Rookie linebacker Kwon Alexander is feeling it

Lotta big talk coming out of One Buc Palace over the past 24 hours.

Heck, Lovie Smith told fans yesterday that the Bucs are “on the verge” of victory!

Today, it was rookie linebacker Kwon Alexander’s turn.

Tampa Bay’s starting middle linebacker stood tall on the Ronnie and TKras show on WDAE-AM 620. He proclaimed, “We’re going to show the world,” when describing what to expect from the Buccaneers against the sad-sack Jaguars on Sunday.

You tell’em, Kwon.

Joe’s all fired up. Sunday is very much a Super Bowl of sorts for the Buccaneers. With a victory, order is restored and the Bucs stroll into a much-needed bye week at 2-3. With a loss, well, it could just end the season for some Tampa Bay employees.

Jags aren’t as bad as usual bortles playing well decent rb now and Allen Robinson legit wr. Bucs better not turn it over and expect to win. Even match on paper..

  2. Muhw Johnson Says:

Heyyy..at least Kwon’s showin passion. Its about time somebody around Buc 1 place did. 5. Tim S Says:

Every player and coach should shut their mouth until they’re able to win ONE home game. Until that time I really couldn’t care less what any of them have to say. All talk with this team.

  6. StPeteBucsFan Says:

I just hope we’re not down 17 in the first quarter. These kind of games are getting pretty boring. It’s hard in the NFL to end a game in a single quarter but we’ve managed to do it 2 out of four games now.

  7. ATLBucsFan Says:

Hey Kwon, I’m ready to be convinced.

  8. Bucnjim Says:

Winston throws his third pick six in three home games. Love gets fired while caught starring off into space follow the play.

  9. Tampa Tony Says:

    Stop talking and win!!!!!!

  10. CC Says:

When Lovie says we are improving he’s right. If the season ended today we would get the 2nd pick in the draft.
    Go Bucs!

  11. Alstott40 Says:

Just saw Daniel Fells has MRSA. Obviously its Schiano’s fault, they really need to fire him.

  12. Dodgelover Says:

    STOP jabbering and WIN!

  13. Bucnjim Says:

Several dozen Bucs fans saved from jumping off the skyway bridge after Winston throws his third pick and the Jags come back to win 14-13

I am not from Missouri, but nonetheless, SHOW ME!!!! I am tired of the talk!!!! Keep your pie holes shut and just execute on the field. You want respect, then go earn it. Until you do, you are all nothing more than jabber jawing buffoons!!! Earn your pay!!!

  16. rayjay1122 Says:

I am not going to anymore games. If I want to see a circus, I will go to Cirque du solei or wait until Ringling Bros. returns. You Clowns!!!!

People in China, India, S America and Russia saying WHAT the F is a KWON???

  19. Bucnjim Says:

People in America are saying Big Top Pee Wee Circus

  20. BucTrooper Says:

I remember a few years ago the Jags came to town when the Bucs were looking for one of those wins to “get them on track” and Blaine Gabbert THROTTLED them.

    Blaine.
    Gabbert.

  21. Stevek Says:

Kwin and Ali are good players already, very encouraging drafts from Licht thus far.

Now, as for the coaching, defensive philosophy, etc.: someone needs to step the hell up, a player, and grab this season by the horns. Their is absolutely no way Lavonte David should be playing like a scrub. GMC is playing well, hurt, but we need more.

Time to let the young guys take a chance to be the vocal leaders on this team. Our team is too nice and passive. We need some nasty in the worst way. Go Bucs! I tune in every Saturday, and to Bucs Websited daily, I want nothing more than a winner on Sundays.

To all the Bucs Players, please step up and play hard for 60 minutes. I wish you could trade places with the working man, the one who gets to escape for a few hours each Sunday to watch our team, you stinkers, play the game the right way. Just. Play. Hard.

    No excuses, just W’s.

  22. Buc1987 Says:

rayjay…I’ll be there this Sunday. I’ll straighten this shyte out for us. I’m not effing round no more.

    SIGNS are being MADE!

First sign so far, plain and simple. I’m taking a white poster board and painting a giant question mark on it. Everytime they screw up, I’m putting up that question mark.

  23. Danati74 Says:

Who we got for CB’s???Mike Jenkins and Jennings. Shoot Maybe Bortles will have a career day. Where has Bradly Mcdougald been? Last year he was going to be a hidden gem,…ya well he is still hidden. No splash plays from him either. A lot of Bucs defensive players lacking splash plays. Kwon is a standout in this draft, but talk is talk and 1-3 is what we are. Motivation this week should be,….if we lose to the Jags…thats really how bad we are.

  24. vegabuc Says:

Don’t sing it, just bring it

  25. Lord Cornelius Says:

Haha that’s great man. I don’t know how I can remain such an optimistic still at this point. Something is likely wrong with me. I just believe Jaboo will figure this league out eventually 🙂

Don’t stop! Believing!! Hold on to that FEEeeeeLLlin!!!

  26. ShutTheBucUp Says:

I bet “the sky is the limit” too. Same old BS. Just show it on the field already.

  27. Stevek Says:

    1987,

Lmao, love your dedication. Can you make it a, “?!” sign? Just to show the proper exclamation to our question.

    Also,

    “#SiegeTheFans”

    Or

    “IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THAT?”

    Or

“Real football doesn’t start until November. -Lovie Smith”

  28. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

“Sunday is very much a Super Bowl of sorts for the Buccaneers”

Heard the story before…the sad reality for both of these teams appears to be the only bowl either will play in is the Toilet Bowl. What the hell is in the Florida water!? Three NFL teams and they all suck manatee nuts.

  29. Tom Edrington Says:

    The world?

Kwon thinks the world cares about Tampa vs. Jacksonville??

    Kwon is dillusional.

  30. rayjay1122 Says:

Good luck with the signs 87. LOL. I am realistic. I did not expect a playoff birth with a rookie QB and 2 rookie OL starters as well as a neglected defense, but I do expect them to be competitive and how about somewhat entertaining. What they have paraded before the faithful fans is a disgrace and I am not tolerating it any longer. When they decide to change the way they play, then I will change my attitude. I am not a bandwagon or fair weather fan either. I have been here through the worst, but I demand them to lose professionally. I mean, if they execute and give their best effort and just get beat, I can except and respect that. The nonsense they have displayed though is quite honestly not even on a semi pro level and since I played semi pro in the past I would know. Semi pro do not get paid but play because they love football but the direction of their lives did not lead them to college football or pro. These guys are getting paid but are playing like amateurs. There are no more excuses that can be given for what this franchise has become. From the owners all the way to the equipment managers, they have failed themselves, the fans, the city of Tampa and the NFL. May GOD have mercy on their souls!!!

  31. Buc1987 Says:

LOL SteveK …It’s my greatest sign ever. Believe it or not a lot of thought goes into my signs. I really want it to hit home.

I thought of “SiegetheBS”. “I Miss Schiano” and “Your Uniforms Suck Too”

I like the “Simple As That” one. Or How about “Lovie = “Simple is as Simple Does”.

  32. Bucnjim Says:

This is like a scene out of the original Planet of The Apes where Charlton Heston rides up to a half buried Statue of Liberty. You Finally did it! You blew us up you idiot’s.

  33. Stevek Says:

    1987,

How about, “I was told there would be free drinks?”

“Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the official football team of Charmin Toilet Paper. “

  34. Buccfan37 Says:

87… what happened to your middle finger salute if they lose? I didn’t think so. Another loss at home would be worthy though.

  35. bucsbedabest Says:

Kwon Says – “We’re going to show the world”

Kwon should Say -“We’re working on our tackling teknique. The defense is showing up before practice and staying late after practice. We also have a players only meeting once a day to discuss coverage and run gap, area’s of responsibility. In addition each day we review the prior weeks penalties and how they could have been avoided. I noticed Lavonte has a coach helping him daily with pass catching. We want to thank the fans for giving us the opportunity to win our next home game.” :

  38. ATrain Says:

  39. CAN'T FIX IT Says:

THIS IS WHEN THE BUC’S HAS THERE BIG BREAK DOWN , SORRY GUYS , BUC’S 24 — JAGS 49 LOVIE GETS FIRED !!!!!!! AND THE BUC’S WILL BE BOOOO OFF THE FIELD AND THINGS THROWED AT THEM GOING IN THE TUNNEL!!!!>>>>!!!!

  40. ElioT Says:

    Such a joke.

We’re so lucky our team is on the “verge” of winning a F**KING GAME!!!!

We should be so f*cking grateful!

Go ahead and “show” the world how great you are winning a first home game in 11 tries against the f**king Jags!!!!

Shut the hell up, put your head down and don’t say a damn thing till you can make a play and win multiple games.

    Bunch of losers! Loser mentality!

    This f**king team…

    Siege this!

    Go Sucs!!!

  41. chris Says:

At least Doug played hard…one of those flukey 100 yrd games like he had when healthy.

  43. Jeagan1999 Says:

Going to show the world what? That we can hang with the only other team that can lay claim to the title “Most Mediocre” team in the NFL? Or show the world that Jameis Winston, a.k.a. “America’s Turnover Machine” (ATM for short) can somehow find a way to give the ball away even more than 5 times a game? Maybe he means show the world that our coaching staff could be outcoached by a pee-wee team?

Yeah, I’m a little tired of all this! Does it show?

  44. BigMacAttack Says:

    I’m stoked. Not

  45. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

“Most Mediocre????” What is your definition of mediocre???? Winless at home over the last year and a half, 3-17, and earning the number 1 overall pick is not even close to being mediocre!!!!

  46. MTM Says:

This Sunday’s game will bumped for a slap chop infomercial.

  47. ATrain Says:

Hey you guys just don’t get it..Lovie knows what he is doing ..

Lovie was given a team to rebuild.
He started in the basement then went to the Dollar Tree to pick up some Free Agents..

Hahaha. Bucs should hire me to help with some Comic Relief…

P.S. No wonder our Last OC stayed gone from this team.

  48. Buc1987 Says:

Yikes some of you guys are hostile. I understand the hostility I’m right there with you, but man back off the rookie. He’s one of the bright spots on a team with very little brightness at all.

@Joe do you think it will be a hostile crowd this Sunday, like it was for Schiano during that Thurs night game in 2013? Walking around that stadium during that game you could just feel the hate. I know you felt it too. I’ve never been in an arena like that before. I REALLY hope they show up or it’s going to get VERY ugly in there. I have a bad feeling.

  49. Buc1987 Says:

My name is doubting Thomas at this point. I will believe it, oh yes I will, but only when I see it.

  51. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

LOL!!! SHOW THE WORLD?!!? AGAINST THE #(*#9 JAGUARS?! LMFAO!!! OMFG THE JAGUARS?? LMFAOO I CAN SEE MAYBE THE PATRIOTS OR PACKERS BUT JAGS?!? LMFAOO NOBODY’S GONNA TAKE YOU SERIOUS IF YOU BEAT THE JAGS!!!! ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  52. Stevek Says:

End the streak of 680+ days since a home game, and that will be huge!

  53. chris Says:

No one backed off Glennon when he went 19-9 , for a rookie. Just absurd comments on his physical appearance, how he’s not a franchise qb. No 5 turnover games…yet he was vilified on here. Do you honestly think this guy is a franchise qb, or closer to what we had with Diller and Testaverde? He’s part of this year’s quagmire fest…he certainly fits in with his loser comments of…..almost a win, etc.

  54. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

    Jameis > Mariota

  55. ATrain Says:

Dang I got no laugh on that.. Keep your sense of humor Bucs Fans its all you will have this year

  56. chris Says:

Bright spots? If this guy even had close to the games Glennon had with Seattle and Pittsburgh, or Mariotta against us, you would be calling him the Universes qb and building a statue in front of Raymond James tomorrow.

  57. chris Says:

When 7423? Next year? Ummm,so far no.

  58. @FamousBroy3434 Says:

IF I SEE MARIOTAS NAME ON THIS SITE ON AN ARTICLE ON KWONS COMMENTS ILL HURT SOMEBODY. IF YOU PEOPLE DONT REALIZE THAT ITS TOO EARLY TO JUDGE THESE QUARTERBACKS HENCE GRIFFIN AND KAEP THEN YOU SHOULD PROBABLY CONSIDER YOUR PLACE IN THIS WORLD BECAUSE YOURE THAT STUPID. good god guys sorry for the rant but I’m trying to read what people have to say on the issue and I read about Mariota and glennons stats. Dude nobody has even called for Glennon. Just stop. AND LOVIE WOULD BE THRIIIIIIILLED TO TRADE HIM

  59. @FamousBroy3434 Says:

Also “worth a win order is restored in the bye week; with a loss Tampa bay employees could lose their jobs” SOUNDS LIKE A WIN WIN TO ME. LETS TRY BLITZING AND NOT SIGNING ABSOLUTE TRASH

  60. chris Says:

Of course he would, it would be one more dumb ass move this latest run of ineptitude coaching / front office of our beloved Buccaneers , get back to me at end of this next year of 2-14,3-13 year…and tell me how a great a pick he was.

  61. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Sounds like if ANYONE is going to torture themselves by going to the game needs to sneak in a roll of toilet paper and start pelting the field if the game gets out of hand early which it probably will.

  62. DefenseRules Says:

I’m really having trouble understanding exactly what Bucs fans want … Beyond wins of course. At the start of this season, fans were insistent that Jameis was NFL-ready and that Lovie HAD to start him so he could lead us to a great season. So after 4 games Jameis has delivered a 1-3 Record, and it’s obviously Lovie’s fault.

No folks, 2 of our losses are clearly owned by Jameis. His turnovers dug a hole the Bucs simply aren’t good enough to dig out from. But you know what?

HE’S A ROOKIE … AND ROOKIES DO STUFF LIKE THAT.

Sports pundits like Joe built unrealistically high expectations among the Bucs fans base regarding what to expect from Jameis. This team is better than its record indicates, but it’s still at best just an average team. And quite frankly I’m not convinced it’ll ever be anything but average under Lovie. But I’m really hoping that I’m wrong. I’m really hoping that he grows with the team and that he can lead us to some really great things.

  63. J Says:

We’re going to show the world we can be competitive against a garbage team. Oh and that our QB should have been MM but he didn’t fit the agenda.

  64. J Says:

We’re going to show the world we can be competitive against a garbage team. Oh and that our QB should have been MM but he didn’t fit the agenda.k

  65. J Says:

Sorry for duplicate.. Almost like JaMoose first and most recent pick 6.

  66. J Says:

Defense rules some of us knew better than pro ready by looking at footwork n decision making n wanted to go elsewhere. The others are getting precisely what they deserve.

  67. J Says:

Famous the difference between rg3 Karl n mm is that MM does damage from the pocket and runs less than JaMoose.

  68. Buc1987 Says:

J…find me a clip of Winston’s drop back in college and show me bad footwork on the drop back.

Or For that matter any other of you Winston – HATERS!

  69. Bucs Fan Since '76 Says:

I heard the interview. He was not running his mouth. Nice kid, trying to be positive, said the players love the fans and want to perform well for us. He also loves Hardy. Maybe that’s who the Glazer boys pick if they fire Lovie (whoever came up with the Mrs. Howell handle, I salute you! Hilarious!)

  70. Trubucfan22 Says:

It’s how the fans want the players to “just shut up and win”. But being available to the media and doing radio shows is part of their job. It’s in their contract. They don’t want to talk to the media, they have to. Otherwise they get fined, like Marshawn Lynch did/does.

  71. Buc1987 Says:

@Chris…I think everyone needs to check back on Jameis in 2-3 years and quit whining about a rookie QB. So I agree with you. Everyone stfu after only 4 games. You all look like jackasses, but hey that just my opinion.

  72. Buc1987 Says:

chris…now I see where this thread went heywire. You did it. Everyone was talking about Kwon this and Kwon that. I said fans need to back off the rookie and your first thought was the rookie Winston. WTF is wrong with your head? No one was talking about Winston. Certainly not me. You went into this detailed paragraph about “no one backed of Glennon” and Winston this and Winston that.

You have a problem sir and that problem is, you don’t live in Tennessee.

  73. PRBucFan Says:

    interesting…

Sort of like some of the blind optimists on these threads

  74. PRBucFan Says:

Worst type of fan might I add.

  75. BrooklynBucsFan Says:

Hasn’t Tennessee only one one game as well?

  76. Buc1987 Says:

    Merry Early Christmas Winston Haters.

Peyton Manning threw 11 picks in the first 4 games of his rookie season.

    Happy Holidays!

    —————————————————————————
You are undoubtedly right. They are probably fitting Jameis for his gold Hall of Fame Jacket already.
My question for you is this:
If Lovie and Licht are such poor evaluators of talent, as you have posted on several separate posts about other players, why do you think they got this choice (JW3) right???

tickrdr (America’s Doubting Thomas, sorry cmurda, I have used it first)

  78. J.R. Says:

This game is must win. We need this game. Cmon jaboo!! I still believe in this kid. We badly need ASJ back. Simplify the game plan and start taking some deep shots to Evans. Who ever thought the kicking game would be so important?

  79. Buc1987 Says:

tickrdr…I was posed this question earlier today. I answered it like this. You’re asking the wrong guy btw, you know I have answer for everything. Especially on JW.

The pick was a no-brainer to me, you know that. They got it right with Kwon, they got it right with Marpet, as far as I’m concerned they got it right with Evans. They don’t get them ALL wrong. Squirrel and the nut thingy.

Ya know I’m like that with ALL rookies. Not just Jameis. This summer I was defending Sims the same way. Give him time. You of all people know that you can’t label a player a bust until year 3. Lots of fans on here don’t think that way, and it’s quite obvious. I wasn’t here for it, but I heard about all the GMC-bust talk that went on.

You have to agree what they’ve done in free-agency is outright lunacy over the last year and a 1/2. They might not be right with what they’ve drafted, but you’ll never see me on JBF complain about a rookie until year 3. Unless his name is Brindza. Kicking a football can’t be one of the hardest positions in the NFL. The ball only has to go straight most of the time.

No I can’t kick a 10 yard FG in case you’re wondering. lol

    @Buc1987:

Thanks for the response, and fair enough. We’ll just have to wait and see.
BTW, my daughter is flying in from Denver, and is looking forward to going to the game with me. (Section 234, row AA, seats 3-4).

After the last game, I texted her in all honesty, and asked if she was still looking forward to the game, and I even suggested that she may want to bring one of those brown paper bags with the “eyeholes” cut into them. So she texts me back a picture of her wearing the bag! Made me LOL! Where are your seats, so I can check out your sign.

  82. Tackleblockwin Says:

Not a single player on this team needs to be doing radio shows and additional interviews during the week. Get back to work. It’s like they are completely unaware at how bad they are.

  86. Buc1987 Says:

I hope I don’t have to raise the question mark sign too often, the fans behind me might get pissed off. We’ll be over by the Bucs tunnel at the end of the game win or lose. I’m a six ft tall skinny dude wearing the FSU Winston jersey. My wife, five ft tall freckled red head with a big chest.

  87. @FamousBroy3434 Says:

1987- only logical person hear. I thank you. Peyton 11 pics- (bad team bad coaching) Winston 7- but he’s a bust. He was FLAWLESS against NO. Best qb play in TB history

  88. J Says:

87 there is plenty of tape where he throws with his feet improperly set. In college and pros. Watch highlights.

  89. ATrain Says:

    87 I know you Love Winston.. I get it…

But be Truthful Look at his drop backs as the game went on.. He went from 2 to 3 step drop to 8 steps back.. And not because he was being chased. YET.

Winston has to get set and throw. He has a Rookie line in front of him that cant give him that much time.. 3 Sec hold is all he gets.. His feet dance too much and it effects his throw.

Im not a Winston fan but I want him to do well because if he doesn’t we are 1-15 this year.

  90. sho nuff Says:

  91. buc15 Says:

Barth Vader is back! I am going to go out a limb here and say we will win 3 out of the next 4. Just a gut feeling without logic to support it.

  92. Buc1987 Says:

J…I watched every game of his college career, plus highlights. Please point to a highlight where I can see where his drop backs and footwork were bad.

That was NOT one of his knocks coming out of college. I can’t remember anyone saying he has sloppy footwork. I’m going to go hunting to see if I can find some now just for shytes and giggles.
