery. It doesn’t help that Byron Leftwich’s other target, Michael Clayton, has a sore hammy. Dallas is catching Tampa Bay at the right time.

If Bryant can’t play that pretty much takes away the Bucs long-distance passing game which is what Raheem the Dream wants which is why Jeff Jagodzinski was fired which is why Byron Leftwich is starting which is why Luke McCown was traded to Jacksonville.
