Everyone blaming Bowles is kinda wrong, and I don’t like Bowles. These players have been in a good position to make plays, but they just can’t. Well, I’ll admit I was wrong.
I said the Bucs should put the ball in Baker’s hands to win today, don’t just run the ball and think you’re going to win, you need to get Baker hot if he’s ever going to heat up.
That was a huge mistake. The Bucs have 21 throws vs 8 runs, and Baker still looks like a complete turd, managed 7 points in the first half with another inexcusable INT. He’s been terrible once again, is fully transforming into a pumpkin again.
One more half for Baker to either heat up or get everyone fired and lose his grip on the starting job.

If the Bucs don’t come back and win this game, and if they look this lifeless, I think this will be the game that gets everyone fired.
I’ve thought Baker’s deal is really the big thing that keeps Bowles in contention, with a fully guaranteed deal Baker can’t be cut, and it’s really unlikely anyone would trade for him, so he’s basically back next year, and what coach wants a QB that played so bad for months on in that he got his coach fired, and is eating up a huge amount of the cap? I figured that you claim injuries tanked the year, and try it again one more time, considering the team will be fully blown out after next year in any case if Bowles tanked again, then you do a full reboot.
But this is such a gutless effort so far, yeah, they might make the change afterall. I just don’t know how you handle the Baker part, no new coach is going to want to build around him after these last 2+ months, no one wants to stake their job on him, so who are you getting?

Yeah, when he was MVP he was doing it all by himself. But when he tried to let others share in his greatness, that’s where things went wrong. If Baker would just be more selfish and stop being such a great guy, we’d see his true MVP form, but his one failing as a human is that he’s too much of a wonderful person to hog the spotlight all to himself. This is painfully obvious: the O line isn’t holding up long enough but the play calling is absolutely atrocious. 1st and goal and you kick a fg without even one attempt at the endzone? This is crazy. WR screens and runs for negative yards. Just a bunch of bland unimaginative calls. Bad O-line=Baker’s fault, bad defense=Baker’s fault, predictable offensive scheme=Baker’s fault, McMillan completely giving up on the ball=Baker’s fault, 3 different O coordinators=Baker’s fault, run game that averages negative yardage=Baker’s fault. Lets review the losses shall we…
Vs the Pats, the defense gives Baker the ball back three times in the 4th quarter with a chance to take the lead, he gets zero points in that time frame, only gets a TD in garbage time.
Vs the Bills, throws a terrible 3rd quarter INT that completely changed the momentum of the game.
Vs the Rams, somehow Baker injures his non-throwing shoulder on a non-contact play and leaves the game after playing the worst game of his career.
Vs the Cards, puts up less than 200 yards passing, only gets 20 points, but the defense makes key stops and Baker plays just well enough to win.
Vs the Saints, Baker puts up 122 yards passing with an INT, has the ball in his hands with a chance to win the game, throws a bad pass on 4th and 4 that goes 3 yards.
Vs the Falcons, Baker is terrible all game, missing guys all night, throws a terrible 4th quarter INT, and misses a wide open e2 on the last drive that otherwise puts the game away.
Vs the Panthers, Baker throws for 145 yards, throws a pick on the final drive.
Vs the Dolphins, at least 3 TO’s in another total collapse.
But Baker isn’t to blame to be sure, it’s everyone else that is the issue, but not Baker.
