Monte Kiffin's son, Lane Kiffin, interviewed with Clemson University last week for the vacancy left by Tommy Bowden's firing. Will Monte work for his son, which is what Al Davis claims Monte told him he wanted to do?

Last month, Joe was the first to report, citing Joe’s sources, that Clemson University boosters had decided to throw money at former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin to take over for fired coach Tommy Bowden, but only if Kiffin brought along his father, Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, to run the Tigers’ defense.

Per Joe’s source, this was strictly a package deal: Both Kiffins had to come.

Today, multiple sources are reporting Lane Kiffin indeed interviewed for the Clemson opening last week. No word on the specifics of the interview.

The question remains: Will Monte Kiffin go with his son if Lane Kiffin is offered the Clemson gig? Remember, Al Davis, in his press conference after he fired Lane Kiffin, admitted that Monte Kiffin approached Davis about joining the Raiders’ staff so he could work alongside his son.

In a curious curve to the story, Lane Kiffin was interviewed on Friday by Clemson athletic director Terry Don Phillips. The interview just happened to be during the Bucs’ bye week. Hmmm?

Time will tell if this fire continues to burn bright.

Good timing! We need to lock up Raheem as our next DC and our future HC, once everyone realizes Gruden coaches in a one year vacuum and hasn’t a clue about how to build a football team for the future. He has no concept of how to develop young players. His day in the lights is long gone! And if it were’t for another coach developing young players he never gets his day in the spotlight. Take your freakin’ Chucky dolls and GO AWAY!

Please, we have no idea if Raheem can really cut it. Plus Monte is only 68. No reason why he can’t keep going strong for at least 5 years. He looks fit. We let him go, and somehow he ends back in Minnesota or Green Bay.

Wow Monte for Raheem it must be april fools day, it will be a sad day when Monte leaves and shame on the Glazers if its to go to any other team. I agree the players seem to play up for Raheem but, defensive cordinator thats a big jump. Lock him up give him some more responsability and lets see what happens. It just amazes me how these so called fans always want to run somebody out of town look guys were right where we should be just under the radar and in control of our own destiny
