Keep Milking The Bell Cow

November 18th, 2012

Doug Martin has 1,000 yards rushing on the season after today’s 24 carries and 138 yards.

Think about that for a minute. That’s 1,000 yards in 10 games.

TEN GAMES!

There was no LeGarrette Blount sighting today, no pretending that the Bucs aren’t going to ride the Muscle Hampster hard on the march to the playoffs (maybe). Yeah, there’s the lurking rookie wall to look out for, but it seems the New Schiano Order isn’t concerned regardless of what they say.

And Joe’s fine with pounding the Muscle Hampster. Let’s see how much the new bell cow can take and prepare to shut him down if the Bucs fall out of the playoffs, or limit him later in the season if necessary. Right now, this season is about winning. The postseason is in reach. Frankly, the Bucs control their own destiny with six games to play.

Keep milking the bell cow.

Yes, Josh Freeman rose to the challenge at a time when he couldn’t fail, but Joe’s got to hand out a game ball to the Muscle Hampster. And yes, Joe’s convinced Muscle Hampster’s goal line fumble was a lousy call that thieved a touchdown from the Bucs.

“Joe’s fine with pounding the Muscle Hampster”

That is sick on soooo many levels…

I think the call was off also, Joe. He was clearly across the line.

  2. OptimisTroll Says:

Don’t forget Blount had 1,007 yards in 10 games his rookie season.

    Martin is great.

    Dude is a beast

  4. Andrew Says:

Joe what is with you and this rookie wall. since when has any of our rookies ever hit a wall? now if your talking about a sophomore slump then im right there with you. our rookies always seem to go through a sophomore slump, but not a rookie wall.

Well, Mason Foster hit one last year. Cadillac hit one as a running back after a great start. There are others. –Joe

With all of today’s technology it is incomprehensible they can’t have better camera shots of the goal line without the side judge standing in the way of it. Why not put cameras inside the pylons?

  6. Andrew Says:

game ball goes to Dallas Clark.

  7. holymoly Says:

Pete , I saw same thing as you , ball crossed the goal line – TD ! Still glad the Hamster got loose in OT and Josh did his thing . Great win !

  8. Pete Dutcher Says:

I agree, Andrew…and the way this team is structured now it is resistant to such things. I said it before I’ll say it again…the only thing that will slow this kid down is a depleted oline.

  9. CanadianBucsFan Says:

    D-REX! another huge game.

  10. Pete Dutcher Says:

Heh…he didn’t even know he hit the 1,000 yard mark until moments ago in a live interview. Made him totally forget the question being asked, lol.

Awesome win and great poise. Freeman, Martin, VJax, Clark & Williams all came through when it counted. That’s a sign of growing maturity. Love it.

Oh, and Joe, hate to be the grammar bitch today but you misspelled “hamster” as “hampster” four times. Spell check will be your friend if you allow him.

  12. Jamaica Buc Says:

why can’t we mix in some LG Blount, to spell Martin a little and keep LGB on track.

  13. Pruritis Ani Says:

Have to agree on the camera issue.. If we can read license plates from the outerlimits with sophisticated optical equipment, surely they can make a determination whether or not the guy fumbled before or after the goal line.. Lousy call but justice prevailed.

  14. Sergio Says:

game ball goes to Coach Sully!!

  15. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Blount hit 1000 yards in ten games starting, not ten games overall.

This guy is amazing! He never looks tired, and he gets stronger and stronger as the game goes on. Just think where we would be if we didn’t trade up to get him. And as much as I like him, no way in hell Blount is even close to his level.

  16. corndog Says:

Put the cameras on the refs.

  17. Illuminati Says:

    Great win today.

And, like any good coach will tell you, there is no “I” in “team,” and there is no “P” in “hamster.”

  18. Have A Nice Day Says:

    @Illuinati haha Great line.

  19. Fish Says:

Joe – Illuminati is correct. There is no “p” in hamster.

I ignored it the first few times but for your own credibility, you may want to keep that in mind.

  20. Brandon Says:

Why do you keep calling him the “Hampster” instead of “Hamster”? Did I miss something?
