To meet Tuesday’s mandatory roster limit of 53 players, the Bucs started shedding players today.
Of course, no huge names were sent packing but a few guys who showed some things in training camp and worthless preseason games are now on the market.
Receiver Tanner Knue, running back Ramon Jefferson, tight end David Wells, corner Andrew Hayes and linebacker Kalen DeLoach are among the first Bucs casualties, as documented by Greg Auman of FOX Sports. Per Auman, the Bucs have waived 12 players.
The deadline to cut the roster to 53 is 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Cryptic message.
