If The Bucs Can’t Run On The Stinking Panthers…
January 1st, 2026Even the Bucs defense is better than this!
Joe likes to poke fun, if not throw an empty beer bottle over the flatscreen, in rage over an annual rotten Bucs pass defense and inept edge rush under head oach Todd Bowles.
In both areas, the Stinking Panthers may be worse!
Per the good people of “Sharp Football Analysis,” Carolina is miserable at touching running backs quickly. Running backs average almost two yards (1.9) before contact when running against the Stinking Panthers.
How does the world-renowned Bowles’ run defense fare? Running backs average 1.4 yards before contact, 20th-best in the NFL.
Two weeks ago in Charlotte, Rachaad White averaged nine yards a carry. Despite this, he only got five carries.
If Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard must start Bucky Irving on Saturday, Joe would give him exactly two possessions to prove he needs to be on the field. If he doesn’t do anything, it’s then make it the Rachaad and Sean (Tucker) Show the rest of the way.
The Bucs need a win. They can’t be farting around hoping a running back shows in the first game of 2026 he can run like it’s 2024 — when he hasn’t done that all of 2025.
Enough!

The Bucs have been running the ball, just been running the wrong guy
They’re a dollar short, and a day late
The Ship has sunk!!

🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
Panthers WANT this game more than the Bucs
The season was foretold in the first 3 games, with one game the Bucs not leading until the final kick with the clock hitting ZERO!
None of the reasons or excuses , wishing and hoping make ANY DIFFERENCE.
The Bucs have played BAD FOOTBALL all year.
Blah blah blah….

I say start Tucker and give him a shot to kickstart the run game. Not just between the tackles either. That 1 play we ran in Buffalo where we pulled Wirfs right and ran Tucker off his hip, down the sideline, past the Bills D and into the end zone. Don’t think we’ve seen that run since.
It’s the last game of the year, and we don’t have s%^t to lose other than our respectability at this point. Trying something, anything different than the way we’ve gone about our personnel usage at RB.

Sorry Joe, I disagree, I would start White. He has earned it and is productive. I would sub Irving in and say earn more touches. They did the opposite with White and this year he has proved he has the hot hand, but is woefully underutilized in both the run and pass game. Presently it shoud be White, Tucker then Irving. If you are going to go with the hot hand then do it. Right now Irving needs to prove he deserves more touches.

In my opinion, when a player gets hurt like Bucky has been. They have a tendency to be extremely cautious for at least a 6 months this is something I have noticed. I have not stats to back this up. Godwin is not the player he was before this last injury yes he is older of course. Next year he will be back to the Chris Godwin we have come to know. Weather he is here or not. I hope he stays for sure. K. Chancy is the same he is afraid to get hurt again and who wouldn’t be. McMillan looks nervous going across the middle as he should be, he landed were he could be paralyzed. Baker is not Baker because we all know he got hurt. Its not going to suprise me if he has off season surgery of some kind he is always waiting to make the throw only runs when absolutely has no choice. This team needs to heal like a lot of other team. The nucleus is still there for 1 more year in my opinion. Happy New Year everyone.

Yeah this team makes sense. They beat Houston they beat SF they beat Seattle but lose to others they should beat. Yeah they’ve probably given up on him & there must of been something that happened on their week off.

Actually WE DO NEED TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. WE BEAT SEATTLE WE BEAT SF & NOW WE’LL BEAT LA THIS TIME.🤮🤮🤮🤮 Maybe in Madden but I doubt that, too!

The problem is going to be the Panters running on Bowzo D.

The Panthers want this game more than the Bucs, period.

Question Joe – If the Panthers are “Stinkin” and they are ahead of the Bucs, then what word describes the Bucs?

Poor tackling starts in College football. It’s atrocious. In training camp that needs to be a top priority.

This is likely RW1’s last game as a Buc

Beeej Says: “This is likely RW1’s last game as a Buc.” Hope not. He and Tucker have a lot to offer.

Not sure what is wrong with Bucky, he could still be injured trying to gut it out or he has become a head case and can’t get out of his own mind. Either way he better play well or be prepared to be replaced. They should have gone with White and Tucker last week. Heck, Tucker can be a load and can wear a defense down. Let them man tote the rock.

I remember during Tampa 2 era,
We loved to watch the defense!
We were excited to watch our defense fly around and GANG tackle.
I really hate our defense.
They are so soft.
We need a major upgrade in our front 7.
We need some psychos and thugs on the D line.
Sapp was the QB Killa. We’ve got a bunch puntangs on our defensive line

Agreed!!!
