Two Bucs Named To The Pro Bowl

December 23rd, 2025

Per the votes of players, coaches and fans, there is greatness on the Buccaneers roster.

The 2026 Pro Bowl teams for the AFC and NFC were announced today and left tackle Tristan Wirfs and safety Antoine Winfield, Jr. made the cut.

For Wirfs, it’s his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl. Despite missing four games this season, Wirfs got the honor. That speaks to his superior reputation.

It’s Winfield’s second Pro Bowl. He didn’t make it two seasons ago when he was the best safety in football. However, Winfield did score the more coveted All-Pro honor in that season.

Of course, neither will attend the Pro Bowl if the Bucs shock the world and reach the Super Bowl. This year, the Pro Bowl festivities are in San Francisco during Super Bowl week.

  1. DBS Says:

This shows what a joke this is. Nobody from this team should be in a Pro Bowl.

  2. ChiBuc Says:

A true testimony that the probowl is a joke and a popularity contest. Winfield does NOT deserve t9 be voted onto this HS prom king court. For that matter, Wirfs has been subpar all yr too. The NFL is working hard to be as believable as the WWF. Between the gambling and NBA star recognition priority, this is less team sport and more entertainment “sport”

  3. ChiBuc Says:

Truly, how could AWJ be recognized over Tykee? JOKE

  4. PoopyPants Says:

5 JAGS NAMES TO PRO BOWL, DUUUUVALLLL, DUUUVALLL LETS GO JAGS

  5. Ben Says:

Winfield aside from 1 game has been invisible. He does not deserve this
Wirfs should be a pro bowler every year. Glad he made it.

  6. DS Says:

    Tykee > Winfield

  7. KC Buc Says:

Winfield is a headscratcher for me this year, really felt his play has been uninspired but maybe teams are avoiding him. Feel bad for Dean, I thought he’s really had a quite stellar year and should be in. Chase also has had a pretty strong year, but of course Aubrey with Dallas is always going to be a tough ask to dethrone. Tykee had a strong year but probably suffers from name recognition. Otherwise yeah, no one else has been healthy enough or deserving.

  8. LouisFriend Says:

Winfield Jr doesn’t belong on a Pro Bowl roster but then again he’s one of many who don’t. There’s a better than even chance 2026 will be his last year on the team if his performance keeps underwhelming. There’s too much of a cap hit to let him go otherwise I’m not sure they’d keep him beyond this season. No one should pay $20M+ for an impact safety who has no impact.

  9. PoopyPants Says:

COME ON BUCS FANS, TIME TO GET BEHIND YOUR AFC South Winner Jacksonville JAGS AND THE COACH OF THE YEAR LIAM COHEN, SAY IT WITH HER, DDDDUUUUUVVVVALLLLLLL, DUUUUUVVVVVALLLLLLL, DUUUVALLLLL, ROOT FOR A WINNER IN THE FREE STATE OF FLORIDA, THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

  10. ElioT Says:

Wow – not expecting that from 31 this year – he’s been darn near invisible.

I’m sure he’s content now playoffs or not.

  11. BootyLover Says:

I’ve never heard anyone refer to the Pro Bowl as a joke.

  12. Lakeland Says:

You mean that draft Guru of 12 years Jason Licht

Has only two players going to the Pro Bowl

  13. jcscycles Says:

Too funny – everyone slams the guy but he makes the Pro Bowl.

  14. PoopyPants Says:

bucs are the worst team in the NFL

  15. ukester Says:

Yeah and Devin White should be a pro bowl as well

  16. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

The only player on the team that deserves the Pro Bowl nod this year is Vita Vea imo.

  17. ModHairKen Says:

It’s time to end their charade. Anyone who actually watches any of the events associated with the Pro Bowl should be on a No Fly list.

  18. Jmarkbuc Says:

Bud Licht spent a lot of time filling out ballots.

  19. Adrnagy Says:

Is this some type of sick joke

    What about vea

  20. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Funny thing is, Buc fans are downing their own when Winfields’ numbers are almost identical to what he did the last time he went to the pro bowl in 2021.

    AWjr in 2021:

    88 tackles, 4 TFLs, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 6 PBUs, and 2 INTs in 13 games

    AWjr in 2025:

83 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 7 PBUs, and 2 INTs in 15 games w/2 left to play.

Some of you are just insufferable and cope with losing in a way it makes everybody the bad guy, except Baker Mayfield.

  21. BucFanDMV Says:

Vita is deserving Winfield no way! Wirfs I am OK with that but Winfield no way!

  22. Mhystc Says:

Tykee not being voted in, is a joke.

  23. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Baker & Dean named as alternates.

  24. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I agree with most, Tykee is the best player on our defense, but AWJ stats are better than his play of late. Can’t really say how they compare to other safeties in the league. Wirfs is an absolute beast, this year has been an off year for him, given his time missed and his play, but that’s because his standard is so high, an off year for him is still elite. Enjoy that dude while he is here, we won’t have the best tackle in football forever.

  25. Colonel Angus Says:

Name recognition. Even Wirfs has had a down season by his All Pro standards. McLaughlin should have made it, he’s our MVP.

  26. 813bucboi Says:

    WBL

i havent looked but im pretty sure winfield had double the amount of missed tackles this year than he did the last time he made it…

imo, tykee & mclaughlin shouldve been the only PBers on the team…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  27. Ufc Says:

Watch him play he ain’t sht

  28. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Exactly WBL… Don’t understand all the Winfield haters all of a sudden. Just bc he’s a safety it can look like he’s responsible for negative big plays. He’s made some great plays this season and was robbed of TWO TDs earlier this year. Dude has stayed healthy and is just doing his best in this Bowles scheme.
Honestly it’s Wirfs that’s had a more down year. He’s been hurt. He’s had a couple games where he’s looked almost average. He’s still a top 3 LT in this league, though hence the voting.

  29. Mike Says:

Wait a minute what about your boy baker
Most of yall on this site declared many times he is an elite gb one of the top 5 in the league but now you don’t think he should be in the pro bowl.

  30. Muscle Hampster Says:

    There’s pros on this team?

  31. Bucfan1988 Says:

    All about name recognition..

    Total joke!!!

And Tykee had a MUCH better year than AWJ….

  32. Jeff Says:

Winfield! lol! When the new D coordinator comes next year we’ll see AWJ actually EARN a pro bowl roster spot.

  33. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

No one in the NFL “deserves” the Pro Bowl. That’s not how it works anymore.

    It means nothing.

In the old days it did, but no longer.

McLaughlin should be All Pro though.

  34. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“i havent looked but im pretty sure winfield had double the amount of missed tackles this year than he did the last time he made it…”

    12 mtkls in 2021
    mtkls 12%

    4 mtkls in 2025
    mtkls 4%

    2021:

    33-45(73.3%) for 358 yards and 2 TDs

    2025:

    30-53(56.6%) for 526 yards and 3 TDs

    And @BigPoppaBuc

Correct, and there’s only 3 other safties who’ve scored defensive TDs with 1 a piece respectively. Can’t forget to mention those bad calls would’ve made it so our defense in that first Saints game would’ve outscored BOTH offenses in that game lol

  35. Bucfan1988 Says:

Not sure who this POOPYPANTS commenter is, but homie you better check the AFC starter list again….

Jaguars only had ONE pro-bower need to the team, not 5 ….

You might have some alternates but you got ONE guy that was voted on the original team…

  36. Bucsny Says:

Who cares honestly, it dont help the team any

  37. Bucsny Says:

Baker has straight up become a dud. Hes literally average at best come on

  38. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

  39. Ryan Says:

Saying Wirfs has been sub par all year just shows that some fans don’t know what they’re watching.

  40. Tony Says:

Todd Bowles for coach of the year?
Jason Licht for GM of the year?

I think they should be up for consideration then, too!

  41. Bucfan1988 Says:

Buccaneers.com does confirm that Dean & Mayfield are Pro Bowl alternates….
    Congrats guys!!

Mayfield might be struggling lately but I still feel like the coaching & schemes on both sides of the ball are so inept, it’s pulling EVERYBODY down this year…

You know they have talent with decent coaching and you saw the offense flourish with Coen last year.

All we need is to fix the coaching..

  42. SB~LV Says:

    🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

  43. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

    Winfield?

    More like Beuller? Beuller???

I wouldn’t even know Winfield was on the field this year if I didn’t see him getting beat on pass play replays multiple times per game.

  44. Ke Says:

I wish Tykee could have got in Pro Bowl. Winfield doesn’t belong but the NFL owes him one the year he won All Pro but no pro bowl.

  45. KnuteR Says:

Pro bowls for what? It does not help the team winning any games lately. Baker does not bake anymore. There is something serious wrong with him. He is just a below average qb now. The Bucs might not even make it to the playoffs. Bowls ‘s ship is sinking every day. Bowles’s records with the Jets speaks for itself. It is time for rebuild with new head coach and new qb for the future.

  46. heyjude Says:

    Happy for them!

Bucfan1988 – Thank for the info about Dean and Mayfield.

Maybe this is a good look charm too. We could end up being in the playoffs and possibly SB, and then they would need alternatives in their place. Just saying, you never know.

  47. addb Says:

    Chase Money got robbed

  48. Upstate NY Buc Fan Says:

    Who cares

  49. Fanofdabucs Says:

The reality show that the NFL has become is quickly becoming unwatchable. From these “pro bowl” selections to the piss poor refs, the product just isnt all that fun to watch..it’s now proped up by fantasy football and gambling. Take those away and viewership would be Arena league like.

  50. SoCalBucsFan79 Says:

You all know that the pro bowl isn’t just %100 fan voting right? Per Google’s AI: “Pro Bowl players are selected through a consensus of votes from three groups: fans, current NFL players, and coaches, with each group’s vote counting as one-third (33.3%) towards the final roster.” So it isn’t purely a beauty contest judged by fans. That means coaches and player peers just didn’t get Tykee Smith nor Jamel Dean on their radar enough, and for better or worse it’s hard to breakout with so many more established names out there. I’m pretty sure there were years when Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, John Lynch and Ronde Barber got Pro Bowl nods due to their established reputations and not their individual play for a given season or there are things that coaches and players notice that regular fans aren’t aware of, like scheming plays away from highlighted players.

Looking at the NFC safeties selected, did Tykee Smith outplay or outshine Budda Baker (7x PB) or Kevin Byard (2x PB, 6 INTs)? Did Tykee Smith have any splashy plays that got his name out there for a national audience to even register? I believe his 1 INT total didn’t help, and Winfield’s 2 was enough to pull him ahead, and his previous PB nod gives him something in his CV that fans, players and coaches take notice, as INTs and name recognition mean something. I’d say his play has been steady, but workman-like production isn’t enough. Same with Dean, did he outshine DeJean, Horn (1x PB), Mitchell or Witherspoon (2x PB) on the national stage? 3 INTs including 1 pick 6, but again its probably playing on a defense that has underperformed that hasn’t helped. We can drop in a lot of advance defensive stats but most fans, players and coaches aren’t looking at spreadsheets to determine who to pick. Dean, I think has already been named or will be an alternate, but the 4 in front all are relatively healthy, so unless one of them passes Dean won’t be in the pro bowl.

  51. Deeboooo Says:

    I’m
Confused how Tykee didn’t get a nod to the pro bowl. Hes been a top 5 safety in the league. Crazy

  52. Buckit Says:

Winfield’s 2 tackles last Sunday prob put him over the top. . .

  53. Bucfan1988 Says:

Heyjude, gotta say luv the optimism but man, I’m just drained from watching these guys this year.

The suck has just festered in this team, primarily from the coaching schemes….

I’d be utterly shocked if they can even make the playoffs 🤷🏻‍♂️….

Haven’t been this down on the team since Lovie Smith was coaching…

  54. Inwoodjeremy Says:

Well since it’s flag football and no tackling they wanted someone good at it. The defense and special teams is full of flag bowl players. J/k but not.
    Way to go Wirfs!
    Way to go Winfield!
    Go Bucs!

  55. Sal Volatile Says:

AWJr being a probowler is a good thing. It will make his trade value higher.

  56. Chuckys Bucs Says:

    Heard it here first.

Tampa will attempt to hire Todd Monkon as head coach and trade Baker Mayfield plus picks for Lamar Jackson.

  57. Whatevs Says:

What about the rest of this Super Bowl roster assembled by the Loser Licht?

All I heard Jason and media talk about is how all of these picks over the last 4 years are future pro bowlers?

Ring of Losers – The Draft Guru Jason Licht. Can’t wait to get my 2026 Draft Champions Hat

  58. HC Grover Says:

Unfortunately due to this awful season, NFL wokeness, Buc organization irritation, coach wooden indian,, and Television availability disgustion…..I don’t care. So this means less to me than ever. Hope we do not end up in the dumpster. JBF is more interesting than the whole dang thing. They nicklel and dime every cent they can get to pour in to the pot. Ummmm Go Bucs……? Somebody buy a Jersey

  59. HC Grover Says:

So now honest fan opinions get moderated…Oh Darn maybe they want to run off all but the true money bettors Who knows.

  60. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    SoCal

get that logic and deduction out of here, and grab a torch and pitchfork like everybody else. We don’t want objective thought, just confirmation of our shared biases.

  61. Bucsalltheway Says:

Should have been tykee Smith and Jamel dean but I beg to differ…Winfield is trash and wirfs is still hurt been at 75% all season long this is funny

  62. HC Grover Says:

🙂 Fans on the run. Fans on the run. If I ever get out of here, all I need is a pint a day,
And the Bucs exploded with a mighty crash as we fell in to the Sun, The first fan said to the second one there “I hope you’re having FUN. Fan on the run

  63. Bucfan1988 Says:

Yeah definitely like the Todd Monken idea for our new HC.
    Not Lamar Jackson though…..

Keep Mayfield under a REAL downfield scheme with TE involvement as well…

Think we should trade AWJ for pics and unload some of that salary…
He may have ok stats but just don’t see the value..

    Just my opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree to keep mayfield. That would be my preference but the owners may want to make a splash.

  65. Bucman Says:

Will Bowles be coaching at the pro-bowl???????

  66. heyjude Says:

Bucfan1988 – I get it too. I was really down when Schiano, Raheem, and Kirk were in there. Lovie too, especially in the end, and then we got 1st draft pick. At that time, I remember many being so happy to get Jameis. Heck, we all were jumping up and down in the LR so excited. What a long road it has been.

  68. SB~LV Says:

How many PB’s has Vita Via made?

  69. Davenport Says:

In no way does Winfield deserve to be on a Pro Bowl roster. Ridiculous

  70. SoCalBucsFan79 Says:

FYI Tykee Smith wasn’t in the top 10 overall vote getters for Strong Safety as selected by the fans: #1 Jaquan Brisker (Bears), #2 Talanoa Hufanga (Broncos), Cam Curl (Rams), Derwin James (Chargers), Kyle Hamilton (Ravens). Ultimately, Budda Baker was selected on his merits by coaches and players voting (knocking off both fan favorites Brisker and Curl) as the same was true for Winfield, as he also wasn’t in the top 10 for Free Safety fan votes (NFC top 3: Kevin Byard (Bears), Coby Bryant (Seahawks), Kerby Joseph (Lions), but nonetheless he was selected by his peers and coaches despite the lower than warranted opinion by fans alone. In fact you can say Chicago had a concerted effort to elevate all their players by fan voting as 10 of the 16 categories had a Bear as the top vote getter and yet, only a handful of those players were also selected by their peers and coaches around the league. Same was true for Jamal Dean, not in the top 10 in fan votes, but 3 Bears were including nickel Nick McCloud (#8 overall) who’s 140.7 passer rating against is far worse than any starter in the Bucs back 7. Nashon Wright another Bear was the top vote getter from the fans, but coaches and players made the difference in his exclusion from the final Pro Bowl roster, given the fact he has yielded 6 TDs despite having 5 INTs. You can say what you like for the cluelessness of the fans, but the coaches and players opinions more than make up the difference when popularity tries to stack the deck.

  74. heyjude Says:

SoCalBucsFan79 – ya, we all know about the Pro Bowl and agree. However, the players do get bonuses, monies, and prizes. It benefits them financially.

  75. rocket Says:

What about our Kicker? If McGlaughlin isn’t all pro, he is at the very least, pro bowl. Better than anyone else on the team at their particular positions, that’s for sure

  76. Bakerfan Says:

    Neither one deserves it

  77. Adrnagy Says:

  79. Juan Hung Lo Says:

    How about that
The Rod Muncher has been wrong all along

The league thinks Baker is pro bowl caliber

Good think no one values the muncher’s opinion

  80. Ugo Says:

Winfield has been out of position on several key plays this year by I truly suspect that’s dude to him attempting to cover for other players on the secondary (cough cough Zyon). There are just so many missed assignments, the blame has to be laid on Bowles and his overly complicated, yet easily figured out by opposing teams, defensive scheme

  81. Steven007 Says:

Turd pants, why even post here? Stupid name. Stupid comments. You add nothing but Middle School BS. Why aren’t you on their message boards leaving your all caps crabola? As far as trolls go, and you are obviously one, you do a poor job. At least Munch has a few brain cells to rub together and some sarcasm with his trolling.

  82. Bucfan1988 Says:

See that tells you all you need to know…

The league thinks Mayfield is a Pro-Bowler, however when you playing under suck crappy coaching & a crappy scheme, it pulls everyone down….

Woulda been great to see how Mayfield and all these weapons would have resulted under year 2 of Coen’s scheme…

  83. Bucfan1988 Says:

    Ugo, totally agree….

Bowles defensive scheme is TOO COMPLICATED for the defensive players to learn & TOO EASY for opposing offensive coordinators…

    Simple as that 🙂

  84. Lakeland Says:

It’s time for the Glazers to step up
They need to bring out the mop and broom
And get to house cleaning, take out the trash
We need new players, new coaches, a new administration

Jason Licht should be the first to go
    Followed by Bowles and Mayfield
