Falcons Fire Head Coach Raheem Morris
January 4th, 2026
An 8-9 record in consecutive seasons as Falcons head coach got Raheem Morris fired tonight.
The former Bucs head coach was launched after just two seasons along with the Atlanta general manager.
Morris was the Buccaneers’ head coach for three seasons (2009-2011) and was reintroduced to Bucs fans recently via the wonderful Raise The Flags documentary on Amazon Prime chronicling the 50-year history of the Bucs.
Morris and the Falcons closed this season on a four-game winning streak to tie Tampa Bay and Carolina atop the NFC South. Carolina won the division tiebreaker.
Upheaval in the NFC South is always a good thing for the Bucs. Joe thinks the Falcons had a good shot to be dangerous next season under Morris. The Saints closed well and finished 6-11 for their first-year head coach and Carolina found the playoffs in Year 2 of the Dave Canales regime.

And now Todd please!
January 4th, 2026 at 9:47 pm
Can’t be afraid of changing Intel at the top: Licht will continue to get a pass because so many things he’s just so great! Once Bowles walks you will see just how much of a part of this mess he is responsible for!
January 4th, 2026 at 9:47 pm
Ouch they didn’t even wait till Monday
January 4th, 2026 at 9:48 pm
Man, I thought he was safe given the run he had in December.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:48 pm
Atlanta better not have higher standards than Tampa, Glazers. Fire Todd tomorrow and get on the phone!
January 4th, 2026 at 9:48 pm
Wins 4 in a row to end the season, and gets canned.
Sorry to break it to you Blank, but the Falcons aren’t more than an 8-9 team. Then again, if Blank isn’t paying off the refs, then the Falcons aren’t an 8-9 team, so maybe he also knows that.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:49 pm
Wanted to add this to what is means to be a good head coach. Watching the steelers, here is who Mike atomlin is.
192-114-2 regular season record and an 8-11 playoff record through the 2025 season
In 19 years Mike Tomline has never had a sub 500 season.
Todd Bowles has been sub 500 six out of his nine years as HC.
6 out of 9.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:49 pm
His season wasn’t as bad as Bowles’
January 4th, 2026 at 9:50 pm
I think Bowles gets fired. I hope not Jason too.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:51 pm
Hey look, a serious franchise…
January 4th, 2026 at 9:52 pm
So if he’s getting canned in two years, which seems the new normal in the NFL, why is a top prospect going to want to come to Tampa and be stuck with Baker for a year when he just played so bad the last two months he got his coach fired?
This is why people are delusional to think the Bucs are going to get an upgrade at coach this cycle – they’re just going to get another middling option since no hot young prospect is going to want to put their future in the hands of an incredibly inconsistent QB like Baker coming off his worst season in Tampa.
This is the case for just keeping Bowles around for a year. Ride out Bakers deal, then next season, assuming another middling year from both, you fire everyone and reboot – then you should have a pick of the litter as they’re starting from the ground up and will be given more than 2 years to prove themselves of have their career ruined.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:53 pm
When do we get our turn!!
January 4th, 2026 at 9:53 pm
They are getting a head start on coaching searching. We can’t let them beat us to a good coach. Do something Glazers!
January 4th, 2026 at 9:54 pm
Not surprised….and they even won today lol
January 4th, 2026 at 9:54 pm
Wow. He definitely deserved it. They have a lot of good young ‘high-end’ talent. But, I’m surprised they didn’t give him at least ONE-NIGHT to enjoy a WIN!? Geez. Lord, they must’ve REALLY HATED and DESPISED HIM.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:54 pm
It doesn’t mean a franchise is serious just because they fire their head coach. Panthers are a great example. Maybe Dave works out but before that they were firing coaches all the time. Not saying we don’t need a change. Todd has had many chances in a week division.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:54 pm
If Pitt loses, cans Tomlin….then thats our guy!!!
January 4th, 2026 at 9:54 pm
LOL. After the bucs went 0-26, they beat the saints and cardinals. Then their head coaches were fired. So, losing to the bucs gets coaches fired and now beating the bucs gets coaches fired.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:55 pm
Bucs East Coast – If the Bucs can trade for Tomlin, they should absolutely do so.
But the issue is they’re likely going to end up with someone like Mike McCarthy or Matt Nangy – that tier of coach, another middling option.
If they fire Bowles, I really hope I’m wrong and the Glazers have a solid plan in place – but this will not be a hot destination for coaching candidates, not with Baker just getting everyone fired.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:56 pm
Never thought Morris was anything higher than a positions coach. GO BUCS!

I doubt they fire him, he’d be unemployed for about 2 seconds. The Steelers know that, and that’s why they’d probably trade him instead. If I’m the Bucs, I’ll give up a 2nd or 3rd for sure.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:56 pm
Arthur Blank’s brand new yacht is a MONSTER. It’s unbelievable. Has his own private deck. It’s only like OVER 400-FEET LONG, is all.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:57 pm
Well? What are we waiting for? Licht can go as well
January 4th, 2026 at 9:57 pm
Raheem and Todd are about the same as far as HCs. Hope Bowles is gone tomorrow along with the entire coaching staff. Grizzard shouldn’t ever have been an OC. As far as Licht , the guy has had only a few draft picks on defense that have ever panned out. He also should be canned after what he didn’t do when the Bucs were in trouble mid season.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:57 pm
Alright Glazers – your turn
January 4th, 2026 at 9:57 pm
“3rd and 28” rod….never forget….why didnt Baker tackle that guy :rollseyes
January 4th, 2026 at 9:58 pm
Rodney, much like a broken clock you are right a couple of times a day, after a day of posting a hundred different times. There are zero evidence that the glazers wouldn’t be able to hire whoever they wanted. Money talks. And Baker is considered a top 15 quarterback in a league with 32 of them. You are really off the mark with the baker situation. Any number of young coordinators with possible bright futures would salivate at taking over this job in this division. And yes, with this quarterback. You have no more evidence than I do to State your case.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:59 pm
hmmm, a 2nd for Tomlin? yeah, I’ll do that.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:59 pm
Firing Raheem was a mistake. He needed 1 more year IMO.
January 4th, 2026 at 9:59 pm
Wonderful news! Morris was always nsufferable. That’s your second fail Raheem! Coordinator for life is your prize. Couldn’t happen to a better guy.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:00 pm
Hey Joe why no mention that they also fired the GM Terry Fontenot…
January 4th, 2026 at 10:00 pm
It’s Monday in Tokyo!
Drafting Penix was a mistake. I’m not saying he’s a bust, but that pick was a coach and GM decision. They absolutely could have used that pick to address a need.
I’m undecided as to whether or not Bowles and Licht should go, but neither of them should be hanging their hat on the Super Bowl 5 years ago.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:00 pm
JASON LICHT

HE’S A LOSER. FIRE EVERYONE!!!!!!!

January 4th, 2026 at 10:00 pm
Old Art ain’t playin around… he knows he doesn’t have very much longer and has a talented team. Prob already has his new HC. He immediately saw how bad of a coach Morris was and he wasted no time. The Bucs FO will just drag their feet and Jack around TOO SCARED to BE BOLD.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:01 pm
Raheem didn’t get even one evening to enjoy today’s win.
Brutal.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:04 pm
They will never fire bowles!!!
January 4th, 2026 at 10:04 pm
So if you here an aspiring HC, which personnel would you rather have on your team?
Tampa or Atlanta
January 4th, 2026 at 10:04 pm
I can’t remember Bucs fan so anxious to fire a coach. I’m pretty sure I’ll know the Glazers fired Bowels when I hear fireworks in my neighborhood.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:05 pm
I would not be adverse to the new HC bringing in Raheem as the new DC
January 4th, 2026 at 10:06 pm
If Cousins ends up in FA, the Bucs should be a buyer, anything to get him off our schedule. Most disappointing year as a Bucs fan since I have been watching NFL (since 2015). I watched college football before NFL and still do. Not sure I can do this again with Bowles as the coach. It just is killing my serenity–kinda cannot even stand seeing him now. I remember what a fck up he was back when Brady was quarterback–the Browns game and so many other bad games. Just simply cannot watch anymore games where our secondary is 10 yards cushion. Watching us get diced up over and over, by backup quarterbacks and rookie quarterbacks. No pass rush off either edge for years. No I cannot be invested in that anymore. Really hoping for a change at head coach.

Maybe ownership wanted him in to lose to get a higher pick, he refused and got himself fired..can’t imagine winning g 4 games straight and getting fired. Has to be another reason. Possibly insubordination
January 4th, 2026 at 10:07 pm
I actually agree with this, but I’m not down on Baker like you are.
Honestly, what does firing a coach without firing the GM going to do at this point? Who’s going to come in here and change things. That has never happened here. Even Arians had a losing first season since he was hamstrung with Jay-Miss.
This season’s pathetic ending is not solely a coaching issue. It’s a player issue.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:08 pm
Of course, hes a fake head coach. Several teams and coaches
carried him for years.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:15 pm
@ Bucs East Coast – everyone already knew those stats, but just thing about THE DIVISION Tomlin has done it in… One of THE ‘toughest’ over the past 20-years, year in and year out. With that said, too many “One and DONE’s” in The Playoffs, & etc. Things get STALE. Homestly, I don’t know WHY ‘HE’ wouldn’t want to get outta THERE!? Most great coaches would not be so ‘satisfied’ with what he’s been doing (rinse and repeat), and would want a different challenge. He scares me because he is VERY content and seems to be LAZY AF.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:19 pm
raheem drafting freeman and drafting the atlanta qb did him in never learned from his mistake. bowles is next
January 4th, 2026 at 10:20 pm
Todd doing a presser Monday .or than lickly he is kept wtf wow
January 4th, 2026 at 10:21 pm
Lovie, dirk, Schiano, Raheem it was obvious it was bad and we all knew the axe was coming but this time Glazers see these paper tigers who keep barely winning the division regardless of the mid season collapse, regardless of being no threat in the playoffs mainly because of the defense yet because of the division championships they keep running back with the same lame busted draft strategy. The crazy part is there’s like 6 Glazers and no one can see how mediocre this team is
January 4th, 2026 at 10:22 pm
Paying a ransom for Kirk Cousins and THEN drafting Penix to sit an expensive Cousins was the main reason this season failed and why Raheem and the GM were on Arthur Blank’s hot seat post-draft. You don’t make a mistake like that being a businessman owner and not say, WTF did they just do?
January 4th, 2026 at 10:26 pm
This is awesome this how I know TBow is gone.
Art is head of the curve
January 4th, 2026 at 10:27 pm
Who finished strong with a winning streak and ahead of Belowszo in the division!
How can the Glazers not send the old mule to the glue factory?
January 4th, 2026 at 10:27 pm
They must have made that decision weeks ago. He did his job finishing the season. Seems they could have just waited a couple days. But the NFL is a brutal business.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:28 pm
Art already has coaches in mind👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Atlanta is becoming a dysfunctional organization like Dallas. Not defending the Morris firing but, they don’t seem to know which direction they want to go.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:31 pm
Black Monday he’s gone.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:32 pm
@ Rod Much Says: “they’re just going to get another middling option since no hot young prospect is going to want to.”
I don’t care. Doing absolutely’ nothing’ is NOT an option, at this point. We already KNOW it is NOT “Lickt and Bowles.” So, you DON’T retain them. You move on. If the next one’s not “it” either, then NEXT… Until, you get-it right! But, BAKER will NOT BE “the reason” for WHY a good coach would decline this job. IF that really is the case, then that means that HE is desperately lacking in the ‘confidence’ department. And, I don’t know of very many TOP Coaches who are lacking there. “BAKER” is scaring NO ONE AWAY. It’s ONE-year, which would make him more than likely, just a BRIDGE. It’s really NOT a big deal, at ALL. BAKER would be very farrrrr down the list of ‘things’ preventing a ‘top-tier’ HC. If they get a ‘middling’ option, it’ll be because of a whoooole helluva LOT MORE than being stuck with BAKER for just ONE-YEAR. Hell, they can just ‘MOVE HIM’ then, if they really hate HIM that bad… But, I bet they wouldn’t.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:33 pm
i heard radio was also banned from home depot……permanently
January 4th, 2026 at 10:34 pm
@Rod, not necessarily true. Your assessment rings false in Seattle, Jacksonville, to some degree Chicago, and even Tampa has set an example when BA took on Jameis. I see your logic, but there are too many examples to the contrary
January 4th, 2026 at 10:35 pm
I think Penix is average.
But there defense is right, don’t go by stats.
He’s going after Kubs WATCH
January 4th, 2026 at 10:35 pm
Munchkin writes as if he were campaigning to be the next HC for the Bucs. He proposes a middling mind who can’t stand Mayfield.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:36 pm
Hopefully he is telling everyone he has decided to retire. If he has not been fired by now the Glazer’s are dragging their feet.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:37 pm
But the real problem is Licht. Any legit contender for the HC job will want ballers, not nic3 guys and “culture.” You can go t9 a museum for what Licht is serving. Not to mention Licht’s record hiring coaches. Other than BA, pushing his nose in, who has Licht hires and/or had forced on him
January 4th, 2026 at 10:39 pm
DBS, I actually think that’s a good possibility. One way or another, I assume the owners will be there with him.

‐—————–
Funny you say that, Rich McKay (former Bucs GM and son of the first ever Bucs coach) is president of football operations for the Falcons and has Arthur Blank’s ear. Many think he is responsible for the drought Falcons football is in. He usually gets favorable press, but Arthur Blank is literally one of the worst owners in the league. He meddles far too much. Glazers are football savants compared to him.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:42 pm
It will be a whoooole LOT MORE likely, that any potential ‘top-tier’ level HC, will NOT jeopardize HIS FUTURE, by being stuck ‘in the hands’ of JASON LICKT as his GM… Than having just ONE (potential) YEAR, with Baker Mayfield. Seriously, LICKT is ‘selling’ Noooo ONE. 💯 The have to get the GM FIRST. The rest won’t matter until you do. Everything else will be completely irrelevant.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:45 pm
Munchkin can’t stand Baker. Even when he lies and says he has nothing against him. He got pissed when Jay-miss got launched then when Trask didn’t get the starting position. Even went off the rails when Trask was sent packing.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:46 pm
Id take Raheem the dream over Blows. Thats how bad it’s gotten. Blows cant come back. 6 amd 2 to 8-9 is just sick 😫 🤒 😷 🤧 🤢 🤮

He can come back and coach defense for Lincoln Riley.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:49 pm
i appreciate the orgy of fire bowles bs every week but what is the alternative. hire coen? for all those that want to hire saban, remember the 2 guys his age were belecik and pete carroll and both were train wrecks.
i dont think gruden can get an nfl job right now with the lawsuit.
maybe brian flores at minnesota, but he had a nasty lawsuit for a while, i dont think he is a licht kind of guy.
raheem now has two firings that were controversial….maybe he could be brought in to fix our defense because he had a pass rush this year

I will take whatever coach gets fired after this Ravens vs Steelers game is over before I take Bowles back.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:52 pm
I legitimately hope you guys are right and Baker is a hot prospect that everyone wants to work with. But I think most of you are way too optimistic. If you’re a lifelong Bucs fan you know that you should never be optimistic – well almost never.
But I legit have no idea how anyone looks at Baker, who will be 31 next year, coming off his worst season here, going 2-7 down the stretch, losing 4 games in a row with 1st place on the line, and getting everyone fired – who in the world looks at that and says and thinks people will be breaking down the door to look at him.
However, I hope you all are right and I’m just being overly pessimistic.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:52 pm
Steven007
I can’t see any reason being fully aware of hot the fans are why they wouldn’t nip it in the bud.
Tell everyone he is being retained and that’s it.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:52 pm
Gotta disagree with Rod on the point that Baker is going to keep a hot name candidate away. Coen went to Jacksonville where Lawrence was playing mediocre ball (I believe his play led to a couple HC’s and a GM getting canned?), Canales took the Panthers job even though he knew he’d be saddled with Young, heck Glenn took the Jets job with no starting caliber QB! Baker’s play has helped get two OC’s promoted to HC’s, so a young OC looking for a HC gig with a relatively patient ownership and a decent cast of talent on offense would love to coach in Tampa. Changes need to happen with the Bucs, even if it’s the ST coach getting fired and the defensive coordinator” stepping down from that role and bringing in a new DC.
January 4th, 2026 at 10:54 pm
DBS, Rodney has the strangest crushes. Obviously Jameis, a career backup Post Tampa. Trask for some strange reason. The backup who lingered forever until Atlanta picked him up. He insists the quarterback on a team with no defense has somehow, impossibly single-handedly lost for consecutive games, which is among the silliest hills, he chooses to die on. He seems to think that severe offensive line was mean nothing he hates Sean Tucker, even though he has a higher average than Bucky. Like some of the other weirdos we have posting here, he seems to enjoy having his various takes proven more than victories. Just a lovable oddball, minus the lovable part.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:01 pm
He’s doing a press conference tomorrow. Not that it’s a sure thing but that would seem to indicate they are keeping everything intact, with coaching changes im sure.
If that’s what indeed happens, the bad part won’t be him winning 4-6 games and getting fired at the end of the year. It will be him winning 8-9 games, winning a bad division and the glazers not having the stones to let him go.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:03 pm
Anyone saying Licht is a problem needs to understand a basic reality. Todd could have the Super Bowl Chiefs, any of them the last 7 years, and turn them into 7-10 or worse. Player evaluation under his schemes and lack of detailed coaching, game managements and mistake-eliminating practices makes it very tough to decide that the roster is lacking. It’s pretty clear the problem is the Bloweszo.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:03 pm
So long Toad Bowels! Take your staff with you!
January 4th, 2026 at 11:03 pm
We may find out tomorrow that Baker was much more seriously injured than anyone knew.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:06 pm
@ Steven007 Says: “Baker is considered a top 15 quarterback in a league with 32 of them.”
Ohhhh, Nooooo, No, No, No, NO. There is NooooBODY considering “BAKER” a Top-15 QB in the league anymore. That ship has long SAILED. You’re late to the party. Cause, he’s not even a top 20 QB right now. Lawrence, Love, Purdy, prob even Danny-Dimes, had he not gotten hurt, Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Stroud, even DARNOLD, and Bo freakin NIX now, and MANY MORE are ALL considered MUCH BETTER ‘options’ than Good Ol’ Bake. Hell, even TYLER SHOUGH has looked MUCH BETTER (with limited weapons too, since the Bye, about the time when he got the job). There’s just NO WAY! Bake Bake has been at the VERY BOTTOM of the league type of BAD. NOBODY trusts him… He doesn’t even trust HIMSELF. We had 42-RUNS versus just 22-PASSES yesterday, for a good reason. I think you’ve prob been ‘blinded’ because YOU must really like him.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:06 pm
The Glazer family is way “too cheap” to fire Todd Bowls. They are making money just fine and I expect they will actually cut payroll in 2026-2027 in an attempt to tank to get a top draft choice QB to replace Baker when his contract is up. It’s a rebuild folks.
Expect Lavonte to retire, Evans to move on to Houston or Kansas City, Rasheed and Otton to sign with the Panthers, Greg Gaines, Logan Hall and All Pro reserve CB Jamal Dean to move on and Chris Godwin traded to New England for a draft pick to lighten payroll.
Oddly enough, even more that group leaving, they might have a better record next year at 10-7 or 9- 8 and win this weak division.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:07 pm
Rod Munch is such a moron he doesn’t get that more than 50% of NFL teams would gladly replace their starting QB with Baker Mayfield if they could. Additionally it is so hard to get an NFL Head Coaching job that no one is going to turn it down because Baker Mayfield is the QB. What did Baker Mayfield do to Rod Munch, turn down an autograph?
January 4th, 2026 at 11:07 pm
Because smart people know how to evaluate qb talent. Tampa has to get a coach to match the lafluer hire in Atlanta, which is going to happen. A new coach, with a 3 year deal, to match Baker’s inevitable 3 year extension.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:07 pm
Sucks not going to the playoffs smh
January 4th, 2026 at 11:12 pm
Benjamin Allbright is reporting:
“ I know Arians is lobbying really hard for him to stay.
The narrative on keeping him centers around injuries and instability at OC on the offensive side of the ball being what held them back. “
So, if the glazers are really letting arians get into their heads to keep.. Bowles.. then they need to get rid of Arians also. This buddy buddy thing needs to end.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:12 pm
Melvin, people with actual positions in the NFL and media simply don’t agree with you. Of course those are opinions, just like yours and mine. Dolphins and Jets would take him in a second. I could do the same game with all the other divisions. Obviously some of them have solid starters for all four teams. The browns certainly wish they still had him. Raiders, Cardinals… And that’s just off the top of my head. Anyway it’s all subjective. But if you hate the guy, and you clearly do, nothing, me or anyone else says is going to change that.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:14 pm
@ Bucs4Ever – No. Way. POSSIBLE. Baker was FULLY Healthy! He said it HIMSELF. Even took the extra padding OFF his “NON throwing” shoulder… Until, he didn’t again, AFTER playing a bad game LoL. But, IF YOU SAW an ‘injured’ QB on that field, lowering HIS SHOULDER while finishing RUNS, then I’ve got a whooole lotta sh!t I’d like to SELL YOU. He’s no more “HURT” than what anyone else is who’s still playing at this point of the season. NO WAY. That’s all a buncha HORSE SH!T. Hell, he’s ALWAYS hurt. STOP continuously making EXCUSES FOR HIM. It is what it is AND HE is who he is. Period. End of Story.

FLUSH TOILET BOWLES!!!
January 4th, 2026 at 11:20 pm
What a disgrace. Raheem closes with 4 straight wins including one over Todd, sits Todd’s ample arse in 3rd place in football’s worst division, and gets fired BEFORE TODD.
The Sewer of Shame will be torched by the pitchfork crowd if the Glazers don’t act immediately.
This is a disgrace.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:22 pm
@ Steven007 – NOPE. NOT TRUE. You’re still living usurping the first 6-weeks of the season. NO ONE in the media is taking BAKER in their TOP-15 QB’s anymore. And, when I say “nobody” I am referring to the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY. Yeah, you might find ‘ONE or TWO’ Morons out there right now, MIGHT. Wonder where he’ll be located on the “Mahomes Mountaintop” then, tomorrow!? I betting NOT in the Top-15. Prob NOT Top-20. EVERYONE on that list will be HIGHER, with the one exception of Danny-Dimes, ONLY because he was hurt. Jayden Daniels would be, too! You can re-draft them or whatever you want, BUT BAKER will NOT be in the Top-15 right now! No way. No how. It’s actually, LUDICROUS to say that HE would be.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:22 pm
Well, at least Falcons owner Arthur Blank got a pair. He got guts. He refuses to accept mediocrity. Let’s see what the Glazers got.

Fire the joke of a coach already. He is garbage and the record will be even worse next season.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:24 pm
How bout Morris for DC and Kubiak for HC
January 4th, 2026 at 11:24 pm
@ Steve 007 – DOLPHINS AND JETS LoL. Come on, Man… GTFOH. LMAO
January 4th, 2026 at 11:25 pm
3rd and 28 c’mon already
January 4th, 2026 at 11:26 pm
If TB zero does come back it’s a buckle first belt strap to all the fans faces.
The Glazers will be cheering on mediocrity.
Going 8-9 and missing the playoffs when everyone was talking the SB in preseason and predicting 11 or more wins should be enough for a new coach.
Where are all the Polly positives predicting 12 wins minimum?
That sure didn’t age well. Fire Bowles now!!!
January 4th, 2026 at 11:26 pm
“ The narrative on keeping him centers around injuries and instability at OC on the offensive side of the ball being what held them back.”
If that’s true, and they can’t see that this defense is putrid and the rest of his staff is too, I’m going to be even more pissed than I have been the whole month.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:27 pm
A little research isn’t hard to find out Baker is ranked around 14 or 15.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:30 pm
Even in the playoff years we had a mid-season slump that made us have to scrape and claw just to get in.

Who in the world was talking SB?
January 4th, 2026 at 11:34 pm
Will be hilarious if the Ravens miss this kick after cutting Tugger, who was as clutch as it gets in the past.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:35 pm
HAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
January 4th, 2026 at 11:35 pm
OMG, that’s hilarious.
Also, there’s go the chances of getting Tomlin. But Harbaugh might be available, I’d take him.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:36 pm
Rod — stop — you’re killing me (because my belly hurts from laughing!)
“…..But I legit have no idea how anyone looks at Baker, who will be 31 next year, coming off his worst season here, going 2-7 down the stretch, losing 4 games in a row with 1st place on the line, and getting everyone fired”.
Pure entertainment Brother!
January 4th, 2026 at 11:37 pm
Welp, maybe Harbaugh instead of tomlin…..i’ll take it
January 4th, 2026 at 11:38 pm
Wide Right…..seen that before
January 4th, 2026 at 11:38 pm
Melvin, simply reread the last sentence of My last post. It’s clear I was right. It’s okay to admit you don’t like the guy. You have company.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:39 pm
And Ravens missed kick cost us 1 spot in the draft. Really not our year smh.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:39 pm
Seriously, I don’t get the fascination with friggin BAKER. I can see where I guess, ‘SOME PEOPLE’ like that kinda stuff, BUT REALLY… Come on, now!? He comes off as THE ‘biggest’ DOUCHE EVER during interviews. The ‘head-butting’ his O-Linemen and stuff!? The EVERY SINGLE TIME, he runs the ball and has to dive or make contact, HE jumps up to get in their faces and stuff!? I mean, COME ON… It’s Ridiculous. HE’S OVER 30 YEARS-OLD NOW, amd has been in the league for 8-9 SEASONS. Just get your ass UP and get back to the huddle or the line, and PLAY THE NEXT PLAY. It’s all completely unnecessary, and EMBARRASSING (for him). It’s SO JUVENILE. And, does NOT impress ME whatsoever. It’s like HE somehow STILL ‘feels the NEED’ to do all that to pump his self up!? And, PLEASE… Don’t even get me started on the commercials. He’s a HUGE DOUCHE. It’s embarrassing. Of course, the announcers and sh!t are going to agg him on, too! Everyone used to have “THAT Friend,” who you could get to do STUPID SH!T LoL. It’s just not a good look. It’s time for him to GROW TF UP and concentrate on being an actual ‘real’ LEADER, and HELL… Or, just a GOOD Quarterback, in general.

January 4th, 2026 at 11:40 pm
Thats how you evaluate HC to create a winning team…
2 years doesn’t improve greatly, Bye bye…
Bucs owners should take note of how to grow to cojones and do what it takes to make a TEAM winners!

HaHaHa. The mighty Lamar Jackson finished the season 8-9. The season is on him. He’s the QB. Oh how the FG he just missed he loses by 2 points.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:43 pm
When Lamar dropped back 2 yards to take a knee…I had Vietnam flashbacks to the 2000 season ( I believe ) when the Bucs did that vs Green Bay…tweaking Dramatica into a wide right miss. Cost them home field and ultimately the season.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:45 pm
DBS, could it be said that Jackson single-handedly lost that game?! Haha…
January 4th, 2026 at 11:45 pm
I live in Atlanta, they hate him. They also have standards, we do not.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:45 pm
Geesh Melvin, take a Xanax brutha.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:46 pm
We’ll see what happens tomorrow….hopefully good news and todd is gone.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:47 pm
I’m guessing Melvin is secretly Baker, trolling us😊
January 4th, 2026 at 11:47 pm
Just got a look at our opponents for next year.
It won’t be easy, not that it ever is obviously.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:48 pm
Yes. It’s his job to out score the other team.
See how it works?
January 4th, 2026 at 11:49 pm
If the Falcons get a better HC than the Bucs over all this, the Bucs will be cursed for years from these decisions!
January 4th, 2026 at 11:49 pm
Let ‘ em bake, that would make more sense than these grandstanding weirdos crapping all over the quarterback of their team.
January 4th, 2026 at 11:55 pm
The JAGS just got the most ridiculous toughest road through the Playoffs! They have to be like, “Thanks A LOT” – So, THIS is what we get for ‘WINNING’ Our Division, and getting The #3-Seed… JOSH ALLEN and then a possible rematch for the 3rd-TIME, with our ‘division-rival’ TEXANS and their HOT DEFENSE!? If they’d held on like they should’ve and NOT blown that BIG 4th-Quarter LEAD against the Texans earlier in the season, then they possibly would had the #1-SEED. They had the ‘head-to-head’ voter Denver. Had the best AFC W/L over the Patriots. I would be hoping for the Steelers to beat Houston 💯.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:01 am
We’ve got the HOLLYWOOD wannabe ‘movie star’ QB’s on our Bucs Roster… or, is it just ‘wannabe’ QB’s!? LoL. Old Ted and Good Ol’ Bake are on my tv every time I turn around Lmao. This entire FO and franchise is a freaking TRAIN-WRECK. A Total, DISASTER.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:02 am
Bucs1976
You forgot to name Todd Bowles.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:03 am
Just stating FACTS @ Steven007 and what ‘my eyes’ SEE. It changes NOTHING to LIE about it and NOT face up to the truth.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:06 am
Karma. Fontenot and Raheem lied (yeah, hoodwinking the top QB free agent is lying) to Cousins. They did not want Cousins to go to New Orleans so they paid him and then drafted an 8th pick in the first round QB instead of someone on defense or offense that would immediately contribute to Cousin’s two year sprint to owning the NFC South. Let’s be accurate here, Kirk Cousins after dusting off the rust this year won Atlanta 4-games in a row. They should have never drafted Penix at 8 and should have never pulled $100M guaranteed for first two-year Cousins. That’s $50M last year and this year flushed down the toilet. As Bucs fan, we thank them. For justice sake, good riddance to the overrated duo. Makes me glad we have someone like Licht as our GM who knows how to treat players right.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:09 am
I think everyone is overlooking that Bowles coaching tree could mean Carolina vs Jacksonville in the SB! How would we not all be very proud to see that happen, to know the Bucs are the ones that gave both of those teams their coaches.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:11 am

YOU buddy, are absolutely DELUSIONAL. You’re living inside of a VERY WEIRD adult Bucs-Baker Fantasyland. Then, NAME THEM… NAME THE 16-TEAMS that would FIRE THEIR ‘Quarterback’ and then replace them WITH “BAKER.” I want to know ‘WHO’ these 16+Teams ARE… NAME THEM. I’m Waiting. Start naming them NOW…

Yeah, makes total sense, I’m sure it happened exactly like that. Thank you for sharing.

Slough was the player you moron whose interception cost the Bucs the Plyoffs. Only a moron woul say Slough is better. Baker is definately top 15, Slough will be back-up in 4 years.

@ Aqualung Says: Anyone saying Licht is a problem needs to understand a basic reality. Todd could have the Super Bowl Chiefs,
Because, if you get the GM right, then HE will land THE coach. JL can’t do it. He doesn’t even know WTF he’s doing. 93-104. 12-YEARS is waaaayyy too long. He’s had long enough. Time to move on. NO ‘top-tier’ HC would ever be interested in taking the job under HIM. NO WAY.

YESSSSS 💯. The BEST thing said yet! The “Buddy-Buddy” System has to be OVER. You’ve gotta know WHEN it’s ‘time’ to cut bait and start completely over. Have to totally clean house and remove ALL the ‘deadweight’ OUT from THE PAST. It needs new eyes, new energy, and a new touch. It has to be DONE. Anything else, and you are just completely WASTING your time. And, losing more fans to Jacksonville. It’s just TRUE. Is what it is.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:30 am
AGAIN… Just Completely, Certifiably, DELUSIONAL.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:32 am
I still can’t get over the genius who’d take the New Orleans rookie QB over Baker especially when the guy gave away the game with the “Clutch” interception.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:34 am
Melvin you’re pretty smart for a tard
January 5th, 2026 at 12:37 am
@ Jason Anthony Sturgess – I can go through and absolutely, literally DESTROY that list… Just starting with the NY-Teams, the JETS are LOADED with 1st-Round Picks, and will be DRAFTING THEIRS. And, the GIANTS JUST TRADED their 1st-ROUND PICK this year, BECAUSE they a,ready JUST DRAFTED THEIRS. And, NEITHER of them are SIGNING a 31-year old, constantly hurt and banged-up, ‘middle-of-the-road” and very ‘inconsistent’ at best, aging QB. Trust-ME… They are NOT interested. YOU are living in LaLa-land. He is what HE IS, Man. It’s been 8-9 YEARS NOW… You people are delusional.
January 5th, 2026 at 12:42 am
@ Jason Anthony Sturgess – Ummmmm… NEW ORLEANS. 💯 in a HEARTBEAT. Without a shadow of doubt. ALL-DAY. GUARANTEED. Trust-ME… They are VERY EXCITED with LOTS of promise and hope for THIS GUY (whom they JUST DRAFTED), going into next season. They have ZERO INTEREST in friggin’ “BAKER.” Now, come on… PLEASE.

January 5th, 2026 at 12:47 am

The Titans also are going to give up on their rookie #1 overall pick for Baker?
No, Houston doesn’t want Baker over Stroud. The Vikings aren’t giving up on JJ for Baker.
DENVER who just won the AFC with Bo Nix is begging for Baker?!?!
LOL!

Actually, Cleveland fans would beg to have Baker back. But keep in mind the people of Ohio are mentally impaired from a century of pollution, I mean keep in mind that place is so awful their rivers catch on fire. Everyone in Cleveland celebrates Baker because they think his commercials of living in the stadium is what finally put them on the map. Then again they also thought if they paid hundreds of millions to build a Rock N Roll Hall of Fame there that people would actually go to Cleveland – and not even the people being inducted show up.

Conspiracy take : league told morris to lose so we can have a high income generating do or die match but he failed. It’s all about the moneyz
January 5th, 2026 at 5:40 am
Rod – Correct, the Cleveland fans were not happy about Baker being cut for the questionable guy that got a huge contract and didn’t play long. Huge error of judgement for Cleveland. We can bet, if Baker wasn’t a Buc, there are at least four other teams that would pick him up.
Melvin – Yes, Baker turns 31 this year. And, so haven’t a lot of players turned 31 too and are still playing well. Not disagreeing with you, and in my humble opinion, we should get a solid back-up QB. It’s a basic what-if. In this case, the lead QB getting hurt and no one else to depend on. Kyle and Teddy were not the answers either. We missed out on some solid players during the trade. Crickets.
January 5th, 2026 at 5:50 am
Todd Bowles should be next in line. My family has been season ticket holders since day one of 1976, and if Todd comes back, we will be canceling our tickets, , which amounts to over 100 tickets from family and friends. We have had enough of this poor performance on defense crap !!!!!!!.
January 5th, 2026 at 6:51 am
Todd Munch you are talking smack about my hometown and my favorite player, and who the hell are you to be running your mouth about either of them. You are on Joe BUCS. Com all day, everyday, because you obviously have no life other than getting on comment forums and showing the world how ignorant your are about football, Cleveland, Baker Mayfield, or anything else you run your mouth about. You are laughable. Out of the thousands of comments on Joe BUCS every day, how many agree with you? 😂
January 5th, 2026 at 7:23 am
Rod Munch … ‘This is why people are delusional to think the Bucs are going to get an upgrade at coach this cycle – they’re just going to get another middling option since no hot young prospect is going to want to put their future in the hands of an incredibly inconsistent QB like Baker coming off his worst season in Tampa.’
Head coaches are only as good as their 3 coordinators AND their QB. All 3 of our coordinators were terrible this year, and it impacted production in every phase of the game. When a team gets to that point, it’s time for a change.
Baker didn’t help the situation any, but I blame Bowles & Licht much more for that than I do Baker. He was obviously injured to the point that he shouldn’t have been playing, but our lack of a quality backup apparently led him to suck it up & play anyways. Huge mistake, for him AND the team.
Baker is NOT a franchise QB who can put the team on his back & make up for shortfalls across the board. He NEEDS a strong OLine to protect him, quality weapons (to include a strong running game) plus a quality defense to keep the points ‘reasonable’. Given a team like that (which we almost had in 2024), Baker does well.
January 5th, 2026 at 2:42 pm
Defense…. ‘He was obviously injured’
You’re going with the ‘Baker was hurt’ nonsense as well? LOL! I thought more of you than to repeat that bumper sticker level nonsense. Every time he has a bad game, a bad quarter, throws an INT, it’s ‘oh Baker is hurt’. 3 years of hearing that nonsense.
Baker is what he is, and that is a QB that is going to get a lot of people fire – and sometimes hired as well. He’s the definition of inconsistant, and that is what will limit any coaching search.
You also said… ‘Baker is NOT a franchise QB’
Correct, I agree, he is not a franchise QB.
As for 2024, what happened? The Bucs get to the playoffs, the defense makes a huge 4th quarter goal line stop, Baker has the ball, a chance to go up two scores and put the game away… and he does what he did in the Falcons game when he could have went up 3 scores and put the game away… he turned it over.
Maybe Baker just isn’t very good, and a choke artist in big pressure situations.
To lose 4 games in a row with 1st place on the line, and play like complete trash in all 4, if that gets everyone fired, that’s on Baker. If he was just a Mike Glennon-level passer in those 4 games, the Bucs win all four of them. Baker tanked the season.
That is also why Bowles might get another year. The defense did it’s job down the stretch, Baker did not. So if you believe the ‘Baker was hurt’ nonsense, then why wouldn’t you think we’d see a huge improvement in 2026 if he’s healthy? Why make changes?
