Todd talks fantasy strategy when picking at the end of round one and getting two players every time you are on the clock. The Todd Wright Fantasy Football Podcast is presented by Hooters!
Rookie edge rusher Chris Braswell.
If Chris Braswell was a stock symbol, Bucs head coach/defensive coordianator Todd Bowles would put an arrow-pointing-up emoji next to his name. (more…)
“Coach just popped your balloon, Kyle.”
Great response by Todd Bowles today. (more…)
Doesn’t need to be a hero.
You’ve heard it before and several times weekly if not daily for years. The NFL is a quarterback league. (more…)
“Camp Cupcake,” as Bucco Bruce Arians called it in 2021, is back in full force today in Jacksonville. (more…)
Rookie OL Elijah Klein.
Just based on being a sixth-round draft pick, Bucs rookie offensive lineman Elijah Klein is a long shot. (more…)
To no one’s surprise, Jaguars reporters were on scene yesterday for the Bucs-Jags joint practice in Jacksonville and had different, non-Bucs perspectives on the action.
The perfect example is below. (more…)
Winning is costly.
Joe is not suggesting 32-year-old Matt Judon coming off an injury is the second coming of Reggie White. But he certainly has a better résumé sacking quarterbacks than anyone on the Bucs roster. (more…)
Can a team be tough with softer practices?
One one hand Todd Bowles doesn’t want dudes getting tackled in practice and thought one-on-ones between wide receivers and defensive backs shouldn’t have been run yesterday because both the Bucs and the Jags have a bunch of players dinged up. (more…)
Joe’s not-so-world-famous notes from Bucs practice in Jacksonville against the Jaguars today. Proceed carefully if you are allergic to dropped passes. If you’re looking for turnovers and wow plays, this wasn’t a day for you. (more…)

Just an ouchie.
The Bucs are keeping the injury wasp away, though the injury bug has stung a few times already.
Per J.C. Allen of SI.com, tests done today on Bucs backup tight end Payne Durham concerning the severity of his knee injury have come up negative. So Durham is day-to-day, per Allen, and should be “fine.”
Joe was shook seeing Calijah Kancey on floppy hat patrol in Jacksonville this morning. Bucs coach Todd Bowles wouldn’t say what’s wrong with Kancey.
Since the regular season has not kicked off, teams are not obligated to disclose injuries.
So Joe rolled onto the Jaguars practice fields today at 9:30 a.m. That’s when media was allowed in and the Bucs were supposed to be finding their way on the field to warm up.
They weren’t there. (more…)
So Joe’s heart sputtered today in Jacksonville seeing last year’s standout stud rookie defensive players Calijah Kancey and YaYa Diaby not practicing against the Jaguars.
Diaby’s ankle injury is no mystery. And he’s very bullish about returning healthy for opening day. But Kancey’s injury is an unknown.
Head coach Todd Bowles was very tight-lipped about it after practice, offering no insight.
Joe fished around a bit more and didn’t get any info other than Kancey is not expected to practice tomorrow. At least Kancey looks good cheering on his teammates.
Security detail this morning for Todd Bowles.
So the Bucs and Jaguars lined up on the Jacksonville practice fields today for a two-hour work session in pads. However, tackling to the ground was not permitted.
What about quality pushing and shoving? Or a fight or two typical of a joint practice? (more…)
UPDATED: The Bucs really lucked out with YaYa Diaby’s sprained ankle, which at the time of the injury weeks ago looked much worse than it is. Will the Bucs be so lucky with Payne Durham? (more…)
