NFL Draft: Day 3, Live Blog

May 10th, 2014

bucs cheerleader 0809So the NFL Draft resumes at noon with the beginning of the fourth round, a round in which the Bucs (as Joe is typing this late Saturday morning) do not have a pick.

The first pick scheduled for the Bucs this afternoon is No. 143 in the fifth round, which should be some time after 1 p.m.

Teams can still get decent players on Day 3. It is not a total waste of time, unless you draft a quarterback.

Feel free to leave your thoughts and insights into the draft right here.

    Favorite day of the draft

  2. Couch Fan Says:

Wooo. Excited to see what gifts Day 3 bring us! GO BUCS!!

  3. Brandon Says:

QB Brett Smith, Wyoming. Steal of the draft no matter what round he’s taken in (stole that from somebody on Bucsnation). 5th round, 6th round, he is a bigger, faster Manziel with zero off field issues.

  4. WalkdaPlank Says:

BSPN really flopped on their coverage of Day 2 yesterday. I think I’ll just wait and see who we get.

  5. Couch Fan Says:

Would not be surprised or upset with a QB in any of these rounds. I like Murray or Smith. Not crazy about Mettenberger or McCarron though

  6. pablo Says:

WE NEED A GUARD WHO IS MOBILE TO PULL OUT ON SCREENS AND COUNTERS

  7. WalkdaPlank Says:

Been pretty unpredictable all draft, what’s next a BPA @ safety L&L?? lol

  8. Couch Fan Says:

We know we need a guard. I am positive Lovie/Licht/Tedford all know this as well. Jesus, calm down. Typing in all caps is not going to get you what you want Lol.

  9. gatrbuc17 Says:

    OL, OL , OL,

  10. gatrbuc17 Says:

Then OL, OL, OL, OL in undrafted FAs

  11. Couch Fan Says:

The pick we gave up for Revis is about to be used by the jets

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

How ’bout another RB?…..now that would really create a buzz-storm….& don’t be shocked if we draft a punter and cut Koenen….free up cap space for an OG……

  13. Couch Fan Says:

The heads of many Tampa fans would explode Tampa, thats not a pretty sight. Lol

  14. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    O$hit Uncle Luke..lol

  15. Chef Paul Says:

    Waldaplank,

If you can, watch it on NFL network. They are only half as annoying as ESPN.

  16. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Tampabaybucfan

Is Isaiah Crowell still on the board?

  17. Tampa2 Says:

I’m thinking Punter or Fullback with this 4th pick

  18. Couch Fan Says:

I think they go Def with the next pick

  19. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    CB EJ Gaines
    WR Bruce Ellington*, South Carolina
    WR Martavis Bryant*, Clemson

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Isaiah……Too short…..6′ is now our minimum…..and that’s for a Guard…..not offensive guard…..point guard….
    Basketball on Grass!!!

  21. Couch Fan Says:

    There goes Ellington, Luv Lol

  22. Couch Fan Says:

LoL, I’m watching the NFL network and I swear Eisen just called the Seahawks the Seawhores LMAo

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    I posted this yesterday….perhaps you haven’t seen…

Changed philosophy from “speed in space” to “hands in outer-space”

  24. Buc the Haters Says:

So far, we drafted a young Vincent Jackson, Jimmy Graham, & a Percy Harvin/Matt Forte hybrid who is explosive & can take it to the house from anywhere on the field including the slot… Great draft so far. Think of Sims as a dynamic slot guy 1st & then he can also motion to the backfield or vice versa. That kid is a beast. Trust me. #percyharvintyperole

  25. Buc the Haters Says:

We drafted 3 guys who possibly have the best hands at their respective positions along with quickness, speed, & athleticism… Jenkins runs a 4.5 40 at 260 lbs, Sims runs a 4.48, & Evans actually had a quicker 20-yard shuttle time than Sammy Watkins… 4.24 compared to 4.34.. And they all have top end/finishing speed as well, so don’t expect to ever see any of them get caught from behind.

  26. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Couch Fan

    Ellington gone damn….

  27. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Is OLB TREVOR REILLY-Still on the board?

  30. turk182 Says:

I seem to remember scratching for a running back last year when Rainey turned out the game of his life.
And I am actually loving the fact that we are grabbing value. Running backs went lower this year, so grabbing one doesn’t bother me. Grabbing Aaron Rodgers was booed as Green Bay had a good QB at the time. As you can tell, love this pick!!! Undrafted free agent Bobby Rainey, 6th rounder Michael James, and undrafted Will Demps are good depth. I wouldn’t hang my hat on any of them though.

  31. lurker Says:

I’m sure I had something lucid and enlightening related to football to share with you gents…but all I can think now after that cheerleader’s pic is Hubba Hubba… anyone got a name?

  33. stanglassman Says:

I think the Bucs were expecting Logan to be there if Murray got picked now it’s time to be a little concerned a good QB will be there at in the 5th/6th pick.

  34. ManzielMadness Says:

    No Oline taken so far…

  35. stanglassman Says:

    Bengals took a OG Bodline

    @stanglassman

Lol you’re correct! So did the Pats… wasn’t paying attention to centers lol

  40. Walter Says:

Yankey may be there at our fifth round pick

  41. Josh P Says:

@stanglassman and Stork went to the Pats a few picks before the Bengels..

  42. Joe Says:

    Guards are slip… slip… slipping.

  43. stanglassman Says:

    Why has Yankey dropped?

  44. michiganbucsfan Says:

while I would like for them to upgrade the O-Line… I would love to see them get Jeremy Gallon or Robert Herron to be a slot WR

  45. ManzielMadness Says:

    Cyril Richardson!!

  46. lurker Says:

funny, all these weapons and yet no future qb to get them the ball, except on handoffs.

  47. Walter Says:

Lol and people were worried about missing out on quality guards

  48. lurker Says:

    tom savage, qb to texans

  49. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @stanglassman

He wasn’t a good Tackle so they kicked him to guard. Didn’t play to well there either. But sounds like there may be some other issues as well

  50. Couch Fan Says:

Atl might take a 0-Lineman to I think

  51. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Couch Fan

Still would call Philly about Evan Mathis

  52. Walter Says:

Only 5 more picks before our turn. Fingers crossed

  53. lurker Says:

    aj mccarron to ravens

  54. Sam Says:

    Joe,

I read your blog 5-6 times everyday. This is the first comment I have ever submitted…… anyway..

    Two things:

#1: I PRAY that the Bucs draft OL today… mainly to appease you critics (like you, Joe) so I don’t have to listen to all the GARBAGE you (and people like you) spurt out like you know more than Lovie and Jason about how to build an NFL team.

#2: Get off the “Hate Glennon” mantra. While I actually mostly agree with you…. I don’t think he deserves the grief you attribute to him. Yes, the Bucs had a (statically) poor year in2013. However, I think it is COMPLETY unfair for you and the others of your MGH (Mike Glennon haters Mob) to blame most of it in Glennon.

  55. stanglassman Says:

Dozier gone, who the best guard fit for Bucs? Or take Murray if he is still aval?

  56. BucNasty Says:

    Take the Canadian

  57. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    C’mon lets grab

    EJ GAINES Lovie

  58. Walter Says:

Let’s get Murray in the 6th! Lol that’s be awesome if he was still there

  59. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @BucNasty

    Lol, He’s raw-But Nasty

  60. WalkdaPlank Says:

    MURRAY MURRAY MURRAY!

  61. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Walt

The way things are looking-He might be

  62. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    EJ EJ EJ EJ…lol

  63. lurker Says:

    great first post…. not

    welcome, anyways.

  64. Jacko101 Says:

Who do you think we pick Aaron Murray or Aj? Or is it a good Lineman

  65. lurker Says:

wow…poor mccarron. all the draft trackers had him picked by mistake.

  66. michiganbucsfan Says:

hopefully not AJ McCarron. I may regret saying this in 5 minutes if they pick him but I think he’s a total d*bag and won’t pan out in the NFL

(the d*bag having nothing to do with his playing ability just wanted to say it)

  67. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I would think this has to be oline. Many oline starters come from round 5 or later.

Coverage of today really sucks on espn AND nfln

  68. WalkdaPlank Says:

Please no AJ. While that would P.O Joe to a hilarious level it would not be worth it. I don’t see Murray getting past the Bengals or maybe Cowboys in the 5th. That’d be crazy if he is available in the 6th.

  69. ander Says:

bucs please pick up ken bishop dt out of northern illinois good friend of mind from high school and would be a steal in the 3rd day go bucs

  70. WalkdaPlank Says:

Bucs on the clock at last!

  71. lurker Says:

    otc

  72. stanglassman Says:

Murray would be a great. Sit a year under Mccown tutelage. But that 2 QB issue is always a problem.

  73. WalkdaPlank Says:

Kadeem Edwards maybe? Who’s it gonna be?

  74. lurker Says:

    pick is in

  75. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Wow. Bucs took seconds to decide, lol.

  76. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Interesting

  77. Walter Says:

Well, at least it’s a guard haha

  78. WalkdaPlank Says:

Ah it was Edwards! Finally an addition to the O-line!

  79. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Got our guard!

  80. Paul McCartney Says:

    Finally, we took a guard.

  81. Couch Fan Says:

Theres your guard everyone that you are so upset about.

  82. lurker Says:

    og kadeem edwards

  83. Buc the Haters Says:

People, our need for an explosive slot receiver has already been filled. Get over it. Sims will be our version of Percy Harvin/Randall Cobb

  84. MadMax Says:

    Finally, O LINE 😀 😀

  85. stanglassman Says:

Anyone believe walkda guessed it before?

  86. WalkdaPlank Says:

@stanglassman – I just saw that the best guards left were Yankey or Edwards. Not a total sgot in the dark lol.

  87. lurker Says:

    via cbssports

Kadeem Edwards | OG, Tennessee StateEdwards carries a thick, ideal frame to be a successful guard at the next level, but has a long way to go technically, and needs to demonstrate better physicality if he´s going to be an NFL success.

    C

  88. WalkdaPlank Says:

    *shot

  89. Walter Says:

Now get Murray in the 6th, let him rehab and learn for a year behind McCown

  90. Buc the Haters Says:

Potentially, the Greatest Bucs draft ever.

  91. Paul McCartney Says:

Does anybody think Aaron Murray will still be available in the 6th?

  92. stanglassman Says:

If you think about it McCown got more like a 31 year old NFL QB body. QBs retire because they get beat up over the years and he has not taken any of that abuse.

  93. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I like this pick. Scout reports are good. Being a 5th rounder he needs to develop on a couple things, and because he is soft spoken scouts assume he is low in intensity.

Assuming Nicks returns, this kid can take a few games of rotation and development and by next year, if not sooner, he can replace Nicks.

  94. Nybucsfan Says:

    No he won’t be there

  95. Nybucsfan Says:

Hope he is that’s by far our biggest need now

  96. JonBuc Says:

All offense thus far….can’t ever remember that happening. Like this pick…

  97. WalkdaPlank Says:

@Walter – Murray is practically 100% right now. You see his pro day?

  98. stanglassman Says:

Lot of teams have got their QB, I’d say there is about a 35% chance he is still there on our 6th pk.

  99. stanglassman Says:

Polian likes Yanky maybe we should have got him instead.

  100. bigpoppabuc Says:

Pretty raw talent, but he plays nasty and has a great frame for a guard. Some good coaching and the ability to take it in will be the key to this pick.

  101. WalkdaPlank Says:

No, I’d assume Dallas would take him for a future replacement for Romo or maybe the Titans to get Locker some competition. Bengals also showed slight interest in the offseason as competition for Dalton.

  102. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

And next year Nicks dead money number drops from 7.0 mill to 4.7. And his cap hit in 2015 would be 10 mil.

So the Bucs could free up over 5 mill by cutting nicks next year if this kid works out.

  103. Paul McCartney Says:

I could see the Titans, Broncos and Chargers possibly taking a quarterback. Manning and Rivers are getting up there in age and the Titans simply don’t have a good quarterback.

  104. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    OK

  105. Couch Fan Says:

    We traded back up? Ohhh

  106. Couch Fan Says:

    And a tackle it is!

  107. lurker Says:

    ko

  108. BoJim Says:

    Walter Said:

“Now get Murray in the 6th, let him rehab and learn for a year behind McCown”

    And Glennon.

  109. bucrightoff Says:

Oh look we addressed offensive line again. Not gonna pick a defensive player at all looks like. Lovie isn’t messing around with the offense.

  110. Paul McCartney Says:

Another O lineman. Good work. And we still have a 6th round pick I believe.

  111. stanglassman Says:

    OT, not Murray again

  112. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Nfl.com take on tackle

STRENGTHS Very good foot quickness to shadow and mirror defenders in pass protection. Outstanding 10-yard split (1.77 seconds) and 40 time (4.94) at his pro-day workout. Functional positional blocker in the run game to seal and wall off. Good base strength and balance — is seldom on the ground.

WEAKNESSES Developing eyes and blocking instincts. Soft puncher — is still learning how to use his hands and sustain. Raw technician — does not coordinate his hands and feet in unison and is susceptible to inside counters and quick movement. Marginal finisher — does not run his feet and gives up too early on blocks. Could use more glass in his diet.

DRAFT PROJECTION Round 7-Priority free agent

BOTTOM LINE Raw prep hoopster who only played one year of high school football and entered the program as a defensive tackle. College left tackle with intriguing foot quickness and length to be groomed in a zone-blocking scheme. Developmental project.

  113. williethewonder Says:

I wonder why the Bucs took Edwards when David Yankey out of Stanford was there and got taken two picks later.

  114. WalkdaPlank Says:

Tackle? Hope he is versatile we got Collins and Dotson. O-line nontheless.

  115. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Please don’t take Murray TEN.

  116. lurker Says:

    Mike Rodak

Bills receive the 7th round pick (221) and a 2015 fifth-round pick from Tampa for No. 149.

  117. Walter Says:

Lol that trade got me all excited. I think I’m just being a homer cause Murray went to Plant. I’d love the hometown kid to lead us to glory.

  118. Nybucsfan Says:

I like most of the picks but do they really think the qb on our team a good come on looke at the numbers these guys are back ups on. 90% of the teams in the nfl and we are light years behind the qbs in the NFC south

  119. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Anyone know what we gave up?

  120. Nybucsfan Says:

    Excuse my spelling fat fingers

  121. lurker Says:

    licht cant trade

  122. MadMax Says:

    Yes….more O line 😀 😀

  123. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

That’s not too bad of a deal. I hate seeing picks taken away from next year though.

  124. michiganbucsfan Says:

I am in Germany right now looking at this on my cpu. Don’t see anywhere that it says what was traded. Does anyone watching it know what the trade was for? and if we have any picks left?

  125. lurker Says:

    all offense, sweet

  126. Nybucsfan Says:

The cold hard facts are one is 35 and the other passed for 19 td I know we had holes but this is the nfl that’s doesn’t and will not cut it.

  127. lurker Says:

    Aaron Lynch (DE) S Florida

  128. lurker Says:

    as posted above

    via Mike Rodak

Bills receive the 7th round pick (221) and a 2015 fifth-round pick from Tampa for No. 149.

  129. WalkdaPlank Says:

Unless we just traded it away, the Bucs have the 9th pick in the 6th round.

  130. Couch Fan Says:

So they’ve covered every positional group on offense but 1…and we still have 1 pick to go… interesting.

  131. MadMax Says:

We still have a 6th michiganbuc

  132. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

The only other needs are safety, defensive end and quarterback. Safty is debatable.

  133. lurker Says:

    via cbssports

    Kevin Pamphile | OT, Purdue
Pamphile is raw technically, but is one of the better athletes among guards in this draft, and could develop into a starter over time. He’s fluid on the move, and demonstrates nice power on contact, but he needs to develop in terms of awareness and instincts.

  134. WalkdaPlank Says:

Anyone thinking Michael Sam in the 6th?

  135. unbelievable Says:

Yankee was available when we picked Edwards. Cyrill Richardson was available when we picked Pamphile, not sure I understand….

  136. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Jeremiah George was drafted-good luck kid

  137. MadMax Says:

    Sam probably wont be drafted.

  138. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

At this point, I have to say I’m impressed. Lovie, Tedford and Licht really did the research. Even addressed speed with a fast pass catching RB.

And, surprisingly, Licht actually acquire a pick higher than a 6th rounder for a change…and didn’t give up the farm.

None of the guys I wanted were picked, but I see logic in each pick. Almost deep logic.

  139. MadMax Says:

Yea, Im kind of perplexed by that too @unbelievable

  140. Paul McCartney Says:

Good, Denver didn’t choose Murray either. Thought they might’ve considered grooming him as Peyton’s replacement.

  141. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Watch Sam sue the NFL for discrimination.

  142. stanglassman Says:

ILB Barrow gone. Bucs seem to like him.

  143. michiganbucsfan Says:

Rotoworld seems to think Pamphile will compete at Guard for Tampa too. Makes sense he is very athletic for an OL

  144. stanglassman Says:

Won’t happen Bonzi even if fits into your narrative.

  145. WalkdaPlank Says:

Only 15 picks between us and a possible Aaron Murray selection.

  146. stanglassman Says:

Watch Chi pick Murray with our 6th round pick we gave them for Crumadi

  147. stanglassman Says:

15? 26 picks away from picking again unless you know something I don’t.

  148. WalkdaPlank Says:

I see Cincinnati and San Diego as possible suitors for Murray. Hopefully McCarron takes upa team.

  149. WalkdaPlank Says:

Oops lol miscarried that by 10 I meant 25 stupid draft. Lmao

  150. MadMax Says:

9th pick of the 6th round unless we work a trade.

  151. bucrightoff Says:

New Orleans might take Murray with one of their two upcoming picks.

  152. Joe Says:

Watch Sam sue the NFL for discrimination.

Can smell that coming a mile away.

  153. Greg Says:

Keeping my fingers crossed, but hopefully Licht is the first member of the Belicheat family to have success somewhere else!

  154. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Is Jackson Jeffcoat still available?

  155. bucrightoff Says:

Murray to the Chiefs. Makes sense.

  156. WalkdaPlank Says:

    DAMN!

  157. bucrightoff Says:

lol at “first round pick” AJ McCarron

  158. lurker Says:

    jeffcoat gone i believe

  159. unbelievable Says:

knew he wasn’t gonna last past the 5th, too much potential

  160. lurker Says:

awesome team but we have sh!tty qb’s

  161. Walter Says:

    DAMN!! 🙁

I guess Glennon is all we have to hope for. At least he’s surrounded with weapons now.

  162. WalkdaPlank Says:

I would not be upset with Mettenberger buuuuut……

  163. lurker Says:

    run on qb’s now

  164. MadMax Says:

and there goes the late run on QB’s. I hope Connor Shaw gets drafted by someone….very tough kid.

  165. unbelievable Says:

Brett Smith or Connor Shaw still there, though they would be more value in the 7th not 6th

  166. lurker Says:

so who is this brett smith kid? lol

  167. Nybucsfan Says:

That sealed it we have crap QB for 2014 sucks why can’t the bucs get a real QB before I die. If we had a QB we could be a good team. Unbeleieve we are in the same class as the bills, browns, raiders. Wait they try to get a QB we just live with crap

  168. MadMax Says:

Victor Hampton is still there, CB for SC Gamecocks….he’d be a great value.

  169. WalkdaPlank Says:

No I think Jeffcoat is still available

  170. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Triva Question:

Name the Last QB we drafted, that won a playoff game?

  171. unbelievable Says:

    Shaun King?

  172. MadMax Says:

Dont know Luv, is there one? lol

  173. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @MadMax

    Lol

    @unbelievable

    Yep-Shaun King

    Sad

  174. WalkdaPlank Says:

Oh Falcons might get him now.

  175. lurker Says:

    greenwave terror had his moments…

  176. unbelievable Says:

    @LUV that is seriously depressing.

  177. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    stanglassman Says
“Won’t happen Bonzi even if fits into your narrative.”

What do you mean by that?

  178. michiganbucsfan Says:

    Jameis Winston it is!

  179. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @unbelievable

    Yeah it is brotha

  180. Nybucsfan Says:

@unbelievable you know what’s depressing the stats of the bucs QB. Josh 50 td and 45 int’s mike 19 td 9 int’s 7 fumbles 4 lost and 200.6 yards passing a game

  181. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

We could still strike gold on an UDFA QB or maybe trade for one.

  182. Nybucsfan Says:

The only good thing is we are tall at wideout by the looks of things we are going to throw jump balls and hope fore the best

  183. rayjay1122 Says:

I guess no QB will be drafted. Maybe we will kick the tires of an UDFA. I am not in the GM but in all fairness the kid was not so bad all things considered. Our QB’s are not very exciting but can manage games and with a solid defense they should keep us in contention. Guess we will have to wait and see.

  184. LUVMYBUCS Says:

I’m puzzled to see EJ Gaines still on the board

  185. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Abrams still the WTF-

  186. unbelievable Says:

@Nybucsfan I hear ya, certainly nothing impressive there. Seems to me L&L are not trying to reach for any position, even qb, it’s BPA in each round. I’m actually okay with that, if these offensive players pan out.

At least on paper, we have lots of weapons on offense. When has that ever really been the case in Tampa? They are duplicating the type of players McCown was successful with last year in Chicago.

I’m more concerned with the o-line at this point.

  187. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Yeeeah, I’m sure the Bucs have gone all offense because they want a boring game manager. They must have their eyes on a guy that is buried deep and unlikely to get picked.

Did the Bucs have any QB visits that have not ben drafted yet?

  188. LUVMYBUCS Says:

There’s also the LEGACY pick still on the board James Wilder Jr.

  189. lurker Says:

maybe not as good as you think you are

  190. Nybucsfan Says:

Yea could be worse mike ranks 28 out of 32 QB on Espn so he is better than 4 I’m happy with that

  191. Andrew 1 Says:

    Jeremy Gallon please bucs.

  192. michiganbucsfan Says:

    @Andrew 1

    YES!!!

  193. lurker Says:

    qb mettenberger to titans

  194. rayjay1122 Says:

I would not be against picking Mettenberger if still available when we pick. Tall, strong arm and faced SEC competition. Good value. ..forget it..Titans just grabbed him. Damn.

  195. bucrightoff Says:

Could see a corner being used with the last pick. Need more help there.

  196. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Ooooooo David Fales to the Bears

  197. lurker Says:

    lol, qb fales to bears

  198. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Hahahaha

  199. MadMax Says:

@bucrightoff, my thinking too. Victor Hampton CB…..has some maturity issues, but I think he can be coached and calm down a little.

  200. Buc Neckid Says:

Marcus Roberson is still on the board
    CB Depth is needed
    Compares to Verner

  201. williethewonder Says:

Brett Smith could be worth a shot.

  202. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Robert Herron….YEsssssssssssss

  203. MadMax Says:

    Hell yessss!!!! Herron!!!!!!

  204. lurker Says:

    wow…all offense

    good for them

  205. Buc Neckid Says:

    Robert Herron
    4.48 40 yard
    5’9″
    Huh?

  206. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Jackson Jeffcoat

  207. bucrightoff Says:

Lovie must have been drunk all weekend, no defense!!! But seriously awesome cause he knows all he needed to do in Chicago was field a solid offense and he would have won much more. He seems committed to it now.

  208. MadMax Says:

we are hitting the jackpot with receiving corps.

  209. Andrew 1 Says:

make that deep WR class work for ya. Herron, nice pick.

  210. michiganbucsfan Says:

Good pick! Would’ve preferred Gallon but I am biased

  211. Nybucsfan Says:

It’s funny teams that make playoffs year after year is they have QB even with a good D you have to score when you play the 49ers or the Seahawks or Carolina.

  212. BoJim Says:

    Hmmmm. Glennon’s still here. 🙂

  213. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @MadMax

We Got another one Bro….Shots on me…lol

  214. Buc Neckid Says:

    Slot Receiver?

  215. williethewonder Says:

Well, they got Brett Smith’s teammate, Robert Herron, a slot receiver.

  216. MadMax Says:

Well thats it unless we trade back in….and I could see that for the right CB if still there.

  217. MadMax Says:

Hahaha, yes SIR!!!! And I’ll take care of the strippers!!!

  218. Buc Neckid Says:

I will have to catch up to you guys to get excited about Herron
    We shall see…

    But overall a
Grade C Plus draft in total
Maybe they know things we don’t
    maybe they are overthinking things
Draft is over on to some football
    GO BUCS!!!

  219. rayjay1122 Says:

More speed. I like it since no QB was a value at our pick. It will be a fun preseason.

  220. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @MadMax

    Lol

  222. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Robert Herron is a kick returner. I still think the RB will plat the slot.

  223. lightningbuc Says:

Wow. The Bucs really are waiting til the last minute to draft Joe’s “franchise QB”. Who knew they’d wait til the 7th round to find him?

The demise of Mike Glennon was greatly exaggerated!

  225. lurker Says:

no, but the demise of the franchise with glennon as “qb of the future” isn’t exaggerated.

  226. Nybucsfan Says:

Draft was ok at best but I’m not running out to buy any other jerseys yet. I hope we win but I’m not getting my hopes up. I really think the most important position on the field is our weakest. Dropped the ball on this one. Wish I was as optimistic as some fans but I have seen the numbers and I can’t ignore them.

  227. BoJim Says:

Great draft. Now we go defense in the final rounds. 😉

    Hey! How bout that Glennon?

  228. zam Says:

wow so no Mettenberger, no Fales. Good job Tennessee and Chicago, you both just got steals.

I can’t believe I’m supposed to get excited about watching Glennon after McCown snaps back to reality. Yuck.

  229. stanglassman Says:

I suggest to any of you guys who hasn’t watched Cal much in the past to go watch a game or two from a few years back. Mix that with the pats two TE sets and you will get a good feel for why we drafted all these players. This draft had Tedford written all over it.

  230. MadMax Says:

Nice vids, thanks Luv! Glad to see our QB’s have some serious weapons now.

Great draft. Now we go defense in the final rounds”

We have no more picks, buddy.

  232. MadMax Says:

No more picks Bo unless we trade….which I could see happening for a CB or Connor Shaw.

  233. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @MadMax

    Welcome brotha

  234. Couch Fan Says:

Very exciting draft. I didn’t expect them to go all offense but this was awesome. If McCown/Glennon can’t get it done this year they have no excuses. 2nd round of free agency will have some surprises. Not sure how anyone can convince themselves to not be excited. Oh well… GO BUCS!!

  235. lurker Says:

draft is over…undrafted free agents coming soon

  236. lurker Says:

    over for us…

  237. kryq Says:

Did Tajh Boyd get drafted ?

  238. MadMax Says:

Dont be surprised if we trade back in….may not be over just yet 😉

  239. MadMax Says:

Tajh is still there….and no I dont want him, jmho

  240. lightningbuc Says:

    lurker,

I hope you’re OK, I know you were one of the biggest Glennon Hate Mob members. Guess you know more than L&L!

  241. MadMax Says:

All I can say is with the NBA tower receivers we have, plus Glennon, the opponents better be great at jumping hahaha….

  242. Nybucsfan Says:

I don’t think there’s a Glennon hate mob. He is just a backup quarterback. You really look at the numbers and you can really honestly say he’s starting quarterback material. Some people just want a true franchise quarterback I don’t see the big deal in that. I apologize for not wanting to settle for below average.

  243. MadMax Says:

Ya, keep ignoring what Glennon had to work with (or not work with) last year. Why do you Glennon haters think we purged the O line and got him some weapons? Now I know, its McCown at QB and Glennon is the backup, but obviously the moves made by L&L were dictated by the atrocious O line and dead receiving corp from last year. McCown wouldve been just as bad with all of that to work with.

So please remember that while you’re still trying to run Glennon out of town!

  244. ToesOnTheLine Says:

No there really is a Glennon hate mob made up of a few bitter fans here on JBF. It’s OK though the Glennon bandwagon will save room for Bucs fans that want to get on board with Buccaneers franchise QB Mike Glennon.

  245. MadMax Says:

Lol, what a mistake by the jets drafting Boyd….oh well, he’s a local boy…good luck to him.

  246. MadMax Says:

and the Bills have our pick right now…..hmm, if we had it, Id go CB

  247. The Real Drew Says:

Shouldn’t Michael Smith have been traded for a 7th rounder by now? I mean rockstar was claiming somebody offered him a 6th for the next year to draft him.

  248. Nybucsfan Says:

I’ll get on the bandwagon when he throws for more than 200 yards a game and more than 1 td a game. This is the NFL there are no excuses. We won four games last year as fans that’s not good enough. You can settle for that if you want I’m not going to be ok with that

  249. Nybucsfan Says:

I love bucs football bleed it but losing ever year is getting really old

  250. lurker Says:

we had to get tall players because our future qb is inaccurate on deep balls. receivers have to stop and jump. also, his fluttering deep passes are atrocious for a professional qb. but that has to do with receivers or oline….nope. he sucks.

  251. MadMax Says:

Welp, when both networks are showing 2 men kissing, its time to step away from the draft…and those networks…..ug!
