Seems, In the End, Cade Otton Was/Is Happy In Tampa

March 9th, 2026

Happy, and now, more rich.

Back in late-February, Cade Otton sure had a happy post on Instagram. It should have been a tip.

But, NFL players love cryptic social media posts. So Joe didn’t want to jump to conclusions.

Otton posted three pictures of himself with the Bucs, and various family photos (including his dog). The final photo shows Otton walking with his child on the beach.

His message was, “Can’t wait to see what the rest of 2026 brings.”

The post seemed to suggest Otton was very happy and content with his present position in life. He has a wife, a child, a dog, is playing in the NFL and he’s living in paradise.

Again, cryptic social media posts from NFL players could just about mean anything. But now, with Otton signing a three-year deal to return to the Bucs, the message the Bucs’ incumbent starting tight end sent is now simple to decipher.

Otton is very happy with his life and isn’t in a rush to disrupt it.

    Why Gainwell, he’s another Bucky????

  5. Bucfan1988 Says:

Gainwell had 73 receptions last year…
He’ll be the change of pace 3rd down pass catching back to spell Bucky some….

    Anzalone’s contract is 2 yr / $17 million

  6. HeartyDickerson Says:

Nothing makes a team better than signing the same players that have plateaued but giving them more money. Another Jason Licht “his guy” comfort signing

  7. capebuc Says:

Kenyon Sadiq here we come. This deal is just a fat insurance policy.

Great signing. Otton is Mr durable and super consistent. The haters are out in full force today hating on this signing. Let’s go back and look a few years ago at the cam Brate and oj Howard. Otton and Brate are clones and they wanted to get better talent at the position and look I get it Otton isn’t the fastest or makes people miss trust me I get it so the drafted Howard and look how that worked out. Dude as super special on talent but Brate out produced and lasted Howard. Otton takes hit after hit gets up. Puts the team on his back a few years ago and carried the passing offense. He was used wrong last year. He’s a glue guy. This is a great signing.

  9. Alldaway Says:

Bucs overpaid to keep Otton when they need edge rushers. Bucs could have landed a starting edge rusher by letting Otton walk.

    “Why Gainwell, he’s another Bucky????”

    >>> as a receiving RB, in my opinion

Evans to the 49ers. Heard it here first. Times sent me at 2:38 PM.

  12. MelvinJunior Says:

@ BigBucBoi – I heard it over the weekend. As soon as I heard that John Lynch was in major pursuit and was dug-in, I knew it was a DONE DEAL. 💯

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Love it.

  14. BucU Says:

Completely unremarkable signing. He doesn’t move the needle in any way shape or form. Another words a perfect Jason Licht signing.

  15. Mobucs Says:

Maybe Otton is just a straightforward normal guy and not really cryptic at all.
    I like that.

  16. Badbucs Says:

Exactly BucU. I guess they can’t all be stars. We can barely afford the mediocre. JL = Oprah.

  17. Bosch Says:

He does a good job of staying healthy, too.
