Emeka Egbuka Wants Bucs To Run More — So Long As He Totes The Rock

“You, running the ball? Why?”
You don’t hear this too often from a receiver.
Most (diva) receivers not only holler for offensive coordinators to put the ball in the air more, they also scream to receive the ball, too.
Bucs receiver Emeka Egbuka (surprisingly) seems to ever so slightly embrace this.
Appearing on “Up and Adams” this week, starring NFL it-girl Kay Adams, Egbuka said he wants Bucs offensive coordinator Zac Robinson to call more running plays. Yes, you read that right: a wide receiver wants more runs.
So long as Egbuka is the guy carrying the mail.
“I definitely want the ball any way I can get it,” Embuka smiled. “I take pride in being that Swiss army knife.”
Wow, that’s the very first time the soft-spoken Egbuka has ever displayed even the faintest hint of divaism. Egbuka said his confidence in running comes from personal experience. Until he got to high school, Egbuka said he was always a running back.
“That’s something that I’ve always felt very comfortable doing,” Egbuka said. “I played running back my entire career, up until, like, my freshman year in high school.
“So all of middle school, all of elementary school, I only played running back. So I definitely feel comfortable with the ball in my hands.”
At Ohio State, Egbuka averaged six yards a carry. He ran the ball 24 times from his sophomore through his senior seasons for 145 yards. Joe doesn’t know how many of those attempts came on end arounds or how many (if any) times Egbuka lined up in the backfield.
Joe doesn’t know how many chances Egbuka will have running the ball with the Bucs this season. Robinson has mouths to feed in the Bucs backfield as it is. But for a change-of-pace in a tight moment in the game, if it appears a defense is vulnerable to a Benn’d-around, why not?
Egbuka ran twice last season, once for no gain and once for nine yards.
Joe remembers Chris Godwin converting one of the most important first downs in Bucs history on a Benn’ed-around. So why not use Egbuka that way while he’s young and still has fresh, healthy wheels?

Good advice on the trolls. More simply, if the trolls don’t like the team go get a new one. There are always opportunities to improve the team through FA, draft and trades. Suggestions along those lines are legit but endless whining about coaches and players is weird.

The Bucs won the Super Bowl under Tom BRADY. Play together as a team. The team came first over Individual results 🙌.
The Bucs lost that mentality last year. Remember when Antonio Brown flipped out and tore off his jersey 🇯🇪 The Bucs never recovered because they lost that team mentality and last year was a repeat of that incident. The team didn’t come first. Until they embrace that mentality, expectations will never be achieved. What’more important, the money or immortality. For decades the Bucs were horrifically bad. BRADY changed that.
What will players and people remember over time- the money the players made or the Super Bowl 🏈 they won.
One is a legacy and the other dwindles over time.

Absolutely false. Having operated plenty of websites and discussion forums in the past I can tell you that the BEST way to rid yourself of trolls is to have clearly defined RULES and have moderators that enforce those rules. As far as I can tell JBF has neither.

And EE didn’t exactly say he wanted to run the ball more. At least that’s not what I took away from the interview.
When asked about rushing, he said he was a running back early on, had run it a few times @ ohio state, would be cool with doing anything to help the team and like any competitor wanted the ball in his hands.
I got zero “divaism” (actually the opposite) vibe.
I DO think Zac might experiment with WRs in the backfield ala JSN @ Seattle. Wouldn’t mind seeing Chris or EE in some creative alignments back there but I don’t expect EE to be running any more than he has recently – a few times per year.

There really is no solution without the owners/operators taking some kind of steps.
Without some type of intervention by the Joes it is what it is. A small group of whiners repeating the SAME krap every single day and others who bicker with them and call them out for what many of us consider (and that matches the definition of) troll posts.
Agree that posts trolling the trolls is a thing, and one I’ve engaged in. But, like a few others (at least) I’m just sick of the repetitive and constant Todd (or Baker) sucks and the players suck and the GM sucks, and there is no hope and it’s all one person/villains fault.
Just ignore them sounds good in theory but in reality it’s never been an actual solution to anything, unfortunately.

Also, delivery drivers who inconsiderately block traffic (when literally adjacent to a parking spot, but they’re unable to parallel park) and think hazard lights are their free pass suck too, but I ain’t gonna blare my horn and start kicking and screaming every time. Definitely agree with the observation that engaging with some of these people is NOT therapeutic in general. I’ve taken breaks from it but that usually entails a break from JBF because they are just so friggin in your face every time you begin to read the comments here.
Your analogy is ok but add to it the delivery driver shows up every day, multiple times a day to block traffic – for years – and if you say anything they hurl childish insults at you. And this went on for years. You might not blare your horn etc… for awhile, but eventually most of us, probably including you, might start raising a little hell. I think that’s where a lot of us are at, just tired of the same drivers blocking the road/s every single day for at least the 3 years I’ve been visiting.

I actually would consider it bro 😊. My record in street fights (along with jail and prisons) is pretty damn good but in all honesty I wouldn’t pass a physical. I’m 66 and had a few heart attacks awhile back – one pretty massive – open heart surgery and all that shlt. My heart was damaged and I’m on blood thinners. My rotator cuffs are shot from lifting for 30+ years. It would still be tempting but we both know you ain’t coming anywhere near me…. We’ve had this discussion before.
