End The Madness

October 2nd, 2013

With the circus surrounding the Bucs growing crazier by the day — now we’re told the Bucs videotape players on the sideline of games to make sure they behave properly — a popular former Bucs player is pleading for Team Glazer to make a coaching change immediately in this Yahoo! Sports video.

  1. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    smh

  2. Bucs1987 Says:

If the Glazers have to eat Freeman’s contract and Schiano’s contract. I think no matter how much they like Dom, his days are numbered as well.

  3. Hawaiian Buc Says:

This is exactly what I’ve been saying all along. I firmly believe the leak came from Schiano, because he knows they aren’t getting a trade. He is trying to provoke Freeman into doing something stupid, so he can be suspended without pay. It is very obvious what is going on. Just sit back and watch.

  4. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Bucs1987

Time to sell. Malcolm Glazer wouldn’t go for this type of BS. We haven’t been in this type of disarray since Culverhouse.

  5. mike Says:

Look, schiano never wanted Josh… which is fine. I never wanted Josh and to keep him you would be paying him huge money that he was not worth. So why the hell did schiano bring him back for one year… of course it was going to blow up. Trade him last April and we would at least get a high 2nd rounder, 49ers got the 33rd pick for alex smith.

  6. Paul Says:

NBC is the ones responsible for starting all of the lies and rumors on the Bucs. I remember Barber lashing out at them for some lies last year too.

  7. Paul Says:

King has to be one of the most ignorant human beings on this earth. How can he believe that Schiano or FO leaked anything negative about Freeman when we’re trying to trade him! WTF

  8. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Since Dom has been GM
    Five-Year Franchise Value: 2% increase.
    Five-Year Win Percentage: 44%.

  9. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

    @87

Aren’t they still paying Raheem too? 2 year option was picked up in 2011.

  10. Splengo Says:

It’s a well known fact I do not like the Schiano Way. But never in my wildest dreams did I think something like this would be occurring. I thought the schedule would take care of the problem, but the distractions have become worse and to hear what is being accused now is beyond the pale.

  11. 911bucs Says:

    Hawaiian,
Why would Schiano provoke it? He’s not paying Freeman, the Glazers are. Hmm could they be the culprits?

  12. JonBuc Says:

King falls somewhere between Gramatica and Tim Wansley on the former Buc popularity scale….but I think he may be right here.

  13. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

@Hawaiian – Why would Schiano care if he gets paid? It’s not out of his pocket. If he doesn’t want him around, they can Keyshawn him.

  14. It's A Bucs Life 4 Me Says:

At this point, I really don’t care who gets fired. Something clearly needs to change. What a waste of a season with such a good team. Time to fire everybody and start over. Hopefully we can keep the roster intact for the most part.

  15. Jacko101 Says:

King is spot on (never thought I’d say that) but Everything about this video is true.

  16. MR.T Says:

I think Schiano has more time to get things going. If we were getting blown out every game then probably not but that”s not the case. Also if they were going to replace him right away then why allow the roster moves we’ve been making. Why not let a new coach decide who stays or goes. So it appears he will be here for some time, lets hope we can get all this behind us and notch a few wins.

  17. Capt. Tim Says:

Fire Schiano now. This guy is outta control

  18. Rahb Says:

    LOOK IDIOTS –
The “Why Would We Do That” CLAIM IS HOLLOW!

The Buccaneers Knew Nobody would go for an in-Season Trade especially this early in the season and absorb Freeman’s Contract just to rent him.

There was NEVER a trade Market. They just wanted to goad Freeman into making a mistake that would allow them to suspend Freeman and save all that loot on his contract. (Now we are beginning to hear what has really been going on) Freeman told NOT to attend meetings (Verbal not Written) Hence they can deny that he was told. Making him inactive and not allowing him on the sidelines…then ripping him from his skybox seat (WHAT IF HE REFUSED)

SO STOP FOOLING YOURSELF that The Buccaneers were/are Trying to trade Freeman. Cold Calling all 31 Teams? Really??? C’mon, that is just them going through the motions. Every Team Already knew Freeman was up for grabs.

    SHAKE YOURSELF BOZOS

  19. ben Says:

It doesn’t matter if we arent getting blown out anymore because this team has way too much talent now,it is unexcusable to be 0-4, thats bad coaching with the talent assembled, and put the record aside and just look at the way everything has been handled its absolutely embarrasing. We could still make the playoffs if we had gruden right now with this team. The longer this goes on the faster the team will fall apart at the seams and make it harder to pull together when a change is made

  20. PRBucFan Says:

Way to get us to click the video by not mentioning the waste of space QB’s name..

    Touché,

Albeit I exited out of it the minute I saw who it was, touché nonetheless

  21. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

    Ooooh!!! Rahb is ANGRY. lol.

  22. PRBucFan Says:

lol ITS A CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BURN HIM AT THE STAKE!!!!!!

  23. lightningbuc Says:

I had no idea the Hamburglar used to play for the Bucs!

  24. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

    Got any proof Rahb?

No more than the lack of concrete proof about Freeman’s partying. You believe what you want, and so will we.

  25. BFFL Says:

Agents leak stories. So you have to ask yourself why Josh’s agent would have leaked this story.

  26. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    “Hawaiian,
Why would Schiano provoke it? He’s not paying Freeman, the Glazers are. Hmm could they be the culprits?”

    ————

Because Schiano is in control of EVERYTHING. Off of principal alone he’s not going to want Josh to get his money. He’s freaking evil.

Perhaps the Glazers have told Schiano they are not going to eat Josh’s salary, so take care of it. This could be his way of taking care of it (by provoking Josh into a suspension). If you are told you can’t cut him and there is no trade value, what other options does he have? It’s not like he’s known as the most ethical man in the world.

  27. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“@Hawaiian – Why would Schiano care if he gets paid? It’s not out of his pocket. If he doesn’t want him around, they can Keyshawn him.”

    ——–

You have to have sufficient reason to Keyshawn someone. The NFL has a players union, and they will fight that tooth and nail. This is why he can leak info and turn everyone against Josh in order to provoke Josh into doing something stupid. Problem is, Josh isn’t that stupid. At least I hope not (and I’m not even a Freeman guy).

  28. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Joe,
Where was your standard introduction of Shaun King?

    Well, here’s mine!

“Shaun King, one of two Buc Quarterbacks that lost a NFC Championship Game when his defense gave up 11 or fewer points.”

As far as King’s opinion …..Schiano should be fired because it happened on his watch. Well…does he think Belichick should be fired because of Hernandez? How ’bout a President of anything…should they be fired for things that happen on their watch?
I’m not saying that the Glazers shouldn’t consider firing him…but It should be for his record….not something that could have come from an outside source.

  29. Warrenfb12 Says:

Ns about popular. I think loathed is a better word. U baited me on that video joe!!!

  30. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

    “He’s freaking evil. ”

Sure he is. Eric LeGrand says that all the time.

Schiano might not work out. But, you guys might want to get back off the ledge. It’s comical.

  31. Jerry Says:

Media can pile on all they want. Schiano wont get fired till the end of the season. Period.

The Glazers dont fire people mid-season.

  32. Capt. Tim Says:

Rare, but King is spot on.

  33. Kyle Says:

His reasoning is so flawed. Does he not realize that teams looking into trading for Freeman could get this information from the league office?

What’s more likely, that Schiano or someone in the Bucs organization released the info, which would drive Freeman’s trade value down, or that another team released the information hoping to hurt the Bucs? Seems pretty obvious to me . . .

  34. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Josh’s agent isn’t going to leak anything about ADHD, or any kind of a drug problem. That will kill him for future contracts. That’s a ridiculous theory.

  35. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @Rahb

    “LOOK IDIOTS –
The “Why Would We Do That” CLAIM IS HOLLOW! ”

I guess I must be one of the idiots for asking a perfectly legitimate question. I don’t think your answer to it had anyting but your opinion….which is worth about as much as all the other idiots here.

  36. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Kyle,

You are incorrect sir. Not trying to jump you here, but you obviously haven’t done your research. Other teams can only find out if a player is one strike away from a suspension. As you may or may not know, Freeman is not one strike away from being suspended. Still feel the same?

  37. Capt. Tim Says:

Rahb- there is no market for Freeman, because our idiot coach bungled it. Everyone know they have to release him now.

Watch how fast he gets signed. Then your mirror will show you the idiot.

Josh asked for a trade this spring, before the draft. Schiano refused.

Now, we have lost yet another first round pick for nothing

  38. 911bucs Says:

Perhaps the Glazers have told Schiano they are not going to eat Josh’s salary, so take care of it. This could be his way of taking care of it (by provoking Josh into a suspension).

Sorry lame excuse, if anyone should take care of it should be Dominick.

  39. Elijah Says:

The one thing you can certainly say about Shawn is that he is a passionate Buc fan, and as an alumni he cares about his brethren but he is vehemently against this Head Coach.

Now that King has gone awol I think Lil’ Himmlers days are numbered.

  40. Rev Says:

When we all played with for Coach Boone, I remember one time my teammate, Julius Campbell told our team captain, Gary Bertier, that attitude reflect leadership…. Rev

  41. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @911 bucs,

It doesn’t work like that at One Buc. If you’ve been paying attention, you would know that. Dominik is not going to suspend a player, and he can’t force a team to trade for Freeman and take his salary. Schiano is in control of this situation, and he is responsible for it.

  42. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

I have been told time and time again on here, that Dominick is control of ALL personnel decisions. Players and coaches.

Are we now saying that Schiano has power over the GM? If so, then maybe that explains the extreme uptick in drafting after Schiano was hired.

And, technically, TB could convert part of Freeman’s salary to a roster bonus and try to get it down to something another team wants to take on.

  43. Snook Says:

Wait… where’s the popular former Bucs player?

All I see is Shaun King.

  44. OAR Says:

I shake the bozo every chance I get!

  45. buc4lyfe Says:

LOL SO BASICALLY WE NEVER HAD DEPTH AT QUARTERBACK SINCE SCHIANO NEVER LIKED THE GUY AND ITS SO BAD HE COULDNT BE A MAN ABOUT BENCHING FREEMAN WHICH IF HE HAD THEN FREEMAN WOULD LOOK LIKE THE BAD GUY…..WHEN WE GET RID OF SCHIANO AND FREEMAN WE ARE STILL SCREWED BECAUSE BASICALLY GLENNON IS IN THE SAME SITUATION AS FREEMAN LOL HE’LL HAVE AN INTERIM COACH IF SCHIANO IS FIRED NOW, HE’LL HAVE ANOTHER COACH NEXT YEAR NO MATTER WHAT MORE THAN LIKELY…BAD MANAGEMENT

HEY COACH TOES ON THE LINE YOU AND THAT FREAKIN BASKETBALL COACH FROM RUTGERS THAT JUST GOT FIRED SHOULD NEVER GET A JOB THAT INVOLVED WORKING WITH OTHER PEOPLE

A ROOKIE THIRD ROUNDER AND THE GUY WHO TOOK ALMOST ZERO SNAPS IN PRESEASON AND GOT BEAT OUT BY A ROOKIE FROM DAY 1

DOUG MARTIN LOOKS WORE OUT, THIS DUDE ONLY TOOK 4 SNAPS IN THE PRESEASON…THEY JUST ARENT READY YET

  46. PRBucFan Says:

Everyone is operating as if their assumptions are indeed facts.

That is the ONLY fact here lol

  47. Rob Says:

Shaun King is calling for a guy’s head with NO EVIDENCE OR PROOF WHATSOEVER that said guy was the source of the leak.

    Shameful.

  48. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“And, technically, TB could convert part of Freeman’s salary to a roster bonus and try to get it down to something another team wants to take on.”

    ———

They can? That’s news to me. Regardless, wouldn’t the Bucs still be paying him? That’s what they don’t want to do. The bell just isn’t ringing for some people.

  49. OAR Says:

Freaking Evil, Bozo, claims are hollow, ADHD, and the King is spot on…. Are you sure you guys aren’t talking about an Austin Powers Movie?

  50. crazy Says:

The Freeman rumor was illegal drug use now the story is about improper use of a legal prescription drug. Somebody likely tried to help Freeman by squashing the cocaine rumor. Whether Freeman likes people talking about his ADHD adderall prescription and ritalin “mistake” nobody’s talking about cocaine anymore, are they.

As for Schiano, the Glazers ought to let him play his brand of toy soldier football in the comfort of his living room where every little soldier does exactly what he’s told and Schiano wins every battle.

  51. Elijah Says:

    PRBucFan

You did it again, You seem like a decent guy when you write something profound but when you act like the thread police it makes you seem so petty.

  52. Splengo Says:

    PRBuc,

Here’s a fact that can’t be disputed. We’re 0-4 and the schedule gets harder. Care to guess what our season record will be? And if you predict more than 3 wins – name’em.

    _____________________________

Not to mention he was Right! Funny how ya left that part out. lol

  54. Rahb Says:

    Capt Tim

I didn’t say Freeman doesn’t have value! I said there is no trade market. Teams are just waiting for the Bucs to EAT Freemans Salary and release him. Freeman would come cheap for the 2013 season with all that Buccaneer “Bounty” in his pockets.

Go Josh! I hope he sues the Bucs over the HIPPA Violation (a court subpoena for phone logs and emails outta OBP would Shed a whole lot of light on the SCHIANO REGIME)

  55. PRBucFan Says:

Honestly, I don’t mind if that’s the perspective you take.

If that is what you wanna call me pointing out the simple truth, than so be it.

People want to go around pointing out how specific things are hearsay and than turn around and use hearsay to make other claims.

    That is just plain laughable.

Again, Yea I posted to you the other night, clearly in a facetious mood and you didn’t get it. That’s on me cause emotion does not translate well in text. But this??? Has nothing to do with policing anyone, I am providing my belief as to what I am getting out of all this conversation going on. That is all Elijah, nothing more, nothing less.

Or rather than “everyone” maybe it would have been better said “some of you”

  56. WalkdaPlank Says:

I was indifferent when the Bucs signed Schiano. I think he had 10 years at Rutgers or somewhere around that time, and all he did was turn them from a terrible team to a slightly average team. But he was credited with the development of Rutgers’ products Ray Rice, Kenny Britt, and the Bucs center Jeremy Zuttah. Before the Bucs got Schiano, and before the Chip Kelly incident. I wanted the Bucs to sign Marty Schottenheimer, who pretty much always had a winning season in the NFL, but had trouble in the playoffs. The last time he was a head coach was when he was with the Chargers a few years ago and led them to I believe a 15-1 or a 14-2 season, but lost in the playoffs and got fired. I wonder how the Bucs would be doing if he was the coach.

  57. DWBuc99 Says:

Shaun King is considered a “Popular former Bucs Player”?

  58. Bucs1987 Says:

“Go Josh! I hope he sues the Bucs over the HIPPA Violation (a court subpoena for phone logs and emails outta OBP would Shed a whole lot of light on the SCHIANO REGIME)”

Why would a Bucs fan wish bad things to happen to their team?

  59. Bucs1987 Says:

PRBucFan …LOL I thought your original post was GREAT!

  60. buc4lyfe Says:

    prbucfan

you cant be that dumb….so your saying what is being said about freeman is true but all these things coming out about schiano is just rumor? even though ex players came out and ripped him, the o lineman from san fransico

the bottom line is it doesnt matter if its true or not…a federal law was broken and its always on the guy in charge, lawrence tynes…the nflpa has already filed a grievance against them

say what you will about josh but he is a non factor now and should be gone but he’s not because they all of a sudden want something in return but 31 other teams know that if they hold out they can get him for free

the fact that these rumors are even being spoke of and embarrassing our franchise is enough to be fired for….when you leak things that violates federal laws then it shows what an amateur this guy is

  61. Hawaiian Buc Says:

If this were one or two instances, that would be one thing. You could chalk that up to fabrications, lies, or exaggerations. However, we are talking about tons of stories, and not just stories that are coming out now. There were stories at Rutgers. There were stories when he got hired. There were stories last year when we were winning. There were stories in the offseason. There are stories now. Has even one person gone on the record to dispute any of these stories? Even one? Despite all this, it is amazing to me that there are people that are so naive and clueless that they want to blame the media?!? Ha, what a joke! If anything, it’s the sum of all the parts. This is out of control, and getting worse by the day. Schiano is not a professional football coach. I don’t know how much more obvious its going to get. Even if the players came out today and stated that fact, there are still some morons that would blame them for being crybabies. Your minds are made up, you are sticking by your guy. That’s great for you. I am a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I don’t put the coach before the team, nor do I put any player before the team.

  62. Bucs1987 Says:

Once again people spouting off theories like they know it as fact! ^^^

  63. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Why don’t all these “rumors” happen elsewhere? Why don’t other teams have fiascos like this? Anyone think Mike Tomlin and the Steelers would allow this to happen? Anyone think Tom Coughlin spends time watching video of players on the sideline, trying to catch them laughing during a loss? I’ve never heard of even the Jets having information leaked about their QB, and they are the previous circus of the NFL. Nope, it happens in Tampa on the watch of the great Greg Schiano. But let’s give him a couple more years, he told us he will fix it. That’s good enough for you, right?

  64. Greg Says:

    A. The Glazer wunderkind have no idea what they are doing when it comes to putting together a winning team. B. Shaun King needs to lay off the twinkies–he’s a serious fat ass. C. I totally agree with Hawaiian and Capt Tim.

  65. zam Says:

Someone leaked something. Well of course it’s the COACH”S fault!

Did Shaun King get this lame-brained before or after he ate Warren Sapp?

  66. tampa2 Says:

Bucs1987 – I actually feel bad for you. You were all excited about your season tix. They weren’t cheap. And this is the product that was delivered to you. The worst, most f’ed up season in Bucs history. That…Sucks.

I was actually wracking my brain this summer to eeither spend 3gr on the Samsung 8500 series or buy Bucs tix. I opted for the TV. As a kid I was a big Broncos/Elway honk and still am so after watching the Bucs get “debacled” (thanks Emmitt) I can watch Denver Steamroll whoever the hell they’re playing and it is always a good remedy after watching 3 hours of shit.

  67. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Obviously, the Glazers are ultimately responsible for their team as owners…Then comes Dominick unless he is just a figurehead…then Schiano & then the coaches..then players.
Unfortunately, we the fans aren’t part of that chain of command.
The owners are responsible to us and count on us for the success of their product/service.

My point here is that because of 0-4 Schiano gets all the attention.

I have been a supporter of Dominick & think he has done some good things…but lately he is responsible for
    Ogeltree
Freeman (drafted with ADHD) supposedly he knew
    Schiano
Sully (unsure if that was Dom or Schiano)
TE (lack of depth or effectiveness)

I’m sure the list is longer…but it seems to me he should be on the hot seat also.

  68. zam Says:

I really want to know what powerful outsider Joe referred to earlier today who has it in for Mark Dominik…

  69. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bucs1987,

What kind of “facts” are you looking for? What would prove it to you? I’m serious, I want an answer. It’s not a fact that OJ killed 2 people, but what do you think?

You really believe Schiano has handled this situation well? You really believe that “toes on the line” crap works? You really believe he doesn’t bully people around? You really believe he is a good game manager? You really believe he is in control of this team?

  70. Bucs1987 Says:

Well since I don’t see Schiano going anywhere until atleast the end of the season. These conspiracy theories are going to get more and more ratcheted up for the next 13 weeks by you silly folk.

When I came out of the game this past Sunday. My tire was flat. I immediately thought to myself that this had to be the evil Schiano’s doing.

  71. Splengo Says:

    Rahb,

There is no need for Freeman to sue. As we speak, to the dismay of the Glazers, the NFL black suits are parachuting into OBP. This is bigger than Freeman or Schiano now. This is about the integrity of the NFL drug policy.

If this breach is not fixed players and their lawyers can attack the system as unreliable. This cannot stand. As you suggest, all phone records, hard drives, and other means of communication will be subpoenaed for investigation.

I’ll bet the Glazers are pi$$ed. This is a black mark on the Glazer shield.

  72. Bucs1987 Says:

“You really believe Schiano has handled this situation well?”

Handled what situation well? The Freeman benching?

  73. WalkdaPlank Says:

I think the Bucs should draft Aaron Murray in next year’s draft. The guy is a stud at Georgia right now and has played a lot better than when Matthew Stafford was there. And Stafford had A.J Green and Knowshon Moreno on his offense. Murray has gotten comparisons to Drew Brees and he can throw deep. Just my opinion, but I think he would be a steal since all the media talk about are Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater, and Braxton Miller. Anyone agree?

  74. PRBucFan Says:

    Buc4lyfe???

No, Ironically what I’m saying is that exact kind of thinking that you just described going “either way” is bogus and laughable.

    @Hawaiian
I don’t know why this is happening, could be any number of reason, but I don’t claim to know or that any of them are in fact truth because there is no substantial evidence for them. Right now its all hearsay. That is my point.

  75. Bucs1987 Says:

You really believe that “toes on the line” crap works? Yes.

You really believe he doesn’t bully people around? Yes he does when it’s needed.

  76. Bucs1987 Says:

Do I really believe the leak came from Schiano? No not at all.

  77. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bucs 1987,

If toes on the line works, why are we 0-4 with all these Pro Bowlers? Why aren’t the players defending him?

  78. Bucs1987 Says:

WalkdaPlank ….nice try.. actually talking football. Ha ha. You have to have some conspiracy to run with man. Tell us all how Schiano killed your cat.

  79. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

How did it work when you called One Buc and demanded to have your season tickets upgraded? Are you sitting in the luxury suite with Freeman against Philly?

  80. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“Handled what situation well? The Freeman benching?”

    For starters.

  81. Bucs1987 Says:

“If toes on the line works, why are we 0-4 with all these Pro Bowlers?”

David shoved Geno and Lindell missed the FG.

  82. PRBucFan Says:

Now you can go into detail as to why you think your theories are relevant or correct and that’s fine, I’ll just wait to see as the season plays out if Schiano is indeed the spawn of Satan.

I’ll know “for sure” soon enough. I’m sure about that at the very least lol

  83. Bucs1987 Says:

Wait a second..perhaps evil Schiano told David to shove Geno. That HAS to be it.

  84. Elijah Says:

    PRBucFan

Look its cool and you’re right that it’s difficult to translate emotion to text, and I know I’ve been guilty of meaning one thing and someone takes it totally opposite. I am also guilty of my share of mean sniper comments.

I think my biggest gripe about blogging is not when people have different perceptions or opinions but when people make up lies and engage in character assassinations only for the sole purpose of getting their point across. To me that’s my biggest peeve.

    We’re cool. I judge also..

  85. Bucs1987 Says:

PRBucFan…thanks man I’m with you on everything you just said.

  86. Tampabaybucfan Says:

“Well over a year ago, I took a different medication for the same condition (Ritalin rather than Adderall) and to assure everyone that the error was a one-time mistake, I agreed to be voluntarily tested in the ‘NFL Program.’

This is Freeman’s statement according to Roy Cummings.

My question, and Freemanites don’t get in an uproar…its a question.
If Josh was prescribed this medication from his Dr., how was taking it a mistake?
    Inquiring minds want to know…

  87. buc4lyfe Says:

    @PRBucFan

OK ILL GIVE YOU THAT….MY POINT IS WHO CARES AT THIS POINT, IF THEY LET FREEMAN GO THIS WILL GO AWAY, IF THEY LET SCHIANO GO WE WILL HAVE JUST AS MUCH CHANCE AS WINNING AS WE HAVE WITH YOU…WINNING GAMES IS THE POINT SO IF THERES A PROBLEM YOU GET RID OF IT NOT FEED IT

I THINK THE PROBLEM HERE IS THE MONEY THEY OWE FREEMAN, I THINK THEY DONT WANT TO PAY THOSE MILLIONS TO HIM….I WOULDNT BOTHER TO SAY WHY BECAUSE IT WOULD JUST SOUND RACIST BUT I’VE WORKED FOR OWNERS LIKE THAT BEFORE AND MONEY MAKES I BIG DIFFERENCE TO THEM

  88. Hawaiian Buc Says:

What’s Schiano’s record in close games? It’s unblemished. The coach is ultimately responsible for the end result. Excuses and blame only last so long. Maybe when we are 2-14 at the end of the year you’ll see the light.

  89. PRBucFan Says:

I hear ya man, we’re cool.

    *Fist bump*

  90. PRBucFan Says:

That fist bump was for Elijah by the way lol.

  91. WalkdaPlank Says:

@1987. Wait, this place is all about conspiracies and not football? Well in that case I’m sure Schiano is behind the Kennedy Assassination or helped “fake” the moon landing lol.

  92. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“My question, and Freemanites don’t get in an uproar…its a question.
If Josh was prescribed this medication from his Dr., how was taking it a mistake?
    Inquiring minds want to know…”

    ——–

He could have been prescribed Ritalin by his doctor. That’s not illegal. Problem is, he had an exception to only take Adderall. He would have had to get an exception by the NFL in order to change to Ritalin (within league rules). His doctor and Freeman may not have known this (almost certainly didn’t). I’ve heard of the reasons why athletes take Adderall, but never heard of one taking Ritalin for the same purposes. If it was the other way around, I would be much more suspicious.

  93. Bucs1987 Says:

“Handled what situation well? The Freeman benching?”

Schiano benched Freeman. Nuff said. There really is no need to dig deeper for something none of us really know what is happening inside the walls. Sure everyone can have their own speculations. Some just take their speculations to crazy levels. Some just speculate on the logical reason. Like the drug program leak. Everyone has their own opininon on who leaked it. Even Joe has his own opinion about it saying pretty much that he does not see what the team would gain by it. It’s called speculating for a reason. Some people seem to think the Bucs are looking for a way to devalue Freeman over it. Some people think it’s evil Schiano lashing out at Freeman. When there are people making up their own theories on a blog and they are completely different then someone else’s of course some people might find their theories a little out there. Oh well. I’m going to take a shower now. Everyone have fun.

  94. CABucFan Says:

Wow, that guy ate Shaun King.

But seriously, I’ve tried to stand by Shiano but this is getting totally absurd. Our D looks great, our O is horrendous. I like Dominik, I think team Glazer should sit down with him and gauge how he truly feels about the direction of the team. Following that they should have a “what’s said in this room stays in this room” complete with signed Non-disclosure agreements meeting between team Glazer and the players to see how they truly feel about Shiano. I suspect he’s already lost the locker room, good luck for us landing ANY free-agents in the future.

If he has already lost it, jettison him and JF5, Wannstedt or Sully are interim head coach and we do some soul searching over the off-season.

  95. Elijah Says:

I already told you that TBBF

  96. Splengo Says:

Enough with the small talk, I’ve got to try and find out why the Bucs claimed SS Kelcie McCray off waivers from the Dolphins instead of bringing Sean Baker back who I thought was pretty good. Bye!

    TBBF says,

from what I can tell Freeman likes to take medication not prescribed.

    _____________________________________________________________

One time he took ritalin instead of adderall because of his Physician trying different meds to see what was most effective, and Josh reported it realizing even though its virtually the same type drug it has a different name, and each drug albeit the same type have to be permissible on its own merit. He has done nothing wrong and is only guilty of having ADHD.

Your statement is false and borderline libelous. please stop .. he’s gone

and by the way his adderall is prescribed, and so was the ritalin that just wasn’t ok’d by the NFL at the time.

  98. PRBucFan Says:

And that’s what up 1987, good to know 😀

  99. JonBuc Says:

I still think a trade straight across : Freeman for Flynn makes sense. Freeman reunited with Olsen ( and it feels so good) and I wouldn’t be against a looksy at Flynn. Salaries are somewhat comparable…Flynn is now # 3 in Oakland…why not. The Keyshawn for Galloway trade of “malcontents” seemed to work out.

  100. Bucs1987 Says:

Oh yah and I’ll say it again. If David never pushed Geno in week 1 and Lindell made the FG in week 2. Our team might be 2-2 right now with Freeman still being the starting QB and no one would be coming up with crazy theories at all. That’s my specualtion. BBL

  101. lightningbuc Says:

His doctor and Freeman may not have known this (almost certainly didn’t).

    ___________________

That is so laughable it’s hard to believe. If I’m making 8 million a year, I’m checking with the NFL before I ingest anything. Keep makin’ the excuses for JFro.

  102. Elijah Says:

C’mon TBBF you’re an old guy. You’re on meds. Haven’t you had to change meds before? I’m on blood pressure meds and before I found the right combination that worked for me I had to keep trying different ones. Well, I’m sure that’s probably what happened with Josh. Ritalin and Adderall are in the same family of drugs.

  103. bucrightoff Says:

Yes, the Bucs are going to torpedo any chance of ever attracting free agents just to withhold $6 million dollars (or roughly 0.6% of the franchises value). Like really?

The comment section on this site is why I mostly keep it to PFT. At least when people are being irrational and not thinking anything through its jokingly and in jest. Here its not only 100% serious but disagreeing gets you mocked.

  104. Elijah Says:

    lightningbuc

where did I say that you mother fkn liar!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  105. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @lightningbuc,

It’s not an excuse. I place plenty of blame on Josh Freeman. I don’t think he’s innocent by any means. He’s 25 years old and not exactly the brightest star in the sky, so I can see him not checking with the league.

Point is, information was leaked. That’s not on Josh, unless you are stupid enough to believe he leaked it.

  106. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Elijah

Yes…you told me…but it was your opinion….I challenge you to send me a link that states the Ritalin was prescribed.
If you or anyone else can’t produce that then its pure speculation.

  107. Elijah Says:

Better yet … why don’t you prove to me that Josh failed a drug test?

  108. Tampabaybucfan Says:

And this from Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo
”Freeman says he entered the substance-abuse program more than 1-1/2 years ago, when he took Ritalin rather than his prescribed Adderall. Freeman said he offered to enter the program and be subject to repeat testing to show he made a “one-time mistake.”
Now earlier I was attacked for suggesting that Josh may have taken a medication not prescribed. Again…..just a question….Can someone please send me a link where it states that the medication Ritalin was prescribed to Josh…even if it is simply a claim?
Now even Freeman is calling it a mistake…he didn’t say it was presribed by his Dr…..he could have said it but he didn’t.
I’m just continuing to ask the question.
Can someone send my any link that says it was prescribed?

  109. lightningbuc Says:

    TonyTupacWannabe,

Where did I say that you said that? It is verbatim from a post of Hawaiian Bucs. You’re an absolute ass clown! Hopefully you won’t call my wife any vulgar names!

  110. Elijah Says:

Trust me I’ll keep to your Couch jock sniffin @ss

  111. bucrightoff Says:

You know Hawaiian its weird you say its stupid to believe Freeman leaked it. He personally probably didn’t, but his agent very likely could have. They want out, and they know the easiest way to get out is to become such a distraction that cutting him is actually an addition just by not having to deal with the media circus.

But I suppose you find that theory stupid as well, despite the fact its actually more believable than Schiano torpedoing his coaching career or the franchise suffering irrevocable harm by engaging in a “smear campaign”.

  112. Elijah Says:

Oh so because he didn’t specifically say I only took one prescribed Ritalin pill in his statement makes it so.

    you are reaching big time!!

  113. jb Says:

Somebody on PFT posted this, I tried to find it and couldn’t but I believe what Scott Reynolds and those guys who are at One Buc Place every day say over the likes of Chris Mortensen…and his “sources”
    __________________________________________________________________________________

    onebucplace says: Oct 2, 2013 4:52 PM

An excellent article from PewterReport, a website with real local journalist (it’s not a blog, it’s actual sports reporters in the Tampa Bay area) had this to say…

“Freeman didn’t lose the team as “Bucs sources” were whispering to the national media members so they could report that and continue to make Freeman seem like he’s the problem in Tampa Bay when he’s not. Schiano has lost the team due to the way he’s handled the likeable Freeman this year.

Ask yourself this question. Why are national reporters like Ian Rappaport, Mike Silver, Mike Garafalo and Jay Glazer getting all of this anti-Freeman spin from One Buccaneer Place when they aren’t in Tampa and don’t cover the team on a regular basis. Yet the local reporters and sports radio talk show hosts, who are at One Buccaneer Place daily, are not falling for the spin and are recognizing the coaching staff’s shortcomings are really to blame for the 1-9 mark in the last 10 games?

The iron-fisted Schiano has done a good job of locking down the players from openly talking to the media. His first rule when he stepped foot in One Buccaneer Place was to tell the players they could no longer call, talk to or text media members with their cell phones. He was telling grown men and professional athletes that they could only talk to the media with a member of the Bucs public relations staff present.

When the players are in the open locker room the public relations staff is in full force and has been directed to hover around and overhear nearly every conversation and interview, so very few off-the-record encounters between players and the media happen inside the locker room anymore.

The reason why the players have been very tight-lipped to the media through the whole 0-4 ordeal is because of good team leadership by Joseph, McCoy, Jackson and others, who are following orders, and because of the fear of Schiano’s wrath.”

That’s what Joesph is talking about with the media — and I think it’s clear that all goes back to the coach.

  114. Elijah Says:

Why would Freeman want the whole fkn world to know he has ADHD.

1987 said yesterday if he had known Josh had ADHD he wouldn’t have drafted him.

Why would he want that disclosed. That alone may keep other GMs from giving him a shot in the future.

  115. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @Elijah

Was it you that accused me of potential libelous comments and accusing someone of a felony? All I’m doing is trying to clear my name and I’m asking you for any proof of your claim at all….any proof.
And, by the way, I reached this ripe old age by taking only meds that are prescribed to me.
Now you may be younger and braver so you can take any med cocktail you like. When you don’t show up on JBF one day….it will cause me to wonder….

  116. lightningbuc Says:

    jb,

Nice try. Scott Reynolds is a graduate of Kansas State University and the biggest fluffer of JFro that has ever existed. Anything he says about JFro is NOT objective.

  117. WalkdaPlank Says:

Why are you guys discussing Josh taking Ritalin and Adderall. So he has ADHD, like millions of other people in this world, so he has to take Adderall for it. And even if he did take Ritalin un-prescribed one time like he said, what does it have to do with the situation? Gosh, people are blowing this way out of proportion. So Freeman’s a druggie because he took Ritalin which is a very similar medication to Adderall which he has prescribed to him because of his ADHD? C’mon guys, its not like he took steriods, got a DUI, was arrested for possession of marijuana, or thrown in jail and got accused of killing somebody. He’s not our starter anymore, move on.

  118. RustyRhino Says:

He last took the Ritalin well over a year ago. That would be about april/may. Aren’t players working out and studying during these times? I live with 4 people with ADHD 3 kids 1 adult. None take meds anymore. They have taken both Ritalin and adderall. These drugsbare to help the brain slow down just a bit to allow it to focus on one task at a time. I just can not grasp how we thought we could have a QB function in the NFL with this type of illness.

  119. bucrightoff Says:

Would you rather be known to have ADHD or be addicted to skiing? Seems like a pretty obvious choice no?

  123. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @Walkdaplank

We are discussing all sorts of conspiracies….Like Schiano leaking Josh’s drug info to justify benching him..

Here’s a possibility…and its just speculation….What if Josh was the source of adderall for Talib or Wright and he ran out and had to take someone else’ ritalin?
Now that is about as far fetched as many of the other wild speculations.

  124. Kevin Says:

I can’t stand King, but I agree…Schiano should be fired. You couldn’t even GIVE TICKETS AWAY IN TAMPA RIGHT NOW!!!!! He ruined this team. Christ I thought this guy might do us some good but I don’t understand what the hell is going on here. I’m jumped off the Freeman wagon in week1 one after supporting him from his rookie year….but the way schiano and this organization has shown to be incapable of managing this team and creating something with the players….TALENTED PLAYERS!!!!! I’M DONE!!! This just sucks and I have nothing to look forward to exert waiting to see if a third round qb becomes a rookie sensation. The players have got to HATE playing for this team. I would as well. All offseason to prepare and still can’t get back on a winning track. Depressed to be a bucs fan. Wish I would have been born in Green Bay

  125. bucrightoff Says:

Its amazing people are acting like this is the worst team in the league. Might be the worst offense in the league, but with average QB play (Alex Smith? Brian Hoyer?) the Bucd are 3-1. This team is only a QB away from being contenders. Josh had 60 games and proved to be maddingly inconsistent. Glennon will get the rest of the season to show if the Bucs shouldn’t draft a QB next year. People acting like the world is over need to take a step back from the ledge and realize we’re pretty close to being a great team. But todays NFL means you have to have a good QB. We do not.

  126. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Elijah

    I don’t hurl personal insults at you…but I guess its your style…
You seem to be so eager to protect millionaire football players from criticism…but like dishing it out yourself.

  129. Elijah Says:

    Tampabaybucfan

I hope you never get Parkinson’s cause Man you’ll be trying out all kinds of meds.

The good thing is you won’t need permission one drug label at a time.

  130. lightningbuc Says:

    Eli,

Where did TBBuc Fan ever say Freeman failed a drug test, which you want him to prove?

You, on the other hand, are saying Freeman had a prescription for Ritalin, which there is no concrete evidence of, and you are ASSUMING he did because it CAN’T be proven.

Carrying on with the your vile name calling.

  131. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Elijah…..

Where is the lie? Show me.

  132. Elijah Says:

    lightningbuc

You want into our conversation then do your homework and go back and read all the comments .. uh there on I think maybe the last 2 or 3 threads and get back to me.

  133. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

    @TBBF

Oh yeah, Elijah is the king of hypocrites. This is his M.O.:

He screams and hurls insults at people who criticize Freeman. He claims that people are wrong to insult Freeman. Largely because any of the various issues like the drug talk, etc cannot be Freeman and there’s proof.

Meanwhile, he is fine hurling even worse insults than anyone has EVER said about Freeman about Schiano. And, the things he accuses Schiano are ALSO RUMORS THAT CANNOT BE PROVEN. NO PROOF.

Total two face hypocrite. He also called me a daytime librarian and nighttime serial killer.

I suspect it’s because I have a grasp of the English language and my brain makes his look like a pea pod. I gave a damn about educating myself when I was younger. Largely because I did not want to look like dufus.. much like Elijah comes off when he attempts to type readable sentences. He is an uneducated, immature, idiot, jock sniffing hypocrite.

I love that Freeman will never ever be on this team again. In part because it bothers morons like him, in addition to Freeman’s own incompetence as a professional starting QB in the NFL.

  134. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @Lightningbuc

Thanks for noticing the obvious….all I’m doing is asking questions…..and I’m getting insults instead of answers.

  135. bucrightoff Says:

  137. Elijah Says:

What about the one where you had dinner with the Glazers last night

    That was a doozy!

  138. lightningbuc Says:

    TBBucFan,

Be careful. Tony the Tupac Wannabe may resort to calling your wife or girlfriend the most vulgar name in the English language, which he used towards Buc1987’s wife a week or so ago. A classy man is he!

I guess you & Elijah have a history.

He thinks I’m an old guy…but that’s only because I post that I’ve been a fan since 76….how does anyone know?
I could be a 19 year old chinese girl going to USF….

  142. Pruritus Ani Says:

I lost all respect for King when he was an apologist for Raheem. Seems like he has an ax to grind.

Schiano gets at least 4 or 5 more games, if not to the end of the season. Then, look at the HC and GM and make a business decision. I don’t think it’s a one or the other proposition.

  143. bucrightoff Says:

Elijah is probably going to be responsible for about 500 comments getting deleted a day. I don’t know how you guys let him bait you, his trolling is very poor, even worse than Raphael’s.

  144. PRBucFan Says:

I didn’t know that Elijah was Don/TT till towards the end of the convo here in this thread. Than he gave himself away with the Couch Jock Sniffin comment.

So…we’re only to believe those reports coming out of One Buc Place that say Freeman is a drug addicted scumbag are objective? Oh…Okay?
Like those of you wanting to run Freeman outta town on a rail while saying poor Schiano is simply misunderstood. lmao!!!

You believe what you want. the rest of us will believe what we see.

All one has to do with all of you Schianopolean apologists is point to the……………..SCOREBOARD! Yeah that’s ALL Freeman, just as Scianopolean wants you to believe.

  146. White Tiger Says:

I never thought I’d say this – but for ALL the reasons Shawn King mentioned – I agree with him!?

Especially the part about “Meshawn vs Chucky” episode. You can do whatever you want, you just have to be willing to pay for it.

It is clear that Schiano didn’t care where the money was coming from, he just wanted what he wanted (Glennon as his starter), college coaches don’t understand cap hits and how much it irks owners to pay players NOT to play for them.

Either way – King is correct – If the QB is ultimately responsible for the teams W/L record – then the HC is ultimately responsible for ILLEGAL disclosure OF PRIVATE health information – and whether he likes that player, or thinks he’s worthless he must protect that privacy. If there was ANY team looking to do a trade for Freeman, whom they knew would eventually be released in a few weeks, or a few months), would have KNOWN it was a topic that could not even be DISCUSSED!

My opinion is – there were NO trade discussions with ANY other teams – this was disclosed by a guy who is not used to having to follow anyone else’s rules – and not used to justifying his actions – when he was put on the spot he used it as justification for his actions – because it angered him to have to offend this kid in ANY way.

Even if I’m wrong about how it was disclosed – because he is responsible for protecting the players privacy, and it wasn’t, the lack of performance on this LEGALITY, he must pay for this with his job, just like Josh paid for his lack of performance.

  147. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ bucrightoff

It seems there isn’t much logic to some of the other deletions….go figure.

    Rahb- thanks for the clarification.

We were LEADING in 6 of those games, with Two minutes or less.

Takes bad coaching to blow that many leads.

This guy has to go. Nothing but BS, passing the BUc, lying on players, and Bush league tactics.

We need a real coach and GM- not damn rookies

  150. PRBucFan Says:

  157. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    PR Bucfan

    Thanks for having my back…

He even removed Buc 1987 “I’m Terrified” post…

    Go figure!!!

  158. White Tiger Says:

It was Schiano who set the bar of accountability.

He was accountable, and he failed Josh Freeman – and by his own criteria – that accountability must be rigidly applied and adhered to.

I’m sure, like most authoritarians – that was only meant to apply to players whom he felt would not meet his high standards. If you place standards on others – then you will be held accountable too.

It is only a mess because someone disclosed something they shouldn’t have – and one guy is responsible for that disclosure.

Apparently, he doesn’t like being held accountable.

  159. Bobby Says:

Once again, everybody makes the assumption that Schiano is the one behind the benching of Freeman. I told you it makes perfect sense for that to have come down from Dom and the Glazers. That was a business move. You are done with Freeman after his 0-3 start and you are going to trade him or cut him at the bye. It’s time to see what you have in your rookie and figure out next years draft if Glennon can’t get the job done. Once you make the decision to cut Freeman loose then you pull the trigger now before the trade deadline. As for the rumors…I think it’s Freeman’s agent. If the Bucs have to cut him then another team can pick him up without having to buy out his contract and Josh still gets paid the difference in his current contract and what another team pays him. Smart business on his part.

As for all the rumors about Schiano, it’s all they are until someone presents proof. Films his players on the sideline to see if they’re misbehaving?? Someone should be able to spot that and present evidence. Does this sound like something Penn and others would put up with without voicing an opinion?? Why is it that we hear nothing form our team except praise for the coaches? Why did Revis seek out Schiano to let him know that the rumor concerning him was total BS? I hear players talking out against Coughlin every year while they are still on the team but none of our players say anything about Schiano. It all comes from outside unnamed anonymous sources. I just find it extremely hard to believe that if Schiano were such a tyrant that the locker room wouldn’t be in full fledged revolt and especially knowing that everyone is calling for Schiano’s head. How easy would it be for the players to just push that over the edge??

Somebody is trying to get Schiano fired but it’s from within the media circles not One Buc. Until I hear named sources I have to trust that our players are behind Schiano because that’s all I’ve heard come out of their mouths.

  160. lightningbuc Says:

    Bobby,

Voice of reason. I, like you, feel the switch to Glennon came from above. No coincidence that Schiano says Freeman is the starter on a Monday, meets with the Glazers and Dom on Tuesday, and Wednesday it is announced that Glennon is the starter.

  161. bucrightoff Says:

I’m curious what makes Freeman so trustworthy and Schiano so untrustworthy? I betcha the kids Freeman blew off from his own camp probably don’t think he’s very trustworthy. They both should not be given any benefit of the doubt.

  162. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Bobby

Here is one Buc Fan that absolutely agrees with you.

When Schiano came out on Monday and said that Freeman was our starter then said he would be benched after a meeting….to me that means the call came from upstairs.
I think Schiano was planning to give him another week

Then Schiano said Josh would be his backup then had to say he would be inactive.

I think the history of Schiano with the press/public proves that he is not the type of coach to say something he doesn’t have to say….He could have just said when asked about next week’s starter…..”we’ll make that decision after we see the tape” yada, yada, yada.
Fans hate Schiano so much that they will believe any accusation and take it as gospel.

  163. Eric Says:

Terry Bradshaw,Michael jordon, Magic Johnson, Albert Einstein.

    All ADHD.

Ritalin is one of the most common medications for ADHD. And it is a disorder from which adults suffer as well as children.

Makes perfect sense Josh would have a prescription for Ritalin. A majority of patients with ADHD would try both Ritalin and Adderall – prescribed.

Josh self reported his error, which was taking the medicine he didn’t have the permission for, and submitted to drug testing, which has been clean for 46 tests.

Why is this an issue? There is practically no difference between those two drugs. Why do any of you care what medication this kid took for ADHD. Do you really hate him that bad just because he didn’t live up to your expectations on the football field. And your gonna belittle him for a disorder many people suffer from.

I know one thing, I’ve seen Josh Freeman stand in the pocket and take hits from some of the strongest and fastest athletes in the world. He’s got more guts than all of you jerks put together.

  164. Bobby Says:

    @Lightningbuc…

Exactly! Schiano doesn’t have that kind of clout to just bench a guy the Glazers have to pay 6 mil to ride pine. That call came from above and I agree with the move. It’s a good business move and a good team move because this team needed a shake up. I personally think Glennon is gonna be fine and will probably make everyone forget about Freeman by the end of the year.

Who probably agree that Schiano leaves a lot to be desired in a coach especially his game day decisions….but we aren’t so quick to buy into the unbelievable accusations that have been hurled his way.
To think he leaked medical info about Freeman is a preposterous accusation….almos as preposteroous as accusing Freeman leaking it.
I believe it came from someone outside Tampa but….until some of this is proven to be fact…I reserve judgement.

  167. Bobby Says:

@TBBF…I agree. What I can’t figure out is who is spreading all the BS around. It’s like a media gossip party. Everyone want to throw crap on the wall and the fans make it stick without any thought or logical thinking. This whole ‘unnamed sources’ thing has just gotten way out of hand. At some point you should have valid proof behind your accusations. If you can’t name names or tie a quote to a named source then you are a coward for reporting it. It’s like the whole damn world has a source at One Buc telling them this and that but we never hear anything form the players except guys like Penn going off on the media for being a bunch of rumor mongers. I’ve never seen anything like it. If your gonna report a story like the one on Riley Cooper…fine. No argument there. There was a video tape to prove the allegations. That’s the way a story like that should be done. No conjecture, no ‘sources told me Cooper used the ‘N’ word’, there was concrete evidence to back the accusation. All this other crap is just that…crap, until I have evidence to back the accusation.

    Bobby,

I have a media background and I can tell you that this could only happen with Sports Media….it is outrageous and none of the reporters are held accountable. They couch everrything behind unnamed sources and supposition.
And at the head of this article you have guys like Shaun King who are now “sports journalists”….what a joke!!!

“Shaun King, one of two Buc Quarterbacks that lost a NFC Championship Game when his defense gave up 11 or fewer points.”

  171. BucsQcCity Says:

    He lost the locker,
    He lost the media,
    He lost the fans,
He threw Dominick under the bus,
    He lost the QB,
He lost the respect of all coaches in the NFL with its useless agression play on victory formation,
He lost the 4 games this season….

Hope the Glazers see the big picture.. Now its the buccaneers branding that is getting hurt in all that.

  172. bucrightoff Says:

I will probably never get over that one. We held one of the greatest offenses ever to 11 points in their building…and lost. I mean what more can be said? Our offense now is as disgraceful as it was then.

  173. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ bucrightoff

There are some similarities….I mean…how do we not beat the Saints, Jets & Cardinals….when they score so little?
And….we didn’t beat any of them!!!

  174. lightningbuc Says:

Part of the problem with the sports media is there are now so many outlets with blogs, internet, tv, papers, radio etc that has created all these “insiders”. And to stay relevant, all these “insiders” have to come up with unique material – whether properly sourced or not.

  175. bucrightoff Says:

We have allowed 5 touchdowns in 4 games. And we’re 0-4. Mind boggling. The last year of the Raheem era there were games we let up 5 TDs by the middle of the 3rd quarter.

Exactly…and now we have many 24/7 365 channels devoted to sports & the NFL…..these blogs and internet sites have unlimited space & time…..to fill it you need controversy….without controversy, you have very little fan interest.
    So…feeding the controversy is self-serving….
Joe feeds it…I don’t fault Joe for doing it…he is just making a living. If he didn’t his site would be in jeopardy.
But, innocent people are being affected and that’s a shame….nobody remembers the recant.

  180. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Everything ends….

  181. Bucs1987 Says:

woa what’s going in here? I was listening to the Joe’s on the radio and then I come in and see some good stuff being posted.

As far as I’m concerned in todays “internet” world Dungy would have gotten fired early on for his anemic offense. That’s why from what I can, tell being at the game LIVE Schiano does not deserve to be fired yet. The media is this Schiano’s biggest enemy right now.

If the players give up on him, then fine. I don’t see that in this team though yet. I see fight. Although the O needs a complete makeover as far as playcalling and playbook goes.

I also think the 0-4 start and all the BS going on when it comes to #5 a player that was already on the hot seat has added to the fans misery. That’s another reason why I hope the Glazers wait until the end of the season to decide what to do with the HC. Perhaps call a few high priced veterans in and discuss it as well… top secret.

Oh well this is my take on it all.

@tony2cents-TrueBuc-DonMakaviel-Elijah…I thought I told you very clearly NOT to address me anymore. I consider you a mental case. I will not reply to you anymore. Maybe the rest of the fans in here will. I will not.
You have very big issues going on in your mind and I don’t want no part of them. That has nothing to do with what you said about my wife either. Your a straight up mental case. Funny at times but a mental case no less. Maybe you could apply for mental disabilty. Actuallyl I know you can and be approved.

  182. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I’ve asked this at least 10 times, and yet to have one person give me any sort of an answer. Why don’t other teams (with legit coaches) have issues like this? I’m pretty sure there have been other QB’s benched before in the NFL. I’m pretty sure Freeman isn’t the only player that has ever entered the drug program. At one point or another, it has happened to every single NFL team. And you can’t blame it all on the media, because if a player takes a dump and doesn’t wipe well in New York, it’s on the front page.

Unless you believe Freeman is the biggest cancer in the history of the NFL, then this has been handled poorly by the organization. Unless you believe the Tampa media is the most ruthless media in the United States, then this has been handled poorly by the organization.

Ultimately, it’s not even about who leaked what, although that is important. It’s about not having organizational control. Schiano doesn’t have it. It’s no different than when a coach in college gets fired when his boosters are paying players. He gets fired for lack of institutional control. Your job as a coach is to control the organization. If this happens, then you are to blame. Don’t puss out and blame the media, the player, or anyone else.

And oh by the way, we are 0-4. If we were 4-0, he would have some leverage. But when you literally find 3 creative ways to lose games, your leverage is gone.

  183. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

Are you so stupid to not realize that Dungy made the playoffs on a consistent basis? We can’t even win a game and you want to compare the two! He’s not Dungy. Dungy was a player, assistant, and super bowl winning head coach in the NFL! He turned this franchise around from nearly 2 decades of crap. Yeah he did eventually get fired because of his lack of offense, but none of this crap ever happened under his watch. No fan was ever embarrassed of their team when Dungy was in charge. You sound so ignorant by constantly comparing the two, and if you mean it, I highly doubt you were a Buc fan back then.

  184. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I should really just let it go, but it baffles me how people can continue to think Schiano is not directly to blame for all this. With every day, we become more of a laughing stock. Go on TV and listen to the national media. They are laughing at us, and for good reason. We are a joke. I have friends texting me making fun of us. Every single ex-player and member of the media is criticizing Schiano. I have yet to hear one person defend him. These guys aren’t all one big group, they have the right to form their own opinions. Even Steven A Smith and Skip Bayless agree Schiano is a tool. Wilbon and Kornheiser too. These are guys that are paid to argue, and even they can’t defend him. Nobody is coming to his defense – no one. There’s a reason, and it’s not because they are all in a conspiracy to get him. Most could give 2 sh!ts about him before this mess.

STFU Raphael..with your Go Glennon at the start of the game day thread and then trashing him at the end of the thread. Black Power Raphael. Be a Bucs fan Raphael even though the QB is the “great white hope” now. Either that or go follow Josh to his new team cry baby. You don’t have any idea what it means to be a fan. Josh gets benched and then it’s fire Schiano for you. Same thing as many of the black fans at the game on Sunday. I heard it. I heard it everywhere as I was walking out. Josh Freeman should be the QB, Freeman this and Freeman that. Then when I looked who was saying it. Let me tell you… they were not white. It always about color isn’t it? Pathetic. This country will never come together as long as everyone makes everthing all about the color of someone’s skin. Raphael you are PRIME example of it. Just read the game day thread on JBF.

  186. Bucs1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc …your conspiracy theories make me not want to answer you anymore. Come back to Tampa get away from the islands and see what’s going on outside of PR and JBF. Goodnight.

  187. Mark B Says:

Who was ignorant enough to still value Kings opinion and put him in the light to talk about anything evolving the NFL. I feel dumber just listening to that.

  188. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Hawaiian

I’ll try to answer….yes things are out of control and yes you can blame the HC for that. I think what we have here is the perfect storm….An 0-4 record when expectations were high, Josh Freeman fanbase as polarized as he is inconsistant…
Where has Dom been?….usually a higher-up will come out and calm the storm.
Also, there have been QBs benched but in our case Josh came out differently than most…instead of accepting it and working his way back…he took the other “woe is me” route. Add to it a very hungry press thriving on controversy and the whole thing has a life of its own.
There are a lot of responsible parties here…and like Bert asked “When will this end?”……Everything ends…

  189. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Hawaiian

I left out the Black/White issue because I can’t bring myself to believe that is still around…..my goodness….most of our team is black…all of our probowlers…Would we not love to have Russell Wildon/RG3?…..I mean….Josh’s color has nothing to do with anyting….I don’t buy it….but you might, apparently Buc 1987 thinks there is something to it.

  190. Hawaiian Buc Says:

When did I become involved in the black/white thing? I never mentioned anything about that. I don’t even consider Freeman’s color for anything one way or the other.

As for Dominik, he’s responsible too. I can’t argue for him to keep his job either. However, Schiano has to go.

  191. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Hawaiian

You didn’t get involved with the Black/White issue…I read Buc 1987s post. That’s what brought it up….I am just adding that to my answer to you about why all this is happening to us.

  192. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“Hawaiian Buc …your conspiracy theories make me not want to answer you anymore. Come back to Tampa get away from the islands and see what’s going on outside of PR and JBF. Goodnight.”

    ——-

What conspiracy theories? What theory do I have other than this situation is out of control and Schiano is to blame? As for coming back to Tampa, I’ve already been twice this year, including a game. I’m coming back for 3 weeks in November. I’m signing for my new house while I’m there.

It’s really funny to watch the guys who stroke Schiano refuse to answer questions. It’s funny to watch them squirm and resort to comments like the one you just made. That’s what you do because that’s all you can do. This whole thing is happening right in front of you and you are so in love with the lunatic that you refuse to see it.

  193. Hawaiian Buc Says:

The only thing I will say is there are plenty of white people that believe Freeman shouldn’t have been benched. There are also plenty of black people that believe he should be benched. Unless 1987 walked around the entire stadium and took a poll, then he’s pulling stuff out of his arse (which is kind of what he does).

  194. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Hawaiian

I’ll buy that…..but go easy on 87….he is in a highly depressed state over his beloved Bucs.

I on the otherhand am filled with hope…After all I am a Tampabaybucfan

  195. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Ha ha! If 1987 is depressed, he has a funny way of showing it. He’s so insistent on having this lunatic dictator continue to destroy our team that he will literally blame anyone he can think of. One thing for sure, a lot happens to him at the stadium. In the 2 games, he’s had a flat tire, he’s had fans tell him where Freeman gets coked up, and he’s gotten a chance to meet every black fan in Raymond James and determine their stance on Josh Freeman. When I go to the game, I just watch the game and scream for my team. I guess I’m going with the wrong people.

  196. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Hawaiian

Good to chat with you tonite….not sure we agree on everything but you seem to be a gentleman…but as far as I know you’re a 19 year old female Vietnamese French major at USF.
After all, we have the cover of being on line.
How do we even know if 87 goes to a game or if he is watching it from his den in Paducah Ky?

  197. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Tampabaybucfan,

    Ha ha, thanks buddy.

  198. Bobby Says:

@Hawaiian…Schiano is not paid to control the media, he is paid to control the team. I think he’s done an excellent job of that so far. We are 0-4 and he hasn’t lost the locker room. Every interview I see is from players who are focused and determined to get it turned around. If we were getting blown out then I’m sure the GLazers would be concerned but they are smart enough to realize we could easily be 3-1 but for a few plays and penalties.

Dom, on the other hand, should be doing more damage control. It may be the thinking of the Glazers and Dom tht any publicity in this market is fine…good or bad. At least they are talking about you and when you start to win that negative publicity turns into positive.

As far as Schiano being the source of the leaks, etc. Total BS. Do you honestly think that guys like Penn, Revis, Goldson, Jackson, etc. are too scared to talk about Schiano if he were the kind of tyrant the press is making him out to be? Think about it. Victor Cruz comes out and criticizes Coughlin for punting on a 4th and inches. That makes the news. If everyone in the locker room here was in total revolt like the press is making them out to be do you honestly think someone like Donald Penn wouldn’t be talking about it? Seriously….how easy would it be for the players to just revolt and get Schiano fired with this media circus going on.
It’s not happening and that should tell you something right there. Leaks may be coming out of the locker room with someone spreading rumors but I’d be looking at a disgruntled player. Someone like Bowers who maybe feels he should be starting and isn’t. Who knows. NO I don’t think it’s Bowers, I was just using that for an example. But this is exactly what the press is doing. You could see a story tomorrow that says:

“I was told the source of the leaks at One Buc is Da’Quan Bowers”

Bowers comes out and denies it just like Revis did and they still go on reporting that the story is accurate and Bowers is just covering his butt.
Well, how do you fight that kind of journalism? No sources are actually named. Noone has come forward and confirmed them. Schiano has denied that he leaked anything. The players seem to be united and still focused on winning. Only the media has the team unraveling. Only the media has Schiano being hated by the players and losing the locker room.

Schiano is not as accessible to the press as other coaches and they don’t like that. The national media turned on him when he started the kneel down rush at the end of the Giants game. They are ready to report any accusation or rumor as fact without vetting it in any manner before hand. I’m on Donald Penn’s side…it’s the friggin’ media stirring the pot on this one.

What? What What? WTH are you talking about? Hes done a worse job than Rah. His offense makes Greg Olsen look like a genius. Its about the W’s dude. Those guys are pissed in that locker room. PISSED. 0-4 with all that talent? Every athlete on that team wants to win and believe me they are all pissed because any hope for the playoffs is gone. Have anyone tell you different and they are a a gd liar. Anyone fan who doesn’t believe this team needs the coaching staff overhauled asap doesn’t know the team and its history. Its not going to get any better. They cant coach. They cant game plan. If they could, they would have done it they would have done it already. Damn the Glazers are dumb sometimes. Firing Gruden=really fing dumb. Hiring Schiano without a track record of winning=even dumber than firing Gruden.
