Richard Sherman Picks Bucs To Win NFC South

Richard Sherman weighs in.
Amazon Prime NFL analyst and former Bucs, 49ers and Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is never one to shy away from a strong opinion.
And since Sherman played in Todd Bowles’ defense and maintained relationships with Lavonte David and Jamel Dean, Joe remains interested in Sherman’s take on all things Bucs.
Remember when Sherman refused to take Tampa Bay seriously despite its strong record midway through last season? Joe remembers. Sherman claimed, “I know some things.” What exactly did he know?
It’s time for a new season and Sherman feels great about Tampa Bay’s chances. On his podcast, Sherman picked the Bucs to win the NFC South and noted the Bucs are the only team capable of running away with the division, though he doesn’t think that will happen.
Sherman sees the all the elements for a dynamic Bucs offense in place, but it’s on the defense side where he thinks the strength of the team will lie.
Sherman loved the Bucs’ draft and believes that simply from impressive highlight clips this summer, Rueben Bain answered any questions about his short arms and his ability to be a force.
Interestingly, Sherman didn’t reference the Bucs feeling the loss of his friend Jamel Dean, but he did note that the play of Zyon McCollum and Jacob Parrish and how they “stand up” at cornerback will be critical.
Sherman talked about the complexities and intricacies of the Todd Bowles defense and how it can be challenging for corners. He didn’t seem overly impressed: “[Bowles] does a great job confusing offenses but sometimes it can feel a bit unsound,” Sherman said.

I kind of like what he said here, because it is a lot like what I have been thinking.
Not saying the Bucs will be the shocker 13 win team in the league this year. But in the NFC South, they are the only team I could see with a chance to do so.
And for the record, I picked 11 wins, not 13.

The NFC EAST and the AFC NORTH had lower win totals than the NFC SOUTH.
NFC SOUTH is an improving division and it will be evident this season.
Bucs title hopes will come down to the last game of the season again.

Dunno about Cincinnati this weekend, just got a bad vibe from the tone coming out of Jax. But, the Cleveland game should be really fun to watch in week 2. And hopefully they have the Browns wearing that really dark brown jersey, nice and “cooling” for them in the late September game.

Question to SlyPirate and all the other people predicting a doom and gloomy season:
If the Bucs do win the division by at least two games, will it be because the three other teams had to deal with so many injuries? Remember, they aren’t an excuse.
And yes, if my 11 win prediction is wrong by 4-5 games it will be because I overrated the talent on the team and the coach should (and would) be relieved of his duties.

I hate to say it but I’m predicting a 7-10 or 8-9 season. Todd Bowles does not coach with discipline and no accountability. I believe that is his downfall, This team needs a hard no nonsense coach.

Sherman has good takes on teams and players. When he talks, especially about the Bucs, I listen. I wonder who he’s talking to with the players? AW3?
As much as I think the Bucs defense has improved, a healthy Joe Burrow in Cincinnati is a huge task. Cincinnati is still weak at OT, so let’s see if the Bucs can knock down Burrow a lot with our edge rush. If he has time, he can tear up any defense in the league.
The Bucs offense will have trouble running the ball with Dexter Lawrence in the game. The Bucs OL is technically good but lacks the nastiness to enforce their will in the run game. I hope Z-Rob runs a lot of screens instead of wide zones.

With that being said lol lol Hopefully the Bucs are competitive at least.
I want to enjoy this Sunday like week 1 1980 in Cincinnati when they beat the Bengals, yes I watched the game live too lol
