(Regular) Season Over For Ben Bredeson

December 9th, 2025

Headed to IR.

Ben Bredeson’s (regular) season is done. That’s the news coming out of One Buc Palace today.

This morning the Bucs placed Bredeson on injured reserve. That means Bredeson must sit out a minimum of four games.

With just four games left in the regular season, that means Bredeson is done for 2025. The next time Bredeson would be eligible to play would be in the first round of the playoffs. If the Bucs make the playoffs.

If the Bucs don’t make the playoffs, Bucs fans won’t see Bredeson (hopefully) until September. That’s Joe’s hope because Joe never wants to see a Bucs starter in a worthless preseason game.

Bredeson blew his knee out in Sunday’s galling loss to the slimy Saints.

I’m guessing they’re going to use that roster spot for JPP.

  7. Bucsfan2023 Says:

What’s the game plan Grizzard? The depth chart for the offensive line is not good:
TE Cade Otten Q Payne Durham Devin Culp
LT Tristan Q (might be out a few more games) Ben Chukwuma
    LG Luke Haggard Elijah Klein
    C Graham Barton
    RG Dan Freeny Mike Jordan
RT Luke Goedeke Charlie Heck (Goedeke was wearing the huge bubble over his helmet – Concussion?

Looks like the rest of the season might be very short passes every down

  8. RagingBrisket Says:

Sounds like the season has been over since the bye week for everyone

Regular Seaon Over For the Bucs…

Hey Joe – fixed that headline for ya…

    LOL!!!

Hey Glazer boys – please flush this toilet.

  10. Marine Buc Says:

    *Season… lol

  11. Fred Says:

No worries. Todd has all the answers.

  12. ocala Says:

None of it matters with Todd Bowles coaching this team. What a horrific decision to keep him and letting Liam Coen go.

    Whats new????

  14. Marine Buc Says:

    @ First Last

“Maybe put Chukwuma at left guard, he looked good I thought”

    You are not wrong.

I like Chukwuma as well… Not sure if he can play guard but he can’t be worse than Feeney (PFF grade – 48). One of the worst guards in the NFL graded.

  15. Toilet bowl Says:

Where are all the Todd Bowel lovers??? Idiots.

  16. SB~LV Says:

You do understand that cap wise this team was budgeted for going DEEP into the playoffs.
That means that they are now going into the 2026 top heavy with players a year older and maybe not worth what they cost vs what they bring to the table.
And underperforming younger players given top money and underperforming should be leaned on HARD to restructure with cap friendly new deals.
We are not in a rebuilding mode but certainly slipped a few ratchets down from what this season was expected to be.
Father Time is eating on our favorite players

  17. TheVerv7 Says:

The fact Licht and Glazers extended Bowles and let Coen leave shows how totally complacent and/or incompetent they truly are. They dropped the ball and just set this team back several years

  18. Bojim Says:

    What a year.

Can we start talking draft yet? I fear for my TV’s life this Thursday

“Where are all the Todd Bowel lovers??? Idiots.”

They are in Mom’s basement crafting their naked mannequins of TB zero.

Remember when they said that 12 wins was the floor???!!! Hahahahaha

    Fire Bowles now!!!

  21. Bucsalltheway Says:

Problem is Coen doesn’t coach defense that is where the biggest issue is…our team just flat out sucks right now until we get more leaders back in the huddle…sacks is one thing but not getting pressure is another..yall keep doing baker mayfields passing charts can we get post of the opposing qbs

  22. buccintimeforchanges Says:

Regular season is over for the whole team

JPP is a desperation move. We can easily infer that the Glazers have told Todd and Jason this is their last hurrah.

Time to go in a new direction.

The rest of the division is 71-121 since Todd became HC. FIFTY games under .500. We are the tallest midget.

    DUMP THESE LOSERS!!!!!

  23. Bucsalltheway Says:

If you can run left and pass to the right and middle of the field effectively you can beat the bucs simple as that…all scoring plays have gone there

  24. SB~LV Says:

    Clean Sweep!

    New direction

  26. NCbucfan Says:

Here’s to hoping Kirk doesn’t become “Kirk 600” on Thursday.

  27. heyjude Says:

Horrible news. Seems like a very long road to recovery.

OneAndThree – I was one that thought we would have 11 or 12 wins before the season, and I wasn’t alone. And we are all not in a basement with mannequins. The team was looking really good early on. After the bye, not so good. It’s not Bowles fault that Ben is hurt.

ocala and TheVerve7 – Coen isn’t all that either. He had a healthier team last season and used Bucky until he wasn’t healthy. And not to forget the fibs surrounding him at the end.

Agree with First Last and Marine Buc – Chukwuma looked good. See what more he can do.

  28. Baking with Grizz Says:

    Easy investment on Thursday’s game
    Cousins passing yards:
    • Passing Yards: The over/under line has been seen around 208.5 to 223.5 yards.

  29. When is enough ENOUGH Says:

If this is not in place the NFL should have it in place. If an owner/s own more then one sports team, it should be illegal to take money out of one team and invest it in another. Who’s to say the Glazers are not taking money out of the Bucs franchise and investing in their International soccer team Manchester United.

  30. 813bucboi Says:

Chukwuma looked good at LT….i think he’d look even better with wirfs next to him..

    Chukwuma-LT
    Wirfs-LG
    Barton-C
    MJ-RG
    Luke-RT

    GO BUCS!!!!

  31. jw94buc Says:

That just tells me they will keep Bowles another year and blame injuries..

Put your savior TB zero in any other division and he would have been fired in year two.

We’re now in year four and starring down the barrel of losing a division that collectively has a 21 – 31 record at the current moment.

Is that good enough for you? Do you relize we are the shortest midget?

And let’s not forget the TB playoff record. 1 – 3.

  34. SB~LV Says:

    Injuries…
    It’s not the W-L record!
    .
    IT IS HOW THEY PLAYED!

  35. ModHairKen Says:

Someone said heading towards 7–10. I agree. These losers can’t win another game because they are quitters and they don’t care.

A few on defense got big contracts and have decided to mail it in. They don’t want to take hits anymore. The abhorrent sloppy tackling proves this.

One point Joe made in the article was that he doesn’t want to see Bredeson in a worthless preseason game.

After all these injuries this year and the fact that all the starters seem to sit the entire preseason, I’m beginning to wonder if maybe the preseason games aren’t important for getting guys in playing shape.

  36. heyjude Says:

OneAndThree – I get it. Staying loyal to the team doesn’t always have good benefits. However, it isn’t all on Todd. A lot of blame to go around along with Jason, the Special Teams coach, some players, … And unfortunately, they also got rid of Dungy and Gruden for less. But that was the Glazers dad at the time, not the sons. Things seem to be a lot different now. Jason and Todd were extended.

Also, look at Mike Tomlin. Rumblings with him too after many years as a Steelers coach. Mike McDaniels. What if the Bill don’t make it to the SB again. McDermott could be looking at a change.

You can bet if Todd and Jason are let out of their extended contracts, another team will pick them up. The same with Mike Tomlin, McDaniels, and others.

My fear is who would we get. Unless it is someone like Kubiak and Shula we all could be looking at another 3 to 5 years for a rebuild.

  37. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

  38. garbs65 Says:

I’ve been a Bowles supporter. However, I think it is time for him to go. However, I also don’t believe the Glazers will get rid of him. Too many injuries this season gives him leverage, so to speak. And, Licht is responsible for getting him players, right? He has who he has on defense, and they are not up to the task. LB’s are too slow, DL can’t get pressure and the DB’s are better, but not great. At least not in the scheme Bowles runs…whatever it is. I’d like to start over. ME is gone after this year. Our OL should be good if we can get everyone healthy. Offense is good…but we need a bunch of new guys on defense. Not sure it can be fixed in one off-season. Probably need 2 more drafts. Our FA signings seem to fall flat. Let’s just start anew in 26…..

  39. OneAndThree Says:

“You can bet if Todd and Jason are let out of their extended contracts, another team will pick them up.”

Please name me one, just one team that would look at the body of work Todd Bowles has put together and think, yeah I need to be a sub 500 team that narrowly makes the postseason in the worst division and is 1-3 in the playoffs.

Answer: There is no team that wants that. Even the Glazers did not want that.

They were forced into it by BA. That’s why he waited so long to retire.

He wanted Todd to have TB12 as the QB so he could succeed. Major fail.

This guy does nothing but fail upwards. Thanks to the Rooney rule.

“JPP is a desperation move. We can easily infer that the Glazers have told Todd and Jason this is their last hurrah.”

    That’s stupid.

Todd? Sure. But part of the deal with hiring Arians was that he could pass the job to Bowles.

If they fire Jason Licht they are incredible stupid.

  42. heyjude Says:

OneAndThree – Let’s see what happens in the months ahead. The situation is fluid. I am saddened that you quickly go to the Rooney Rule. That’s just wrong and wasn’t why he was hired as HC. He is well-know for his blitzes.

If a change happens, Todd could end up going back to the Jets and take Baker with him. You never know. Also, Todd was added to the NFL Competition Committee in 2024. He has made a great name for himself across the league. If not coaching, he could be doing something else in the league. He’s a solid person and does deserve something of value. It isn’t all his fault.

  43. OneAndThree Says:

    heyjude says:

“Todd could end up going back to the Jets and take Baker with him.”

They would have to put nets on the bridges in NY if that happened.

People would throw themselves into the rivers if forced to watch Bowles again.

Keep arguing for your limitations and that’s all you’ll be left with.

  44. Kenton Smith Says:

Losing Bredeson. This offensive line has sure been snakebit this year. I mean we’ve not had any continuity with the offense and defensively we’ve had a problem on all three levels. With talent. And some injuries sprinkled in. Special teams haven’t been so special. Amazing we control our destiny this late in the season. Remember while everyone has been kicking this dog while it’s down that the season isn’t over. There is still a chance, albeit a small chance, that we finish strong. I’ve had my fill of Bowles and Baker this last 6 weeks. But I’ve seen enough of them to know that I wouldn’t be surprised if we finish this year strong. Unlikely. But certainly possible. Go Bucs!!

  45. rocket Says:

Linemen getting their legs twisted and injured on a regular basis. Why, because they aren’t strong enough to control the line of scrimmage and are constantly getting bushed back. Our O-line is not power enough to control the line of scrimmage. Of course Licht wants to show how smart he is by drafting small school guys and turning them into adequate offensive linemen … who eventually get trampled by bigger and more powerful defensive linemen from Power 4 programs.

  46. Kenton Smith Says:

    rocket. Bredeson played at Michigan.
