Derrick Brooks Heading To New Orleans

August 11th, 2009

The dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, “The Big Dog,” Steve Duemig, is reporting via his Facebook account that Derrick Brooks has been called by the New Orleans Saints. He’s on his way to the Big Easy to work out for the Bucs’ NFC South rival.

Who did Duemig here this from? From his good friend, double-nickel, Mr. Derrick Brooks.

How sad will it be to see Brooks wearing those hideous black and gold uniforms on the turf of the CITS?

(Joe knows the question will be asked so let’s get it out of the way: CITS = Community Investment Tax Stadium, moniker courtesy of the great GOB, the late Chris Thomas. If the financial institution that now owns the stadium’s naming rights wants Joe to call the stadium by its official name, Joe will be happy to oblige so long as said financial institution provides Joe with a low-interest refinance of his mortgage. After all, Joe’s a capitalist, too.)

Wouldn’t it be great to see DB stick up the Bucs’ ass? I think it is doubful, but it would be fun to see.

  2. B Says:

if saints get Brooks, their defense would improve greatly. Brooks would help saints a great deal.
