Earnest Graham May Have Had A Setback

August 22nd, 2009

Speculation is swirling around Earnest Graham’s latest injury. TBO.com reported earlier that he’ll sit out tonight’s game after “tweaking” an ankle.

How serious is the injury?

Graham missed six games last season with a high ankle sprain and ligament damage. It took him several months to recover.

Bucs beat writer Woody Cummings, speaking on NFL Radio this morning, said the Bucs are unsure whether his current injury is related to the previous one. But Cummings spoke as if it’s the same ankle that was injured last year.

Cummings offered no details as to the severity of the injury.

Joe can’t help but wonder if Graham’s rather invisible performance in Tennessee last week had anything to do with the ankle.

UPDATE 5:14 p.m. – Speaking from the Jacksonville press box, Cummings said Graham will play tonight. Good news.

UPDATE 7:16 p.m.: Just announced that Graham will not play. Bad news.

We have plenty of talent at that position. If he is going to fumble the ball and be injury proned Huggins would likely love to be his replacement.
