Benjamin Morrison Talks About His First-Ever Joint Practice
August 25th, 2026
Guess who was on the field today practicing against the Jaguars in Jacksonville?
Second-year cornerback Benjamin Morrison was hitting people, and he was on punt coverage and return teams. It was a welcome sight. Morrison has been battling a long-standing hamstring issue and hasn’t practice much this summer, and he didn’t play in the Bucs’ first two preseason games.
Joe caught up with Morrison after practice.
“It felt good. It’s just a blessing to be out here,” Morrison said. “It feels good. First-ever joint practice in two years. So, I’m just thankful to be competing.”
Morrison added he built confidence today, the kind you can’t build on the sidelines.
Will Morrison make his preseason debut on Friday night against the Jaguars? That’s the plan, Morrison said, but he truly emphasized that he’s approaching every day as one day at a time.
Today, Joe saw Morrison with the second-team Bucs defense a few times (Joe primarily watched the Bucs offense). Joe saw Morrison with a nice pass breakup over the middle with safety help. Two plays later he was seen beaten deep down the left sideline but the pass was underthrown and Morrison recovered to break it up.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of that, but I didn’t…
This is a landmark. And congrats on your first joint practice Benjamin!
Prayers that his body reacts well tomorrow and we start putting this all behind us. I just wanna see him play and I hate the way his career has started for him!

Ok I will make the first comment. No comment!

Parish got mossed today for a td dunno if I would like him outside permanently seems kinda short he will probably still play alot in the nickle.

I’m pretty sure in the first two games of the preseason that the defense has been playing a lot more man to man. I know it’s preseason, and you’re not game planning, but I’ll take any ray of hope that we might finally be seeing the end of the super soft zone garbage that has plagued this defense for years. If we just get more aggressive play from the corners, that will help really help the pass rush. If they do, in fact, plan on being more aggressive in the secondary, get Yaya extended now on the cheap before he blows up.

Benjamin ‘The Benchwarmer” Morrison… He was terrible even when he was healthy last year.
August 25th, 2026 at 4:30 pm
Munch – I agree. Seems Bowles has known we’ve had crap pass rush the past few years and feels forced to play soft zone. IF, and that’s a big IF, we can put consistent pressure on the QB, I’m sure Bowles would prefer to play man.
No more Joe Trying Shorinca running past the QB over and over producing nothing.
Hoping for the best while preparing for the worst.

Corners will be a problem all year but if we get a pass rush all is well
August 25th, 2026 at 5:17 pm
Pewter Report already posted that the Bucs looked like, well, a team coached by Todd Bowles today against a team with the guy who should have been head coach of the Bucs!!!!!!!!

Ben is a 4th corner

I have been saying for awhile the secondary is pretty scary not in a good way.
Hats off to Morrison he is healthy. Hopefully he can stay that way and develop quickly. Yes Parrish is short but he is likely the best cb we have. Hopefully McColumn continues to play well. However after last year I don’t trust him.

God son energy. No consequences, no accountability, just excuses and propaganda.
Another installed person in the Bucs organization. Lots of that going around.

Glad the kid is banking some reps. If he can get and stay healthy he has lock down potential.
Some of you guys just love kicking people when they’re down. Sometimes it takes a minute (or even a few seasons) for players to start contributing.

Zion got beaten on a 50 yarder today. Parrish got beat for TD too. Today wasn’t the best showing of the O or the D. On the bright side Kancey had two sacks. And the D stopped their 2 minute drill. Tomorrow is another day! Hopefully the O comes alive.

The odds are against Morrison being what the Bucs thought they’d get when they drafted him last year, but if can stay healthy and at least be average that’s something. I’d be happy to have another CB who doesn’t remind me of Wile E Coyote chasing the Road Runner on every pass.
August 25th, 2026 at 7:51 pm
We really haven’t seen our first team play well. Mayfield said if this was a regular season game the Bucs would have lost. Baker said the defense played with no intensity. That was a problem last year and if that’s the case this year heads will be rolling. The veteran leaders somehow need to light a 🔥 under the defense. I know it’s preseason but a no hair on fire player mentality is a death trap for a team. You can’t let this cancerous mentality wreck a
team ‘s chances for success.
August 25th, 2026 at 8:06 pm
Didn’t see where Baker said the defense played with no intensity. He jumped on the offense for not being physical and for being winded, but I don’t think he jumped on the defense. Did he?
August 25th, 2026 at 8:23 pm
Parrish will be great. He won’t miss any tackles. He’s our new Ronde.
Zion needs to become an elite #1 CB this season
Morrison is in a do or die season.
We will cut Braswell this year. Morrsion is at risk of getting cut next year.
We need to draft a CB in round 1 next year. Hopefully another one in Round 2 as well.
Imagine
1. Zion
2. 1st round pick
3. Parrish at nickle
4. 2nd round pick as backup
5. Morrsion as a backup
6. Scott as backup nickle and safety.
7. Ayden Garnes
Please Licht! Draft 2 corners next year!
I want insane depth for the next 3 years.
August 25th, 2026 at 8:24 pm
Morrison should be the 4th or 5th CB behind Parrish, McCollum, Garnes, and maybe even Josh Hayes.
Maybe Morrison can sneak in there above Hayes on the depth, but he shouldn’t be above any of the other 3 guys.
August 25th, 2026 at 8:28 pm
Only thing I gotta say is Morrison needs to be true to himself. If it doesn’t feel right stop lay down and don’t kill it. We need him but, we can go without him all the time just limited and super cautious. Joe do you remember Galloway? And Mike and this omen placed on them and their hammies lol 😆 Well next man up, Morrison..
August 25th, 2026 at 8:33 pm
I got a duplicate for something I never spoke about before Joe. No more man that’s like 6 in 8 ,10 days bro. Maybe my 2 cents doesn’t matter, I’ll apologize for whatever but I keep it clean for an old fart. I I’ll look elsewhere for my 2 cents.

CosmoKramer, there are no Bucs players related to anyone in the Buc organization who are relatives. Good god, pick up a dictionary you moron.
August 26th, 2026 at 9:06 am
Good for Benmo. Now maybe he can finally show whether he has the talent he was drafted for or not. A good year by him will solve a lot of issues in the secondary. A lot of hoping this year for rookies and 2nd year players to perform at starter level talent. It’s unlikely, but it could happen. At least we have a bunch of veterans to help level it out. Secondary could be our undoing. Rooting for Morrison to develop. Go Bucs!!!!!!
August 26th, 2026 at 9:25 am
@Teacherman,
I’d like to imagine Zyon as gone to another team.
I agree we need some additional help, but not our first two picks. Another year of seasoning may be enough for Parrish, Scott, and Morrison to develop and maybe Garnes is the real deal. Some FA may come available if JL can be awake long enough to sign them early instead of dumpster diving.
IMO, we need to go DT with the 1st pick or maybe QB if the pick is there soon enough. Two more guys in the secondary with no experience may not be the best plan. I don’t hate it though.
