Impressing in Pittsburgh today.
The roughly one-third of Bucs fans that hoped/expected Jamel Dean to be out of the starting lineup this season — Sage Ira Kaufman included — probably will have to wait a year, or until Dean has his annual injury. (more…)
He’s #AtlantaReady.
So Steelers media relations made it abundantly clear with some not-so-clear directives about reporting on practice today between the Bucs and the Steelers from the Crib that Antonio Brown built. (more…)
Chris Godwin.
Maybe this says something. Maybe it doesn’t.
Injured All-World left tackle Tristan Wirfs and injured stud Bucs receiver Chris Godwin did not travel with the team to Pittsburgh on Tuesday and were not at practices on Wednesday and Thursday. Joe has no expectation they’ll be on the sidelines Saturday night against the Steelers in Week 2 of the preseason.

So in this case, Joe will describe a cool moment. (more…)

Offers fans inside look at drafting.
Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht has made quite a name for himself when it comes to the draft. And it’s well-documented that Licht puts a very high value on character. (more…)
Reminisces?
Once upon a time in the NFL, there were six worthless preseason games. For NFL players, that made for a grueling summer. (more…)
Todd Bowles
Without coaching a game, Todd Bowles apparently has flipped one of the loud voices in intelligent NFL media into his corner. (more…)
Out.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles today took a page from the NHL. And it has Joe spooked. (more…)
Todd Bowles is tight-lipped about UDFA Desmond Watson.
As Joe typed in today’s practice notes, Joe did not see Chris Godwin, Tristan Wirfs or Rachaad White at practice today at Thornton Mellon University (sarcasm alert). (more…)
Bucs begin practice at Carnegie Mellon University Wednesday morning.
Joe is waiting for next week’s media schedule to be released but this may be the second-last open practice of the year. Tomorrow the Bucs have their joint practice with the Steelers. (more…)
The Bucs are on the field at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, an underwear football practice session on turf. Current temperature is 73 degrees.
