Jason Licht could have played it safe. He didn’t. He could have gone with the chalk. He didn’t. He could have reached for need. He didn’t.
With the selection of Calijah Kancey at No. 19, Tampa Bay’s GM stayed true to his board and now he hopes that truth sets Todd Bowles free to forge a dynamic pass rush. It’s a rather bold move for Licht, who has now used his top pick in the past three drafts on a front-7 defensive player. [read more]

New Bucs DT Calijah Kancey.
Maybe one reason Bucs rookie defensive tackle Calijah Kancey is able to get in opponents’ backfields so much is because he uses Reggie Bush-like moves or because he ‘Moss’ed’ guards?
The Bucs’ first-round pick arrived at One Buc Palace today and sort of made a confession. Growing up, he didn’t warm to interior linemen.
Kancey was asked what defensive tackles he admired and he said, None. Why? “I always considered myself a skills player,” Kancey said.
When pressed to name his favorites, Kancey said Reggie Bush and Randy Moss.
Imagine Kancey going deep down the seam for bombs, shaming defenders? LOL

Done.
