Could Mike Evans Become Top-Five In Touchdown Catches?

February 6th, 2026

How many TD catches left?

Joe sure hopes Mike Evans returns for 2026. Because he sure does look like he’s got gas left in the tank. Baker Mayfield sure thinks Evans will be back.

Evans is sneaking up the charts of the best touchdown catchers in NFL history. He currently has 108 touchdown catches.

The most touchdowns Evans has had in one season was 14 and that came in 2021. Let’s say he matches that. Yeah, Joe knows, that’s unlikely. But hey, play along,

So let’s say Evans catches 14 touchdowns. That would give him 122 and put him one touchdown catch ahead of No. 6 on the all-time list, Larry Fitzgerald.

A dicey goal would be making the top-five. Joe is confident Evans would have to play two more full seasons of healthy football to have a shot. Currently, No. 5 is Marvin Harrison. He had 128 touchdown catches.

So Evans is 20 behind Harrison. If Evans could average at least 10 touchdown catches in the next two seasons, Evans could reach the top five all-time.

Would a feat that would be.

Evans is currently nine behind Davante Adams at No. 7. And Adams, like Evans, doesn’t appear to be slowing down.

Good article! Something to root for. Go Bucs!

  2. Tony Says:

Evans was right there with Adams but Mike got hurt and Adams went nuts this past season. I know he wants to atleast get close to that top 5. Come on Mike come back!

  3. ModHairKen Says:

Jesus, Joe. I’m about to suffer an ocular spasm trying to read the fuzzy print.

    Evans is already HOF.

I hope he gets one more shot at Walter Payton Man of the Year.

  4. Senor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

I can definitely see ME playing 3 more years. If he averaged just 9 TD catches per year, that would give him 135 TDs and in 4th place all time. WOW, how awesome would that be!!

Jerry Rice’s record of 197 TDs will definitely NEVER be broken. That is amazing.

    Joe

Zoom in as much as you can, on the info you want, when you screenshot then crop the pic. Don’t screenshot the whole page then crop, it ruins the quality and makes it hard to read.

Back to the article. It would take a lot to go right for Mike to get 10 tds. Mike is a stretch the field, deep ball guy and thats not the QBs strong suit. Who was throwing him the ball in 2021 when he caught all those tds?

  6. Bucccnasty Says:

I would love that for him and I could see him wanting to pursue that with us. He would be the top WR of all time for TDs for a single team. Everyone else had to bounce around to chase QBs.

  7. Alexandre Nascimento Says:

Adams really made a run this season playing with Staford and M1K3 losing ost of the season

    1st ballot HOFer!!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  9. BradyGronk Fan Says:

Get in the top 5 and he’s a HOFer. Evans probably needs to play 2 more years to solidify his spot. Unfortunately for Bucs fans, he’ll probably be playing for another team. CG at 22 mil and the high draft picks at wrs are the writing on the wall.

  10. Jstone Says:

Well Bee, that would be one Mr Brady….but if you’d take a minute to stop hating and actually look objectively, you’ll notice that he also caught 13 and 11 TDs from Baker the previous two years.

  11. Teacherman Says:

Evans is very smart. He always takes a play off after a big hit or a hard tackle.

He never takes multiple hits in a row.

He has been very smart to sub himself out whenever he gets rocked.

It has extended his career for sure.

Mike hasn’t lost a step. He looks faster than ever.

Mike will sign for 2 more years.

Evans and Godwin will go down as the greatest WR in NFL History.

    You’ll see!

  12. adam from ny Says:

mike needs to play a few more years…like all the top dogs do..they stretch it, and reinvent themselves and their old brittle beat up bodies, down the home stretch of their career…

mike has come too damn far to bail before another few years of football and key stats to climb in the ranks…he’s right there and ready to jump leaps and bounds, if he hangs tough…

i wanna see mike go for the gusto, be top 5 of all time…but he needs 3-4 more years of productive football…and that doesn’t even mean 1k yards a year…just good productive seasons…

this past yer with no stats at all, really hammered his azz actually…

mike should be fresh af after a year of chillin…or sorta chillin

  13. SlyPirate Says:

OMG … LOL … NOT HERE

WHERE DID ATLANTS RANK LAST YEAR IN PASSING TD?

28th – Our new OC was only 4 Passing TD away from dead last in the NFL.

  14. Obvious Says:

These posts always make me wonder what is driving them.

I get it’s the off season. But let’s ask ourselves this? How many games do you think Mike will miss next season? I’d say the under is at least 4.

Mike is a one of a kind first ballot HOF and probably on the Mount Rushmore of Bucs. He epitomizes the definition of Bucs.

But his days of being the man needs to be passed over to EE strictly because of age and hamstring to height/weight ratio.

He should play 60-65% of the snaps next year if he returns. That will keep him effective and just maybe will allow him to get those touchdowns you posted about.

  15. Vanessa Anne Says:

Wow, Joe. Top 5? I agree. Dicey at best.

I can see Mike climbing to the number 7 spot after this year. 10 TDs is very doable for him.

I’m just not sure he’ll come back for the 2027 season. I know he’s been talking like he wants to play for a couple more years, and I hope he does. But something keeps telling me he may decide to hang it up after 2026.

The X factor in all of this is Davonte, who’ll keep racking up TDs as well.

Still, I’d love to see Mike crack the top 5. It would be a real feather in the cap to an already HOF career.

  16. unbelievable Says:

Gonna be tough to get ahead of Davonte at this point considering how many he had this season while Mike was injured. Just another aspect of this season that sucked.
