If Zac Robinson Was Able To Get “Chicken Salad” From…

February 16th, 2026

QB guru?

Did the Bucs luck out and upgrade at offensive coordinator? Obviously, that’s the plan when you launch an offensive coordinator and replace him.

But the Bucs may in fact have done just that. Zac Robinson could be interviewing for head coaching gigs in January if Bucs coach Todd Bowles hit the playcaller lottery again.

If you read between the lines of good friend of Joe and NFL humorist Mike Tanier’s words on the new Bucs offensive coaches, the Bucs may have done very well for themselves.

Offensive coordinator John Grizzard was fired, with not-so-tacit approval from Mayfield. Zac Robinson, a mini-McVay last seen trying to make chicken salad out of Michael Penix and Kirk Cousins in Atlanta, will be Mayfield’s fourth coordinator in four years. NFC South teams love to hire each other’s coaches.

So let’s take Tanier’s words at face value: Robinson was trying to make chicken salad out of Michael Penix and Kirk Cousins (though the Bucs’ defense did a whale of a job making Cousins look like prime, Grade-A, All-Pro chicken salad the past two years).

Tanier may not think much of Penix and Cousins, but it’s not like those two quarterbacks were Teddy Bridgewater or Kenny Pickett or Trey Lance.

So if Robinson was able to make Penix and Cousins capable starters, should one then expect Robinson to work wonders with a Pro Bowl quarterback like Baker Mayfield?

‘Robinson could be interviewing for head coaching gigs in January’

Hopefully if that becomes true, it will be for the Bucs!

  2. Bowles Wasn't Held Accountable Says:

This guy no longer has a Todd Bowles defense to ABSOLUTELY SHRED twice a year.

  3. PSL Bob Says:

Hope springs eternal this time of year.

Anddddddddd…..who is still the Head Coach?

Bright spot in an otherwise down hearted time of year.

Makes you wonder how excited Zac actually is knowing what the Bucs defense is not capable of.

Good ole 509 yards of Cousin’s chicken salad. Zac must be eyeing for Bowles’ job. He knows first hand that Bowles’ defense can easily be sliced apart.

😭 Todd Bowles is still the head coach. 😭 when did Bucs fans become such a bunch of whining babies?

  8. Allen Lofton Says:

Things are looking up for the Bucs offense but the defense remains the mystery. Injuries took it toll on the offense but Injuries went beyond the defense obismule season. Bowles is fortunate the Glazers have a forgiving heart. Now it’s right the ship or walk the plank.

    “Obismule” defense? Perfect description. Lol.

Zak for HC in ’27. I can see it clearly.

Maybe Zac wrote a lot more down during the learning part and took it all in, because he’d like to be a winner.. Time will tell.. out of the last four OC’s two stuck to the lessons they were taught.
