Propping Up Saints To Relieve The Pain
December 8th, 2025
Bucs coach Todd Bowles stands in the rain watching his defense get torn up Sunday.
Look, the slimy Saints are an awful team. The Bucs raked them over the coals a little over a month ago in New Orleans.
The slimy Saints have a rookie quarterback. If they played their cards right, they’d likely land quarterback Fernando Mendoza in the draft. They had zero reason to win, yet they slapped the Bucs around.
Afterwards, Bucs coach Todd Bowles tried to make people think the slimy Saints are the 2002 Bucs.
“It’s a division game; they always play us tough,” Bowles said. “I said that all week. We don’t look at records, we play division games — they know us and we know them. We had plenty of chances to make plays – coaching-wise, offensively, defensively and special teams; definitely player-wise, offensive, defense and special teams. We had situations come up where we didn’t make any plays, we could’ve made better calls, there’s a myriad of things that could’ve happened that we lost this ball game. [It] doesn’t matter if this team was 12-0 or 0-12, it’s the NFL, you [have] to show up and play and make plays or the other team is going to beat you.
“Our biggest thing is: we can’t let one loss turn into two, because we [have] to turn around and play Thursday, and we [have] to come to work tomorrow — as bitter taste as this is and it’s very bitter for me and everybody else, we [have] to turn around tomorrow [and] not let one loss turn into two.”
Well, Joe has no faith the Bucs can beat the Dixie Chicks on Thursday. First, the Bucs are playing a primetime game. We know how Bowles’ Bucs teams way more often than not blow chunks in primetime games.
And besides, the Dixie Chicks have Kirk “509” Cousins, who absolutely lit up Bowles’ defense last year for 509 yards passing.
Joe keeps hearing people say Cousins is washed. You watch: he will rise from the dead on Thursday night. Cousins was playing terrible last year, too, and got benched. But he still found a way to roast Bowles’ defense for 509 yards.
Joe thinks there isn’t any fixing this Bucs defense in December. If Bowles knew how to fix the defense, he would have done so a month ago.
For whatever reason, the message isn’t getting through to guys, or at least enough guys to make a difference. Not sure how you fix that in December.

2/7 on 4th and drops lost them the game, the chiefs just lost the same way its a backbreaker.saying that i do think they win IF they arent checked out yet. such an ugly loss and the collapse of the decade is a reality if thursday is a loss.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:06 am
and yes the defense cant tackle im aware
December 8th, 2025 at 12:07 am
The Bucs look like a 3-10 team that just got lucky in 4 squeakers early on.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:08 am
Yo Joe
Looks like the early picks of JTS, Braswell, and Hall are starting to catch up to this team.
We passed on Sheduer Sanders 4 times in the draft smh he was worthy of our first rounder
Thanks a lot Jason LIGHT next time don’t focus on Lil Caesar’s pizza being our sponsor and put together and in season trade for once
December 8th, 2025 at 12:10 am
What’s next? We can’t turn 1 win into 2.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:12 am
Bucs did not show up. Bowles doesn’t have an answer and I agree that our defense against cousins could be UGLY. Our offense is struggling with Baker (likely hurt more than we know) and Grizzard’s play calling. Injuries suck but need to overcome but how can you when coaching is an issue. I try to be positive but I’m a realist. I hope for them to win but I don’t see Bucs making playoffs and if they do they are not going far. If they only win 2 games I dont see how Bowles keeps his job.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:17 am
STAT OF THE DAY – Since Bowles took over as HC the rest of our division is 71-121 overall. We’re the tallest midget. 71-121! The other teams have down right sucked for years.
Time to rid OBP of all the dinosaurs…Arians, Bowles, Licht…clean it out.
That ERA is gonzo. Embrace a change. It will be ok.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:19 am
It’s his system. Other coaches know how to beat it. He obviously doesn’t know what’s wrong so he can’t fix it. The game passed him.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:21 am
Bowles is soft as charmin
December 8th, 2025 at 12:31 am
@BucsChamp
More like Angel Soft or like 50 cent said about being soft in the middle like a pop tart.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:38 am
He gone.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:42 am
“we can’t let one loss turn into two”
We are 1-4 since the bye week.
This is how out of touch Todd is.
December 8th, 2025 at 1:15 am
Hopefully the sand in the hourglass of Bowels time with the Bucs is about out!
Go after a gifted OC to be Bucs next HC…
Salvage what they can of the young talent on this team and restructure!
December 8th, 2025 at 1:21 am
Todd has to be held accountable for allowing the team to be in such disarray. His defense is putrid, his special teams are garbage, his O is riddled with injuries with an OC who has been exposed. Prediction, Bucs and Falcons will be competing for the same head coaching prospects. Hopefully it will be someone who is offense oriented.
December 8th, 2025 at 1:21 am
Gruden
December 8th, 2025 at 1:31 am
After we lose the next four games then perhaps Glazers will be ready for change, I know I am ready. Lets discuss our options for new head coach.
December 8th, 2025 at 1:41 am
Need to look at Clint Kubiak for next HC/OC and grab a hell of an experienced DC that’s aggressive….
Definitely agree that the next HC needs to be an OFFENSIVE specialist and not defense….
December 8th, 2025 at 1:44 am
If the Vikings let loose of Kevin O’Connell, I’d grab him.
He’s superb with the offensive scripts but he just has a bad QB to work with now…JJ McCarthy way overrated!!
December 8th, 2025 at 2:11 am
Good ole Bowlzo. Our Sideline Stiff. He is an excuse Guru.He will get his 50….percent that is. His fave part of the game is Half Time. His fave number is 2 cuz if you divide by 2 you always get half of what you started with. His defense looked like a bunch of crazy people running around wondering where to go. We must hope Seattle whips the Panters to help us.
December 8th, 2025 at 2:21 am
Where is that guy who told all the “Bowles Haters” to go away.
December 8th, 2025 at 2:37 am
I’d love us to hire Gruden, it would suck and we’d be back to the decade of despair but at least it’d shut a few people up who keep calling his name.
December 8th, 2025 at 2:38 am
Should call him 8008–he was the only qb in history throw for 800 yards and 8 tds against one team in an football season
December 8th, 2025 at 2:53 am
For one thing: Gruden was way way better than Bowlzo, not that I want him back. Look, man, it’s just plain old time for a complete rebuild. This team sux.
December 8th, 2025 at 2:58 am
“It’s a division game; they always play us tough,” Bowles said. “I said that all week.”
————-
Wait, he said that all week? Because that’s what I said. Are we sure Todd isn’t trolling the comments here?
December 8th, 2025 at 2:58 am
This whole team stinks.
December 8th, 2025 at 3:00 am
Baker had to call a timeout when Tjohhnson was on the wrong side of the formation, Kjohnson stopped on a dig route and the dude intercepted it, 8 covered the wrong guy on one big play then ran the wrong gap on the qb run first drive, vonte (oh no) took the wrong angle on the other qb run then oilskinned a tackle in the rb on another. And where tf were nelson and that hayes guy on that ko, and parrish had no idea where he was goin on it
December 8th, 2025 at 3:00 am
You can only use the execution card so long as a coach when you are being paid to be in charge of that
December 8th, 2025 at 3:01 am
Todd, repeat after me: learn this phrase: do you want fries with that?
December 8th, 2025 at 3:06 am
Vea and nelson both had the rookie dead on the last, egbukah in endzone wtf, Tucker’s first play he had the rush mlb in pass pro and whiffed
December 8th, 2025 at 3:12 am
Also Godin bobbling the 2 yard pass out of bounds … everyone took their turn … Outside of the 32 yarder Bucky gained 1.4 per carry
December 8th, 2025 at 3:13 am
LJ – And with all that said, Baker had the ball in his hands with 2 minutes left, against a bad team, 1st place in the NFC South on the line, and he went 4 and out.
People can whine about the rest of the game as much as they want, but simple fact is the game came down to Baker having a chance to win it, and he flopped.
He’s got to now beat the Panthers twice, then win vs the Falcons or Dolphins, and the Bucs are in. Saying the defense needs to allow less than 20 points a game to win is ridiculous for a team built to win on offense.
December 8th, 2025 at 3:22 am
Ok,so…I think Toad is not a great coach and I would like to upgrade there. However, I keep seeing ppl say to bring back Gruden. He’s in my top 5 dudes I’d love to have a beer with, but he is a .500 coach that has proven for 15 years that he is horrible at developing talent. If we’re bringing back any former coach it should be Arians
December 8th, 2025 at 3:39 am
The Bucs played so flat. The D is just atrocious. When I saw Reddick trying to cover a back on an out route in the first drive I knew we were in for a looooong day. Who does that? Is there anyone on earth thinking Reddick is going to cover a running back? And it’s not his fault. He’s 6’1” and 240lbs coming off an ankle injury. If having Reddick covering was masking some amazing blitz that would be one thing but there was no pressure from a blitz either so … I just don’t get it?
This season was such a waste and I really was hoping for a different outcome. As soon as I saw MacMillan go down so needlessly to get Teddy Bridgewater reps? Thats just … I mean…Teddy Bridgewater? Thats your best move? Teddy Bridgewater. His best season QBR was in the high 50’s? For God’s sake you probably could have gotten Jameis from the Giants for an old clipboard and a bag of stale nachos.
December 8th, 2025 at 3:40 am
You don’t like a 122 bagger passing against the worst team in the league?? Something is wrong with him, assume it’s that shoulder
December 8th, 2025 at 5:26 am
Season was doomed when our great ever hope was a small school undersized 4th round pick who suffered an injury on day two then the brilliant idea to have Wirfs wait on FREAKING knee surgery till training camp just stupidity all around
December 8th, 2025 at 5:27 am
Great edge hope I meant
December 8th, 2025 at 6:29 am
The players have quit. One coaches. On themselves. No leaders have emerged.
David is a fossil. Egbuka is a rookie. Zyon is bored. Reddick is done. Diaby and SVD never were. Every player on Sprcial Teams is a ham and egger.
I don’t recall anyone quitting on Dungy or Gruden. Or even Arians, who is the reason Bowles is coach.
Quitters.
And Munchkin is wrong. Sweep Carolina is all they need to get in. Even if they lose this week and to the Dolphins.
But who believes they will sweep Carolina? The players certainly don’t. They look like pro prospects being asked to play in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl in Shreveport.
Yes. Time to clean house. Just like Gruden did when he took over. 20% change in roster and new Coach led to Super Bowl.
December 8th, 2025 at 6:37 am
Hey Todd Bowles!!! Go F yourself you bum.
December 8th, 2025 at 6:41 am
Can u imagine how utterly pathetic the Glazers look like right now after extending Bowles and Licht for no reason whatsoever? This entire organization is an embarrassment.
December 8th, 2025 at 8:23 am
Bad team or not, The Saints whipped ourt A,,,, period. We are a 500 team. It would be a lot more if we had help from our sorry Defense. Joe, We kinda suck overall. Feel sorry for our Offense.
December 8th, 2025 at 8:24 am
If Raheem wants to mess with Bowles head, he should bring Trask up from the practice squad. Wait till Cousins has over 400 yds, then put Trask in. Even an unproven QB can beat this Bucs mess.
Or… start the game with Trask, then let Cousins mop up.
December 8th, 2025 at 8:52 am
Todd Bowles is correct about division games. They are different. They always have been. It’s as if most of you forgot how badly the Bucs lost to the Saints during the 2020 season. The Saints were +8.5 yesterday which was absurd. That was an easy bet for me. Unfortunately for me the Ravens blew up my 5 leg parlay.
December 8th, 2025 at 9:04 am
Seems every team is in the bucs division with that kinda logic the bucs are just a bad team end of story when the entire league plays you tough maybe you are just not good.
