Luke Goedeke Expects Elite Bucs Offensive Line Play
May 18th, 2026The entire Bucs starting offensive line will play this season at 28 years old or younger, if the fivesome can stay on the field.
That’s a big “if.” Right tackle Luke Goedeke, for example, has missed 10 games over the past two seasons because of injuries. Tristan Wirfs has missed six games in that span. Cody Mauch missed nearly all of last season. Ben Bredeson lost the final six games of last season.
Does Joe expect the Bucs’ offensive line to stay healthy through the 2026 season? Of course not. But Joe expects the unit to stay heathier and be downright dominant when together.
The line is that good.
Speaking in a new Buccaneers-produced video, Goedeke says several teams’ offensive lines talk about being the very best but he believes the Bucs’ line can and will walk the walk.
“That’s kind of the caliber of players that we are and that we uphold the standards to,” Goedeke said. “You look at our starters … we have some of the best O-linemen in the NFL. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be a top O-line unit in the NFL.”
Joe agrees, but health is the ultimate wild card. It also would be nice to see third-year center Graham Barton step up his game to a new level.
Goedeke added he looks forward to the Bucs running “quite a bit” of outside zone rushing plays, an uncommon sight last season.

At least one of these guys will be out for an extended period of time before we even get to game 1.

I’ve seen lots of good offensive lines in my days. And going into last year that line was the foundation for my belief, along with Baker. Wish we could have gotten McDonald for our D-Line in the draft, but Robinson and all of our DLine has potential.
OLine and DLine was trash last year. I don’t care about any stats or grades for them. I watched every game. Every play. Both groups sucked.
I’m sure if the OLine stays healthy they will be one of the best. I’m hoping the DLine becomes one of the best.
If those 2 things happen I can’t see us losing many games. Not many games at all.

Fingers crossed they all stay healthy this season.

Health is the ultimate wild card for every NFL team. It’s the same story every year

Let’s wait until December
Everyone is healthy and talking smack in May

we’ll see…
even tho Mauch said he’s all healed up and ready to go, i still expect him to miss sometime this year…
i think Barton would be a better Guard than Center…heck he’s shown to be a better tackle than center imo
with that said, if theres a unit on the team that has to potential of being Great/#1 in the league, its the OLINE
GO BUCS!!!!!

At least Logan Hall isn’t here to ruin an OL’s career in practice. lol.

Hopefully the depth is better, because injuries always occur and depth at Guard especially was an Issue.

BINGO!!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!!

Now that Goedeke got his 160lbs dumbells, sky is the limit!!!
May 18th, 2026 at 12:01 pm
That’d be a good start, but can our skill positions match that?
May 18th, 2026 at 12:15 pm
Um, i dont know….better get that Rook trained up fast….this is why I wanted Ioane. Gotta keep Baker on his feet and open lanes for the rb’s!
May 18th, 2026 at 12:28 pm
I liked Ioane too but he got picked at 14 and Bain dropped in our Lap!
May 18th, 2026 at 12:34 pm
Unlike LAST year, we won’t have practice squad castoffs acting as depth
May 18th, 2026 at 12:40 pm
You’re going to have a tough time being elite if you can’t avoid the yellow flag fever. How many flags per game is OK Luke? Didn’t you have 6 or so in one game? The discipline will have to be much better. I hope someone in the coaching group starts holding players accountable. Seems like that left with BA.

Im not “waitin till December” Go Fu@kn Bucs!, im ready to knock burrow on his azz!
May 18th, 2026 at 1:33 pm
Please stay healthy, fellas! We need you all if we want to go deep into the playoffs.

160 pound dumbbells is pretty crazy. Dude is strong as an ox.

The Bucs need quality depth everywhere. I don’t have any concerns about the starting OL. The question will be the quality of the backups. At OT, I feel ok with Heck and Chukwuma. Inside, I’m not so confident. The best test of the backups will be a preseason padded scrimmage. Any news on a scrimmage this year Joe?
May 18th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
Pretty sure Heck isn’t on the team anymore.

Bullish on bucs off line. Still wish they would have drafted/traded for a true center and move Barton to guard where he could be an all pro potentially. Very athletic group..Mauch and Goedeke I believe were tight ends at one time in their football careers and we know about Wirfs athleticism. Chukwuma is a possible diamond in the rough. barton is going to be a rock solid player but position is question .
May 18th, 2026 at 4:13 pm
Just do your job
May 18th, 2026 at 4:35 pm
I hope Chukwuma did a ton of strength training in the off-season and that will make all the difference in his play. His footwork is great. Glad we have Schrauth and Skule again as potential backups- though maybe Chuk can take Skule’s spot on the depth chart. Would be great to see!

Barton’s development was messed with last season. Make no mistake, the kid is a major asset to the OL despite his up and down seasons.
How many Cs in the league can kick out to LT and hold their own? I don’t think many.
He’s needs to stay at C and be beside some decent Gs.

Guess no one saw that Graham Barton played great at tackle,
Then SUCKED all season long at Center.
He’s a great offensive linemen,
But he is a terrible Center.
Bredesen is an ok Guard, but a good Center.
We’ll see if the Bucs are so hard headed, that their commitment to Barton at Center hurts the team.
The “we drafted him to play center- so he’s a center!” Attitude.
Or
We play the best guy at the best spot.
Let’s see
