The BootAugust 19th, 2014
The rash of Bucs injuries, in particular to the defense, is starting to unnerve some Tampa Bay fans, and if you believe the words typed by Peter King himself, the Bucs are shopping for secondary help.
Alterraun Verner already stated he isn’t sure if he is 100 percent ready to play Saturday in Buffalo. To add to fans’ angst, it sure doesn’t look like fellow corner Rashaan Melvin will be ready to go either.
Per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, Melvin has a wheel in the boot.
Bucs LB Brandon Magee and CB Rashaan Melvin still had boots on at practice as they recover from foot/ankle injuries …

Joe already stated that when he saw Melvin limping in the Bucs locker room following the second preseason game against Miami, Joe said to himself, “This isn’t good.” Melvin just cannot stay healthy and that’s a shame.
Given he is in a boot, even if precautionary, it is hard to see how he will be ready to go Saturday.
In the glass-is-half-full mentality, that means the likes of Danny Gorrer will and should get plenty of work this week.
