Sneak Peak Into Baker Mayfield “Quarterback” Role

June 27th, 2026

Tristan Wirfs gives Bucs fans a peak into the Netflix “Quarterback” docuseries, which features Baker Mayfield.

Joe’s really looking forward to next month.

No, not for training camp (“this Joe” always hated training camp in high school. And that same sour taste lingers all these years later). Instead of getting up at dawn in order to dodge traffic, Joe’s breaking down this year and getting an Airbnb.

An extra two hours of sleep each morning is well worth the cost.

But Joe is stoked that on July 14, this season of “Quarterback” will debut on Netflix. It’s an NFL Films docuseries that picks a handful of quarterbacks to follow around daily for a full season to give viewers an insight into their lives.

And this year Baker Mayfield will be featured.

In a Zoom sitdown with Aileen Hnatiuk of WFLA-TV Channel 8, which was streamed on the station’s website, Bucs left tackle Tristan Wirfs gave Bucs fans a glimpse of what they could expects.

First, Wirfs, who may be Mayfield’s best friend on the team, said he did an interview with NFL Films for the show. So Wirfs expects to be seen. Wirfs also said twice a week last season, Mayfield was mic’d up. Every game the Bucs played last season, and once a week in practice.

But the show isn’t just about football practice or football games, or Mayfield’s time spent at One Buc Palace. NFL Films also brings the viewers into Mayfield’s private and family life away from One Buc Palace or a stadium on Sundays.

Joe hopes the series sheds light on just how beat up Mayfield was last year. Joe’s not saying he wants to see Mayfield in pain, no! But if NFL Films shows Mayfield really forced himself to get on the field when maybe he shouldn’t have, it will certainly soothe some fears Joe has about Mayfield’s quality of play coming this fall.

Keep Baker away from the public eye in 2026. Maybe then he has a chance to not suck like he did last season with his commercials and MVP chatter inflating his head.

Keep 3.28.Evans from posting. Maybe he won’t act like a 12 year old who got cut from his Junior Varsity football team. Just maybe he might support the team that he is supposed to be a fan of.

@99 The big fella ⬆️, to be fair to 3.28 Evans , most 12 year olds would get cut from their JV football team since JV is usually for 9th and 10th graders. Football much?

I think we will see just how much Baker was hurt last year. That is kind of the problem on a couple of fronts. 1st the team had no one at back up qb that even wanted to step on the field. Teddy 2 gloves had no business being on the team. That goes to a front office and coaches problem. 2nd Baker goes all out and doesn’t ever want to come off the field as he inevitably gets hurt every year. It’s a catch 22 with him. The plays that fans and other players love seeing him make are what also risk his ability to stay healthy enough to make them.

That dude never tried out for anything other than a drag show, maybe cheerleading. The only football he ever touched is probably a nerf ball.

People who do things don’t sit in their diapers and critique other people doing things – unless they’re directly asked. Whiny girl has not been asked but shows up to diss – Todd, Baker, Tez, Bucky, EE, Jason, strength and conditioning coaches, assistant coaches, etc etc etc. a dozen times a day. The only people he praises are on other teams.

The Internet is the only place a twat like her could get away talking smack like she does…..so she’ll be here to the cows come home

LOL Simple Jack and the fat cheerleader bonding over some 1970s elementary school banter. Enjoy some muffins with those Pom Poms.

Funny Joe I couldn’t WAIT to get on the field in practice. Just a difference in folks, although some of those practices went too long I think.

So name calling makes you adult?….. hello, McFly, adults talking here

Expense the AirBnB, Joe! You’ve earned it!

Referring to 3.28 as a 12 yr old is an insult to all the 12 yr olds out there.
