Man, Todd Bowles may be the most hated man in the Tampa Bay area since Vince Naimoli.

Turn on WDAE-AM 620 for one of the local drivetime shows, and it is hours of non-stop “Fire Bowles… Fire Bowles… Fire Bowles… “ One caller after the other. Non-stop. Call after call after call.
Joe can’t remember this degree of disdain on-air.
So surely with Bucs fans flooding social media — as Al Michaels would say — at full throat, screaming for Bowles’ head and sports radio callers all but overloading WDAE-AM’s servers with calls, texts and emails begging for Bowles to walk the plank at One Buc Palace, how does Bowles handle all of this braying?
Easy, Bowles said. He tunes out the outside world when he’s outside of One Buc Palace.
“I listen to nothing but music when I leave here,” Bowles said. “I made a pact when I started coaching to never listen to anything else.
“So outside noise to me is just outside noise. It’s the people in this building, what we talk about, what we do in this building.
“We’ve been through this before. We understand where we are. We just have to execute and play our game.”
Go ahead and surf video on TikTok of Bowles getting booed off the field after the Bucs lost the Dixie Chicks at home two weeks ago. Joe hasn’t heard anything like that since former Bucs commander Greg Schiano was on the Bucs’ sidelines.
Not sure how Bowles didn’t hear that.
It’s starting to get ugly. And heaven forbid if the Bucs lose to the Stinking Panthers a week from Sunday at home. That stadium may melt down.

Joe wrote that RJS will meltdown if the Bucs lose to the Panthers in 2 Sundays. Well, if the Bucs lose to Miami, which many believe Tampa will and if Carolina manages to upset a Seattle team travelling from the West Coast on Sunday, RJS might be empty as Carolina’s third string probably beats lame duck Bowles and his crew of underachievers in 2 Sundays. These last 3 losses have been putrid, Bowles is making excuses up to cover for his own ineptitude. This Miami game is not a give me. In fact, Bucs are favored by 5.5 points, I smell a trap. Wise person puts coin on Miami with the points, money line and also a bit on their qb going over on the passes and their RB Archane going over on his props like Joe did with the ATL 2 games back…..

Good for Todd. He knows how to separate work for wellness time and disconnect from the bad vibes.
However, I have never known any coaches that stop thinking about the sport they are involved with, even in off times. They would listen to everything out there; good and bad.
