Jim Miller Big On Noah Spence

Former NFL QB and current SiriusXM NFL Radio host Jim Miller is a fan of Bucs rookie Noah Spence.

Joe usually lauds the work of Pat Kirwan, former Bucs scout and Jets linebackers coach and pro player personnel director who co-hosts of the best damned football show in the land, “Movin’ the Chains,” heard weekday afternoons exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Well, Joe doesn’t often write about Kirwan’s co-host, Jim Miller, the former NFL quarterback who had a cup of coffee with Chucky and the Bucs before ending his career.

Miller is a one-man gang when it comes to working football media. In addition to his daily gig, Miller works a Bears pregame show for CSN Chicago, and he is a color analyst for Big Ten Network game broadcasts. Miller also has been the radio color man on Michigan State broadcasts, his alma mater.

Miller is a really good dude but Joe quotes Kirwan more often. Today, that changes.

Earlier this week, Kirwan and Miller discussed who will win what NFL awards and Miller has his eye on a Bucs rookie who he believes will blow up this year.

“I will go with Noah Spence, Pat, of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I think this guy has really come on strong. You and I saw him down there at the Senior Bowl, he will really help that pass rush. He will be my Defensive Rookie of the Year,” Miller said.

After watching that beating Cam took last night I’m hoping Noah can bring the entire ark with him in a week and a half.

I’m not yet ready to throw the Carolina OL under the bus because Denver has such a strong pass rush, but it’s clear those guys can be whipped and Noah and the rest of his ark of seven more DL rotating…fresh….I’m JACKED!

  2. DemBoyzFromDaBay727 Says:

Preach it brotha, Spence will be a force to be reckon with on sundays. Can’t wait to introute him to our buddy’s Cam, Mat and Drew, there gonna love em!!! Lol

How cool would it be to have 2 buccaneers battling for ROTY? VH3 and Noah, not a far stretch to think of. That would be awesome. Noah is here to break the the dry spell and Crack double digit sacks.

  3. The bucfan 88 Says:

First let I wanna say I’m praying for Sam wyche and his family things go well second cam did some good things against that defense I agree the line looks shaky but I’m exited for Jameis Winston going against this Carolina defense there secondary looked lost at time and let’s not forget they played against a QB getting his first snap so I feel a lot better about us taking on the panthers this year

  4. Buc1987 Says:

I LOVE this kid so far. Real bullets fly soon enough, b ut I think he’s going to have a pretty decent rookie season.

Did everyone not see the banning of Mike Johnson coming from a mile away? Twas only a matter of time.

  5. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

    Very clear St.Pete.

  6. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

88 I’ve made a big deal about they’re secondary all summer. Losing Norman was huge. Starting two rookie corners is not a formula for success.

  7. The Buc Realist Says:

Man. Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan are really high on the Bucs finally doing things the right way, being organized and are on their way up!!! Its a Football Friday and Excitement is in the air!!! The Bucs might go down on some games. But they are going to go down swinging which will really set up next year!!!!

    Watch out NFC!!! Were coming!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!

    Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun.

Did you notice – how Denver constantly crashed the ends on Carolinas zone reads?
Carolina couldn’t seal off the backside pursuit. All the odd fronts – gaming the linebackers & defensive backs. Real talk – Philips might be the best Defensive Coordinator of ALL-TIME.

  9. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Moderation?

  10. Kobe Faker Says:

The edge rusher job is probably physically the hardest to do in all of sports.

sack the qb in 3 or 4 seconds

You have to go thru a behemoth 300lber who is going to knock the crap out of you while if you are 1 of the elite will have a chipper runningback another lineman waiting for you…

and you have to do it on a passing play which is 50% of the time. and if he is a running QB, You have to contain the running lane while you try to sack him…

    in 3 seconds

Thats why there is only 2 “franchise ” edge rushers in all of the NFL. Von miller and Khalil Mack. 6’4” 255lbs and run 4.4 forty just to start

strongest and fastest in 1 body. Good Luck finding him

Noah Spence is too small, slow and weak

    Vic beasly clone

***In 3 years, the 2015 Tampa Bay Bucs NFL DRAFT will be viewed as the worst Draft in the history of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise history

  11. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

Many, many QB’s had a “cup of coffee” with Chucky. He was huge on flavor of the week QB’s. That is probably one of the big reasons Chucky would never be good at developing a young QB – he had no patience for doing so.

  12. LUVMYBUCS Says:

6 Out 10 – Current NFL Active Sacks Leaders are under 6’4’

    • #4 Dwight Freeney 119.5 (2002-2015)
    • #5 Robert Mathis 118.0 (2003-2015)
    • #6 Terrell Suggs 106.5 (2003-2015)
    • #8 Elvis Dumervil 96.0 (2006-2015)
    • #9 Trent Cole 88.5 (2005-2015)
    • #10 Tamba Hali 86.0 (2006-2015)

Please Note: Elvis Dumervil is 5’11’ – and is slower than molasses (according to scouts)

kobe let me hit that, that stuff you smoking gotta be fie. SPAWN a vic beasley clone. We’ll see here shortly homie. Another thing many think the next NFL QB rivlary is WINSton vs cam. I think not,cam been taking that type contact since he entered the league. Dude not gonna hold up long term. He will eventually hit a wall. I don’t care how physically imposing you are as QB you can not continually take those type hits.

  14. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buc1987

    LOL, so true!!!!!

Josh Freeman thinks that guy melted down!!!!!!!!

  15. BennyBucs Says:

Kobe faker, in 3 years you will be viewed as an imbecile.

  16. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

I’ve never bought what the media has been selling when it comes to the cats. I told y’all all summer they can be had and they will be had.

  17. orlbucfan Says:

Kobe Faker, huh? Kobe Bryant was a dirt bag, character-wise. How do you know a “small” guy like Spence can’t edge-rush a QB? I’ve seen SMALLER DBs get sacks that way. We’ll see tomorrow.
    ***Go MIGHTY BUCS Sunday, 9/11!!***

  18. BKNYfootballhead Says:

    @ Kobe Faker

Noah Spences measurable are nearer to Miller and Mack than virtually any other edge rushers in the league. Sure, he has less size than the two, but we’re talking about an inch and less than 10 pounds difference. Freeney seems to be doing fine, too, also very similar in stature.

  19. tmaxcon Says:

    Realist & 87

Bighog and kobe going to go bat sh** crazy next when bucs led by koetter start winning. It is never boring that’s for sure.

Not sure what you’re thinking here, but ok. –Joe

  22. BKNYfootballhead Says:

    Also, Mack is not 6,4″

  23. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Tmaxcon

You’ve been a savage on the board the past couple months – keep beastin’

  24. Buc1987 Says:

Kobe’s said some pretty outlandish things and pretty much doesn’t like 80% of the team whether it be coaches, star players or even Licht.

Kobe’s about to be very wrong about a lot of things.

  25. BKNYfootballhead Says:

    @ Kobe Faker

Spence also did 25 reps to Mack’s 23 at the combine. Too weak. Sure.

  26. Kobe Faker Says:

I come in peace…but i bring the truth

*To all the kids in here, I have nothing personal to the players even Jason Gump. They are a better person that i am or ever will be. nothing personal! Geeeze!

Let me finish Forrest Gumps 2015 draft

VH3 will not have a long career (without injury)

never in the history of the nfl, there was a corner with his body type staying healthy

    history repeats…cant change…only learn

5’10” stocky 205 lber with huge legs (hamstrings)

Kobe looks at mens bodys very closely

in 4 years no one from 2015 Forrest Gumps NFL draft will be on the roster

  27. Dave Pear Says:

Kobe looks at mens bodys very closely
    —————————
    Why doesn’t this surprise me?

  28. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Kobe what you mean when you say you look at men’s bodies very closely???

  29. Dave Pear Says:

    NOSBOS,

What do you think it means?

  30. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Mike “Xerox” Johnson got banned?

He could have copy and pasted the same comment he made in February, into every message since.

We get it, Mike, nothing matters until they win games.

  31. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Still waiting on Kobe Faker to say what his old posting name was. There’s no way he just started posting in the last few months.

  32. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    “Kobe Faker Says:

    The 2015 draft includes:

    Jameis Winston
    Donovan Smith
    Ali Marpet
    Kwon Alexander

I’ve never sniffed glue, but, it sounds incredible.

  33. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Looking at men’s bodies very closely is MY job…yes, with my love of football and my love of the perfect athlete body, well I get two looks for the price of one..

  34. Buccfan37 Says:

That’s three tough games on the Bucs schedule right there, Carolina twice and Denver. The Bucs have a tough schedule anyway I look at it, winning half of them will be difficult.

  35. Lord Corn Says:

Kober Faker is either a troll or someone with some severe aptitude problems

  36. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buc1987

Maybe Joe should have made a “sister” website JoeLovieFans.com???

On the bright side, maybe we will see OneLove suddenly appear!!!!!!!

  37. Buc1987 Says:

Realist…Ha ha ha yeah I think we might, but I doubt it.

LWD..how bout dem Noles? Yeah you’re right it was always the same post with MJ.

  38. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    @87

WooHA! Honestly, I threw in the towel, and was ready for an old man full nights sleep. Next thing I know, I was amped up and awake till almost 1.

Frenchy looks good. It looks like the Charleston Southern game just turned into a 4th preseason game. At least half their team just got suspended.

  39. Dooshlarue Says:

    Hey NOS BOS
Why do you seem to drift between some what coherent wasp and then ghetto skreet style.
Has your doctor not yet nailed down the proper dosage for your meds?

  40. Dooshlarue Says:

    Just wait on it.

  41. SB with Jameis Says:

Kobe your Idiocy shows constantly by saying that the “2015 Bucs draft will be the worst ever” Dumass VH3 and Spawn were drafted in 2016 you DOLT! Winston, Marpet, and Smith and Kwon Alexander were 15

  42. Buccfan37 Says:

Mike Johnson gone, I missed it. He wasn’t bad, just his own style.
