Lavonte David Versus The World

CBS Sports is pounding the drumbeat for Lavonte David to get a bust in Canton.

NFL insider and Lavonte David friend Prickly Pete Prisco of CBS hosted a feature today on David’s retirement and talked about how much David’s play dropped the last two seasons (gasp!) and about how the Bucs are in good position to move on. “I think the whole defense kind of felt that last year,” he said.

Prisco also made a long and loud sales pitch for David to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“When smarter heads prevail and they sit there and they really back him up against the great linebackers who have played this game, I think Lavonte David has a real shot to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame,” Prisco said.

CBS also shared the graphics above and below on David. They’re impressive, and they don’t include his stunning tackles for loss total, which may be David’s greatest case for the Hall.

Prisco predicted David will need at least four years to get in the Hall, for which he starts being eligible in 2031.

Whew those FF stats are crazy.

  2. Tony Says:

I’d be shocked if he doesn’t make it to the hall of fame. So now they lost two possible hall of famers because both him & Evans should be making it in. That should tell the team something right there when you’re gonna be losing Lavonte & Evans in the same year.

  3. Lakeland Says:

    Patrick Willis

    TACKLES –950
    SACKS — 20 5
    FF –16
    INT—8

And Willis has 43 Tackles For Loss
Lavonte had 56 Tackles For Loss–His first 3 seasons alone

    Stud!

  5. Lakeland Says:

The Hall of Fame voting is a joke

  6. Lakeland Says:

I don’t blame T O for boycotting the ceremony and his induction

  7. Badbucs Says:

4 years to get in because of jerks like your buddies Pete. Should be 1st ballot. He would be if he played in NY or Chicago.

  8. Hopein1hand… Says:

It’s awesome that he and Derrick Brooks have the same number of career tackles according to in-stadium counts. There are other tallies that aren’t an exact match but it’s a great stopping point.

  9. toopanca Says:

He competitive with his peers in tackles, 4 behind in interceptions, but 9 ahead in FR and 26 ahead in FF – those numbers indicate game deciding impact.

  10. Lakeland Says:

    toopan ca,

Patrick Willis only had 8 career Ints
And he was 5 time Ist team All- Pro, 7 tine Pro Bowl, in his 7 full seasons
And he was voted into the HOF

All of this All Pro, Pro Bowl, HOF is a sham

  11. Beeej Says:

Didn’t see Luke Kuechly on that list

  12. Bucsfan24 Says:

If Kuechly made it as a first rounder and David does not, then I will lose all faith in the HOF.
