Josh Heupel wants a 24-team playoff. Any coach who *wants* a 24-team playoff very likely has a hefty bonus in his contract that he cashes in if his team makes the playoff. These coaches who want every team to make the playoff aren’t advocating this for the better of the game, it’s actually career preservation. At least whiny Jim Boeheim admitted this when he advocated expanding the basketball tournament years ago. The rationale is not what’s good for the game, it’s getting a coach paid and saving his job.
