You Decide

August 20th, 2009

Watch the video of the alleged victim in the alleged Aqib Talib sucker punchfest.

Joe hates to be so cold. But this guy sure doesn’t seem smart enough to concoct a story like this. Although Joe’s not exactly seeing where he has a bruise or bump on the back of his head, despite the tight camera work on his sweaty dome.

Heard on 620 WDAE-AM this afternoon, Raheem The Dream didn’t sound like a head coach who believed Talib was just an innocent victim of an elaborate scam.

Joe, as he wrote earlier, is very confident the other guys in the cab with Talib, apparently Bucs players, will be completely truthful about the incident. If they say Talib hit the cabbie, Talib’s season and his wallet will take a big hit.

Why exactly would the Steelers want Johnson?

Big Ben, hurt in camp today. Any Questions? Send Leftwich back to Pittsburgh for a 3’rd round pick.

Granted, Talib was drunk, but from media reports on the cabbie’s side of the story, there is no motive for the attack. Even most drunks need some impetus to fly out of control. I just don’t believe that anyone, even Talib, would suddenly start striking a driver from behind while on an interstate. That’s a death wish.

Also, I don’t think concocting a story like this is too elaborate a scam: an eight year-old could come up with this scenario.

As for Raheem the Dream, it definitely behooves him to treat this matter seriously in the media, both for discipline’s sake and PR.

Though I guess we will see how this plays out.

With the rash of NFL bad publicity – Plaxico, Stallworth, Vick, et al., I say we return to the days of Tony Dungy – no tolerance.

Talib – pack your bags and head to Cincy where 1/2 the team has a current rap sheet.

I’d rather the Bucs cut Talib then keep this violent thug on the team. SERIOUSLY

      Mr. Lucky…Amen!!

Everybody is entitled to a second chance, but at what point do you decide to cut your losses and say good ridance to bad trash?

      This would be that point.

Get a decent draft pick for him before he totally ruins his marketability by killing somebody!
