BSPN: Bucs Clinch NFC South Next Week In Miami

December 19th, 2025

New hat and T-shirt coming.

So let it be written, so let it be done. The Bucs will win the NFC South for the fifth-straight season and make a playoff appearance for a sixth-straight year.

Who says such a thing? Well, that would be a man who never met a number he didn’t like, Seth Walder of BSPN.

Walder, who makes a living playing with a calculator, crunched the numbers and is of the firm belief the Bucs will win their next two games, thus, clinching the NFC South.

If the Bucs win two of their next three, they’re in the playoffs, bay-BEE! And the way Walder looks at it, the Bucs will beat Carolina Sunday 20-17.

Then a week from Sunday in Miami, the Bucs will beat the tanking Dolphins 31-26.

Hat and T-shirt game!

The Panthers and the Bucs entered Week 16 tied with 7-7 records and set to face each other twice in the final three games. The Buccaneers seemed on the verge of an epic collapse, having lost five of their previous six contests entering the first matchup with Carolina. But Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield pulled out a three-point victory. After a win over Miami, the Bucs again beat Carolina by a field goal in the finale. The result? They earned the conference’s No. 4 seed.

Walder actually believes the Bucs can make noise in the playoffs, so long as they don’t face Sean McVay and the Rams.

Did anyone watch the Los Angeles-Seattle classic last night? Uh, oh.

Even though the Rams’ collapse was of epic proportions ours against the Falcons was worse because we were beaten by basically 3 people

  2. ModHairKen Says:

Uh huh. And what did it predict for the last two games, NO and Atlanta?

This is like the late 90s under Dungy, except the D was reliable and the O was embarrassing. Every year was plotting through the schedule, and then they’d make the playoffs and lose in round 1 or 2.

Why would that be any more acceptable 20 years later?

Well, we will see whether the players have pride or respect for Bowles in the next 3, 4 or 5 games. Anything less than 5 should inspire a coaching change and roster purge.

  3. Obvious One Says:

Well,… that’s great news. I’ll take it. I for one prefer to win ALL WEEK LONG and TWICE on SUNDAYS..

But I’ve got to say, I’m truly am getting tired of seeing that face that is at the top of the page. I don’t know exactly how to explain it except that to say in all seriousness, that face just doesn’t inspire me anymore.

And I’m not just taking some cheap shot. If he’s back next year I really feel like I’d be filled with a kind of sadness instead of gladness. Just Knowing “what’s coming and what’s Not” and how much I’m not looking forward to it Again….. This old dog is just dragging its @$$ along for what seems like forever and it’s So Very long in the tooth.

At least for now I can’t shake the unhappiness and the uninspiredness of that possibility. Zebras DON’T CHANGE stripes. Especially old ones! Lord help me.

  4. JA Says:

Even a “moron” like me figured that out last week. In fact, some macho driven guy who refers to himself pridefully as PoopyPants, or something like that, referred to me as a moron for stating this Sunday wasn’t a must win if the Bucs won the last two.
Poopy duly informed, “Every week is a must win, you moron!”
Oh, never thought of it like that, but us morons ain’t too bright.
Anyway, I had A.I., one of the most useful tools ever invented, break down the playoff scenarios for me—took five seconds, if that.
Amazing how many technophobes there are out there. Been watching too many Terminator reruns, I guess.
Fearing A.I. will soon “get smart,” like the Reese character claimed in T1, they prognosticate A.I. will soon reach The Singularity and we’ll all be doomed.
Not me, if some box or phone started ordering me around I’d just turn it off or unplug the damn thing. Gotta show these things who’s boss!

  5. heyjude Says:

Positive news! Cannot wait for the game on Sunday.

Going to do some holiday baking while watching Baker and the rest of team hopefully scorching the Panthers!! Go Bucs!

  6. Hodad Says:

So let it be written, so let it be done. Who says such a thing? Yule Brenner in the movie Moses that’s who. I want Bowles gone, checked out on this season. We’d only get embarrassed playing the Rams in the wild card round. Winning the NFC south would be like kissing your sister, it shouldn’t feel good. Anything less than a playoff win shouldn’t save Bowles job. Fire Licht too.

  7. Kenton Smith Says:

heyjude, That’s what I’m talking about!

  8. ModHairKen Says:

Speaking of Rams, Hodad, Pukey Nacua lit it up against Seattle and then whined about officiating when the call was correct.

He is a punkass. He was in the locker room live-streaming, which is against team rules, and when he was called out on it by another player, he said “well nobody can see anyone else,” the self-absorbed cooter.

Nacua thinks the rules don’t apply to him, but he has no problem,
whining and complaining like a little girl when his team doesn’t get a call the way he wants.

He is in for an attitude adjustment , but it probably won’t come from the Bucs because they’ll put somebody in soft zone and he’ll probably have 400 yards against them.

  9. Scotty Mack Says:

If the 49ers win out, they would be in the #5 spot, not the Rams.

    Go 9’ers!

  10. Scotty Mack Says:

The whole season really comes down to this week. If the Bucs win, they’ll likely win the NFC South. If they lose, it’s extremely unlikely.

Yes, the Bucs could lose to the Dolphins and the Panthers could beat Seattle next week, but that is not a likely scenario at all.

Despite what every single pundit I listened to this week says about week #18 being the decider of the NFC South, it’s far more likely to be over in week #17, one way or the other.

  11. NCbucfan Says:

Any chance Kancey would be ready for the wildcard rd Joe?

  12. Gofortheface30 Says:

I cannot possibly think of a better defense for Quinn Ewers to go against in his second start than the Bucs. What in the gd F – it boggles the mind how everyone seems to forget or purposefully omit the fact that our defense, for YEARS mind you, makes anonymous quarterbacks look like 2019 Patrick Mahomes. Who in the hell are WE to assume anything? Unless of course you want to assume Matt Stafford becomes the first quarterback to throw for one thousand yards in a game and Puka Livestreams while running for his 4th touchdown of the game

  13. Pewter Power Says:

There would have been no collapse if Davante Adams was on that field. To late now though. All I know is Bucs don’t have a defense that can beat 5 win teams let alone playoff teams which is all I care about. Tua was benched which makes Miami more dangerous to a Bowles defense. I have no trust in Bowles but knowing the with this roster we should be 9-5

  14. Todd Says:

Bucs beat Panthers this weekend and Panthers lose to Seattle next weekend and we are in only winning one of three and getting to rest everybody in the final week.

  15. SB~LV Says:

    Bucs Choke the NFC South

  16. Razorramone Says:

Crud, I fell asleep last night and missed the comeback. The one time I wanted the Rams to win.

  17. Curse of Gruden Says:

Had Number Cruncher Seth actually watched just one of the Bucs’ last few games, he would change his mind.

  18. purplebeard Says:

I watched the Seattle game. Sam threw 2 int. Kupp fumbled and they still won. Defense, ba-by

  19. Beeej Says:

Pukey also complained that, at $1 million per year, he can’t buy a house in LA. Has to rent an apartment, as near half his salary goes to taxes

  20. Atrain Says:

    Yea WON THE NFC SOUTH

    WOW 5 times

    REALLY

GOT to. Celebrate something because we can’t win anything else

Bowles has won A. PLAYOFF GAME

ANY OTHER COACH WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED ALREADY

ASK GURDEN (who won a Superbowl)

Wonder Why Bowles Gets a PASS??????????

  21. Joe Says:

Any chance Kancey would be ready for the wildcard rd Joe?

Am told “playoffs” is a target. Didn’t mention when in playoffs.

  22. Allen Lofton Says:

McVay is probably right there as best HC in the NFL. His teams not only beat the Bucs consistently but most of the league as well. Plus he has the full confidence of the players. which is an issue with the Bucs defense.

As the old saying goes Get into the playoffs and anything can happen. The playoffs are the defining moment.

  23. NCbucfan Says:

    Thanks Joe!

  24. Christos Says:

There is a high probability we will spoil the next couple of years of the Dolphins.
After the Dolphins Bucs game Miami will fell in the trap and think Ewers can be a franchise QB and start him next season. Dont be fooled Dolphins.

The Bucs may win the Division or they may not. But we have seen the same things for the last 4 years. No progress, no developement just the same and the same all over again. Do with that what you will but this team and this coaching staff have not shown something different.

    Go Bucs

  25. Aqualung Says:

    😂🤣🤪😆🤣

    🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

  26. BakerFan Says:

If they don’t advance to the NFC championship game it is like taking your sister to the Prom, yeah you are going but does it really mean you belong there.

  27. buccintimeforchanges Says:

Tallest midgets win division get prisoned in first round of playoffs…again.

FIRE EVERYONE! No more midget football. Jason Licht is THE problem.

WInning this division is a joke and MEANINGLESS

  28. Jordan Says:

Hardly an endorsement from Seth Wilder…he simply plugged all the matchups into a simulator and randomly went with simulation # 5,002…

But hey, if you believe in lucky no. 5,002, book your tickets now for the NFC Championship Game.

  29. mj Says:

how are we going to beat the panthers on the road when we couldn’t beat the saints or falcons at home? our defense can’t stop anyone and baker is throwing pics in the fourth quarter

  30. heyjude Says:

mj – It can happen. You never know. The Bucs know how important this is. Optimistically, looking for 3 wins, but 2 wins will be okay if everything else falls into place. They can do this. Go Bucs!

  31. Jordan Says:

A sack falls under a TFL, he’s just bunching them together…so, yes, Bucs rank 6th

  32. Jordan Says:

Please dismiss last post, meant for other message board

  33. Aqualung Says:
