Whitley: “As The Quarterback Turns”

October 13th, 2008

… In this last scene, Jon Gruden proclaimed his love for his former girlfriend, Jeff Garcia.

Of the many media looks at Chucky’s nonsensical quarterback drama, David Whitley, of the Orlando Sentinel, gives a fun look at the local Soap Opera.

"Get out there and throw a pick, so I don't look like an idiot."

"Get out there and throw a pick, so I don't look like an idiot."

Whitley, like any other thinking American, says it’s clear the Bucs are much better without Son of Bob in the lineup.

It was obvious from the first play, when Garcia hit Alex Smith for a 29-yard gain. The Bucs had only five passes longer than 20 yards in the first five games.

“It was good to take those shots,” Garcia said.

Translation: We should throw deep more often but I can’t say that publicly or Gruden will try to sign Fran Tarkenton.
