Glimpse Of The Future?
August 25th, 2026
Didn’t see me?
Was it a mirage? Or was it a peek into the future?
Joe loved how the defense came out and balled out on Saturday night, smothering the Chiefs.
Yeah, no Pat Mahomes. Joe gets it. But still, the Bucs held last year’s Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker to only four yards rushing on two carries.
That’s something, isn’t it?
Brooke Cersosimo, typing for NFL.com, believes the play of the Bucs’ starting defense may have made KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles crack a smile.
To Todd Bowles’ delight (if there is such a thing), the Bucs received [strong] results from their defensive starters, forcing backup QB Justin Fields and the Chiefs’ offense into back-to-back three-and-outs. Making his highly anticipated debut was first-round edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr., who played just six snaps but showed his explosiveness and strength to blow by Chiefs right tackle Kahlil Benson on a Reggie White signature hump move before exiting the game with the rest of the starters.
Joe finds it funny while folks were ooohhhing and aaahhhing over Rueben Bain, YaYa Diaby was this-close to a strip on the same play. That’s what got Joe’s attention.
If that is what we can expect from the Bucs’ edge rush, the defense should be so much better than the choking dog it was after last year’s bye.

It’s a worthless preseason game vs a scrub QB and furniture movers.
In less than three weeks reality is coming like a ton of bricks.
Save the fake hype for the real season. Because that’s all you have.
Putting lipstick on a pig changes nothing.
The pig is Todd Bowles.

Ya Ya. LFG
August 25th, 2026 at 12:24 am
i would not be surprised if yaya has a breakout year, and really comes into his own with bain wreaking havok on the other side
August 25th, 2026 at 12:25 am
Excellent article. Everyone saw Yaya almost do that, and Bain’s hump move was the bomb. Go Bucs!
August 25th, 2026 at 12:27 am
Smh I had to rewatch the clip and yeah Yaya was this close. Didn’t even notice him that’s so sad. He better when all of his matchups because I think Bain will get chipped or double teamed. I’m excited to see us get 5 sacks on Borrow in week 1. Baker will run up the scoreboard forcing the Bengals to pass. Leaving the revamped defense to feast

The only pig here is you what an sorry excuse for a fan
August 25th, 2026 at 1:34 am
8 snaps against backups. No one I respect takes small samples from preseason seriously. It’s unlikely the veteran writers on this blog do either – not counting the intern/drunk frat kid who occasionally posts as a ‘Joe’ on the weekend.
August 25th, 2026 at 3:52 am
Excited !!!!!
August 25th, 2026 at 4:20 am
Kamara looked like a MAN.
Did Braswell even play?
Pyburn has a sick Romanowski type build. He’s worth keeping.
OLB looks very deep. CB? Not so much.
August 25th, 2026 at 5:32 am
I think Bain is going be very good. Fan expectation of him in my mind is already unrealistic. Get me 7 sacks Bain and I will be happy with that production! To me that is very realistic goal for a rookie. Compared to who he is replacing 7 sacks would be a monster upgrade.
August 25th, 2026 at 5:59 am
Listen, I’m not buying all the hype coming out of camp. I’m a doubting Thomas by nature. That said, you’d be a fool not to like what you saw from those few snaps. Compared to the loafing, incompetence by our defense down the 2-7 crash, this looked like a completely different unit. Bain, Scott, Trot, are a shot of juice. Vets like Anz, A.S., do the same. I liked what I saw. Now lets see it translate to the season.

Cosmo until you show a bet slip, you are just as full of….. hot air as anyone else, stfu
August 25th, 2026 at 6:40 am
YaYa Diaby was this-close to a strip on the same play.

Horseshoes and hand grenades? Or so I’ve been told.
August 25th, 2026 at 6:53 am
Meanwhile a YouTube video popped up about how chiefs fans are ecstatic their second string defense stopped out 1st string offense. People are seeing what they want either preseason.
August 25th, 2026 at 7:12 am
promising but bain was going up against an undrafted player not a starter
August 25th, 2026 at 7:25 am
We all realize preseason means exactly zilch, but I’d much rather watch a meaningless win than a meaningless loss. It is what it is. Might as well enjoy it. I did.
August 25th, 2026 at 7:35 am
I thought KC’s two starting tackles didn’t play, and Bain/YaYa were playing against backups????
August 25th, 2026 at 7:38 am
Thats the reason I said they should extend YaYa not VV. YaYa is going to have a break out rear with Bain on the other side. The Bucs could resign him now for about 17 million. YaYa puts up 10 plus sacks and it’s going to cost 27 million.

Cosmo Kramer is a troll.
Should go by ElaineBettis because the posts sound much more like her than Kramer… who as a “hipster dufus” would never type such negativity.
August 25th, 2026 at 7:50 am
Could care less about anything preseason Good or bad. I expect 3-1 or 2-2 out of the gate. Let’s see how the team fairs win/loss and how they actually look in-game from games 5-8. That’ll be the tell. Games 9-12 include at bears and at lions while games 13-16 include at ravens and lambs at home.
Getting to 6-2 looks like a must for Todd again and then he’ll have to keep the team from slumping or imploding second half. That’s a tall order for Todd. But if he can do that and break 4-5 that gets him to his holy grail mark of 10-7.
Top of tops for Todd.

Can this D Line be special if it stays healthy? Sure thing. But I think it may have been Parcells (someone correct me if I’m wrong) who said “All potential means is you haven’t done it yet”.
Not being negative, actually I am pretty optimistic. But proof will be shown the next 17 Sundays.
Remember, Kenny Pickett set the preseason record for qb stats a few years ago.
August 25th, 2026 at 8:09 am
Obvious..or maybe its oblivious..starts his post with “could care less”
All you need to know about him and his knowledge.
You could care less? Really? How much less??
August 25th, 2026 at 8:19 am
How would I show a betting slip on this blog????
The low IQ of some of the posters here is quite shocking.
Trust me when I say that I bet on the games.
I clean up betting against the wide open Swiss cheese defense of Todd Bowles.
Guaranteed profits every year. Todd is a born loser.
August 25th, 2026 at 8:23 am
Yes that defense did really nice. Bain looked pretty good, Yaya has someone to teach him now, not just give pointers and blah blah. Nelly showed up again to! But if Pyburn stays in the NFL, I think he gets on the roster and Nelly could be in trouble. Nice glimpse!!! Let’s Go!!!
August 25th, 2026 at 8:53 am
i was impressed by the play of the dishwashers. the parking lot attendants not so much.
August 25th, 2026 at 9:16 am
I wouldn’t make much about a small sample size during a meaningless preseason game against a mix of starters and backups running a vanilla offense.
August 25th, 2026 at 9:44 am
LETS SEE IT WEEK1
GO BUCS!!!!
August 25th, 2026 at 10:22 am
Bain’s hump move and Walker’s spin move have me excited. I don’t think YaYa can do either, after three or four years. He can be good and get his share of clean up sacks if he stays tenacious. Muhammad, too. That’s probably how he got 11 sacks last year. I am excited about the edge guys.
Tackles, too, especially if Kancey can stay healthy. He can make moves like Bain and Walker.
August 25th, 2026 at 10:25 am
The most important thing for a player to come out with in preseason is his Health!
August 25th, 2026 at 10:47 am
Ide bet cosmos future wouldn’t last long if he wasnt able to hide behind that keypad! Making friends as usual..
August 25th, 2026 at 11:01 am
Kramer you aren’t a Bucs fan so why are you here?
August 25th, 2026 at 11:47 am
Stpetematt Kramer is a Aints fan. Poor guy prob has one of the worst lives living in his mommas basement asking for the meat loaf. Have some pitty on his poor soul
August 25th, 2026 at 11:59 am
Stpetematt. I don’t know whether cigar store Indian Kramer is a Bucs or not. But I do know that I am a Bucs fan, and I am as critical of Bowels as Kramer is. Why? Because of Bowels, the Bucs finished2 – 4 against incredibly weak opponents. Bowels literally lost players. Bowels has no accountability. Bowels makes the Bucs less than they could be. There is no conflict in being a Bucs fan and Bowels detractor. And the vast majority of Bucs fans wish he was not the head coach or defensive coordinator.
How about it Kramer? Are you a Bucs fan?
August 25th, 2026 at 12:32 pm
Bosch…injuries and losing thats what kills players ,just look what it does to the fans. I dont care who the HC is if the players gave up its on them ,they’re all grown men!!
August 25th, 2026 at 12:34 pm
And what does the personal attacks do,I know Kramer doesn’t like it when they’re directed to him..Cosmo just cant grow up
August 25th, 2026 at 12:38 pm
Well, I’m a Buc fan since 1978 and I have turned into a troll because of Bowles. I wasn’t even going to watch Buc games this year – – but here I am. (sigh)
BTW, SF fans at in an uproar over their owner getting caught with a sex worker. The guy is a real dick. He has interfered with elections in Santa Clara, where they play, to get favorable terms for 49rs. He’d fit right in Wash. DC.
August 25th, 2026 at 2:46 pm
Fan – no clue what you are asking.
August 25th, 2026 at 2:51 pm
They got eaten in the joint practice with the jaguars. Coen knows bowles like the back of his hand. As does every other coach in the league.
August 25th, 2026 at 3:00 pm
A one-trick pony. Guru? Maybe at one point in his career
August 25th, 2026 at 4:49 pm
I love this D line with the addition of Robinson. Vita and Kancey and Nacho. Not running against that front!
August 25th, 2026 at 7:25 pm
I’m pretty sure this season the Bucs improved the D line and linebackers. That can’t hurt. Hopefully the secondary plays better as a result. Today Jax mostly picked apart the secondary. Sounds like last season! I sure hope things change in September!!
