Highlights Of “Quarterback” Episode 1

July 16th, 2026

Joe understands not everyone subscribes to Netflix. And Joe supposes some consider streaming a show too cumbersome a fight, thinking they may come in contact with the explosive diarrhea parasite as a result.

So for those unwilling or unable to watch “Quarterback,” Joe has highlights from Episode 1 below. Mayfield is featured for roughly 12-15 minutes each episode.

EPISODE 1

* Baker Mayfield is heard grunting before the Miami game. It was eerily similar to the way Joe grunted for days after the loss.

* Mayfield plays p!ssed off. It’s his way of motivating himself and keeping himself hyped.

* There was a clip of national sports radio host Colin Cowherd offering up some of his always-spot-on analysis.

“[The Bucs] will win the division again. And Baker is the reason why.”

* Baker Mayfield talks about his diet and gives a hat-tip to Dave Portnoy. “No cheese. Everybody knows the rules.” Guess Mayfield isn’t into cheese pizza.

* Mayfield had a touching comment about his wife Emily. “Emily has definitely made me softer.” Mayfield soft?

* After Mayfield threw his first touchdown pass of the season to Emeka Egbuka during the Week 1 win over Atlanta, Teddy Bridgewater goes to Mayfield, who is sitting on the bench, “That was a fun-ass drive right there.”

* When talking about beating Atlanta to “Quarterback” producers, you can see Mayfield’s eyes light up.

* Right before the final game-winning drive in Week 1, Mayfield said, “These moments, you find out what your team is really made of.”

* As he entered the huddle to start the game-winning drive, Mayfield channeled his inner Ric Flair. “Let’s go win the f@cking football game, man, WOO!”

* After the game-winning touchdown pass to Egbuka, Mayfield just said three times, “F@CK YEAH!” and pumped his fist. When he got back to the sideline, Bridgewater told him, “That’s how you play quarterback.”

Sorry, but I don’t believe it could even be possible, for me to be ANY LESS ‘interested’ in this, than what I am right now!!!!

Pizza with no cheese? Kill me first.

I just flew back from Seattle and binge watched the entire series, it was awesome! I have to admit that I skipped a few of the scenes with Cam Ward as I just didn’t find his that interesting, but Baker , Jayden and Flacco were really good. It gives you a different perspective on their lives and how hard they really do work to get ready for the next game. Being a 26 year Active Duty Soldier I unfortunately understand that your job takes a toll on your body but wow those guys are tough.

  4. Bojim Says:

    Pay him.

  5. First Last Says:

What a sad group of QB’s to follow as all of them just lost so much. I skipped most of Jayden Daniels and Cam Ward as they are just not interesting. Flacco and Baker steal the show, though I’ll probably go back and watch some of Cam Ward. Jayden’s parts were mostly about his mom in the beginning so I skipped.

  6. Beeej Says:

I initially planned to skip the other 3, but found Flacco a real interesting dude

That’s not the rule. The rule is no cheese pizza. Pepperoni and chees? Fine. Supreme with cheese? Great. My personal favorite, mushroom with cheese? Excellent.

    Cheese by itself? No-go.

    That’s the rule.

  8. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

I watched the whole thing. One takeaway is the Mayfields enjoy a good cocktail.

    My kind of people

Look, if you’re not going to use your Superbowl Corvette, sell it to me or auction it for charity.

  10. Crickett Baker Says:

    TY, Joe.

    He deserves $50M. Pay him!

  12. MelvinJunior Says:

One, who has been in FOUR ‘different’ TEAMS for throughout his entire career, and has never actually DONE ANYTHING!? Saying that HE “deserves” and all of this!? I mean, come TF on. GTFO. It’s stupidity. Pure IGNORANCE. Though, that’s exactly what happens, when you allow for YOUR “EMOTIONS” to completely takeover.

  13. 3.28.Evans Says:

What did he say after his 4th quarter interception in the second Atlanta game?

  14. First Last Says:

I need you to talk about the highlight of Kam Johnson stopping his route and Baker throwing the INT

  15. Coconut Doughnut Says:

Just to clarify, pizza with no cheese or no cheese pizza. The Sage will decide.
