“We Gotta Preach That To Everybody”

August 16th, 2017

J.R. Sweezy has words for Jameis Winston

Arguably the quietest and most mysterious Buccaneers starter made his debut on Hard Knocks last night.

The not-so-hidden cameras and microphones captured a sideline moment between J.R. Sweezy and America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

The Bucs offense with Jameis at the helm didn’t score a touchdown at Cincinnati on Friday. Sweezy told Jameis, ‘We score every time we get the ball.” And the two agreed together that any other result is “failure.”

“We got to preach that to everybody,” Sweezy said.

“You’re right,” Jameis said.

Then Sweezy is seen gently telling Jameis, “I love you.” And Jameis replies, “I love you, too.” And the men hug.

Interesting look at Sweezy, who Joe has heard is the new leader of the offensive line.

    I actually thought one of the best moments was when Jameis went over to the 2nd or 3rd string olineman after Griffin got injured.

    JW got real with them real quick. He’s pissed his man was down. That’s a guy who is razor focused.

    Marpet, Smith and Pamphile seem to be happy go luck guys but Sweezy doesn’t seem to be to joke around. That scene was sick, Sweezy comes off like a bad ass, bet he’d be in a biker guy if he wasn’t playing football.

    Sweezy played well vs Cincy. Not sure how formidable the Bengals pass rush is compared to other teams but JR held his own. Geno bullrushed him on one play and pushed him way back pretty quick and Jameis had to bail – but at least JR stayed in front and didn’t let Atkins get around him – and that was the worst play I saw. He held his ground in pass protection otherwise. Made a couple nice run blocks. Small sample size but he looked good. Saw D. Smith get beat pretty bad on a play and Winston had to run rt to escape. Saw Dotson get beat a time or 2 as well. I’m still not sold on our tackles as being up to snuff honestly. Especially after what I saw from both last year.

    The Pewter and Red Blood is thickening. Come the Bye week, this team will be rolling over teams and ready to sweep the division.

    February get ready for a new sheriff in town!

    @unbelievable….I agree…

    my favorite part was right before kick off jamies was yelling and giving a little pre game speech….they he said, “im fenna be quite now and get in the zone”….that sh!t had me ready to run thru a wall….damn im glad he’s our QB….GO BUCS!!!!

  9. stpetebucsfan Says:

    That was a gripping and telling scene. That Sweezy feels free to say that to the team leader is great…that they can agree and then love and hug each other.
    You just get the feeling that this team is incredibly close and it’s #3 of course who gets the lion share of the credit for that.

    #3 is a LEADER. Unlike other fake leaders he can quickly accept responsiblity!
    What a refreshing sight in today’s America where admitting you made a mistake seems to be worse than the freaking mistake itself. SAD.

    Watching #3 apologize for not getting them in the end zone…watching ME beat himself up on the sidelines….WOW ….this team actually gets responsiblity and accountability. No signs on their desks that say…”The Buck stops over there”.

    The team truly is a family. You can tell that they genuinely love each other as brothers.

    When you combine that love/dedication/will to win with our talent/coaching/schemes, our potential for Greatness is exceedingly high.

    We are building a true Dynasty here right now.

    5 SB victories in the next decade, watch.

  11. Cobraboy Says:

    Am I the only one stunned about how big Sweezy is?

    @Pickgrin: Cincy shook a lot of rust off of Sweezy that no practice ever could…

    …..

    One comment on the OL: for being the “future” at RT, I thought Benenoch looked ponderous, weak and slow.

  12. Mike Johnson Says:

    I like the fact Sweezy thinks its unacceptable not to complete a drive without points or a touchdown. We need TD’s..not field goals to beat the good teams.

  13. SOEbuc Says:

    @Cobraboy

    When they hugged Jameis could barely get his arms wrapped around Sweezy and Jameis aint no bitty bunny himself.

    LOVE IT BABY!!!!!!!
