Chris Godwin Is Real With Fans

Chris Godwin is the ultimate pro, both on and off the field.
After the slimy Saints may have punctured the Bucs’ playoff hopes, Godwin stood in front of his locker and spoke realtalk. He made no excuses and didn’t try to con anyone.
The Bucs played lousy, Godwin said.
“We didn’t play well enough, top to bottom, on any side of the ball to win” Godwin said.”[New Orleans] came and they played better than we didn’t [for] a large portion of the game.”
Godwin sure didn’t want to hear anyone use the rain as some lame rationale for the loss.
“They were playing in the same weather as we were and they found a way to get a victory,” Godwin said.
To hear Godwin speak, it almost seemed like Godwin fears after a loss like today’s, the teams might splinter.
“We just have to stay together,” Godwin said. “We have a great bunch of guys in here [locker room]. Talented, experienced guys. But we just have to come together and figure out exactly what went wrong and correct it.”
Joe knows how to correct it: Play defense, first. Second, defend kickoffs. Third, tell your offensive coordinator the team needs to go forward, not sideways.
Joe guesses if there is a good thing about today’s loss, it’s that the Bucs won’t have time to dwell on it.

CG is a good guy – but he should have taken the money in NE. Financially it was the smarter move. Now he has to figure out how to make up those lost millions w a younger him (EE2) on the same team. It’s cool he wanted to stay here – but not wise financially. That’s why I’ll never knock a player for taking the money! That move cost his family millions!

The Special Teams coverage and the Pass Defense is the reason this team is mediocre at best. WE just can’t get off the field when it’s needed the most and the Pass Rush is non-existent and every QB has their best game vs. Bucs. When are we going to wake up to what the problems are here? We’re not going anywhere this year. This Team and coach have hit their ceiling. Time for a new thought process with an Offensive minded Head coach and a real Defensive Coordinator.

This team is a circular firing squad. Each segment plays to their coaches abilities (offense, defense and special teams) and those coaches report to their head. Their head is Todd Bowles. Needless to remind everyone, the season has been bad. Either the Bucs lied to the fans and themselves or the make up of this team sucked. Todd is 13 games under 500 as a head coach. I have no idea why he is still the head coach. He’s an embarrassment to the fans and more importantly to the owners. He’s reached his ceiling as a coach and the proof is losing to a two win team at home. It’s time to clean house starting with Jason, Todd and the sorry group Todd’s brought in here to coach.

The stupid screens. They ran the same misdirection so many times it was clear who was getting the ball. Baker was molested all day. The WR quit on the pick. Egbuka dropped a TD. Otton is stupid and missed a 1st down because he is clueless.
Special Teams was again abhorrent.
I’ve never seen more quitters on this Bucs team to a this year. Almost all on Defense.
And Lavonte David is now just an average player. Not his fault. It’s just time.
Bowles is a good man. Players like him. But they don’t apparently respond to him.
Time to make a change. After the season. Even if they make the playoffs.
This team needs two new LBs. Two new Edge. New S and CB. New Gs. At least 10 new players.
And a coach that players respect and fear.

Godwin as sitting on the sideline, open, waiting for the ball and Baker was late getting it there, and the defender was able to recover and hit Godwin and knock the ball out. You want Godwin to make that catch, but people acting like he dropped it, you’re an idiot and that’s not what happened.

Great talent, absolutely! Good coaching, absolutely not! CG is a good dude and I get what he is saying, but you aren’t calling the plays and managing the team my friend. Time for accountability and the FO needs to do something now! If JL is not raining holy hell down on Bowles right now then he needs to go to! No more excuses, no more chances! I know if you worked for me and gave me the lame excuses I hear after every loss you would gone! You make too much damn money to produce nothing more than the hot garbage you all put out on that field right now!

Licht overpaid for Godwin. Yes, we all love him, but he ain’t worth 20+ million after those 2 devastating injuries. I knew it. Many knew it, but Licht overpaid because he would have received a better contract in NE? Let him walk then!

Chris Godwin has about $22 million reasons fully guaranteed to be on this team next season. So there is zero chance he just decides to walk away and retire. There is just as much of a chance the Bucs decide to cut him. Again, zero.

I love my Bucs. Have since 1976. But, for the first time, I want us to lose. This is because I want the Glazers to see the totality of the incompetence of the HC. Winning a division title will cloud the view and cover the ineptitude of this coaching staff.
One sign of horrible coaching is not being able to fix problems. First, Bowles and his staff have been unable to correct the problems on special team. Too many times, teams have started the game or a drive in our territory because of bad special teams coaching.
Second, Bowles is said to be a defensive coach so the strength of the team should be the defense. Consider the studs we have on the defensive side of the ball: Winfield, Dean, McCullum, Vea, Diaby, Idzien, Smith, Parrish, Kinda David, Nelson, Roberts and a lot of other decent players. Yet, every week this defense is a sieve! Bad teams move effortlessly down the field and score against us. Defensive ends are required to cover running backs down the field. Stunts are called leaving outside lanes open allowing QB’s to run into the end zone untouched. OMG!! What else can I say?
All I can say is that this blog, us are the heartbeat of Bucs fandom. We need to unite in writing letters to 1 Buc Place. In Boycotting games, in affecting the bottom line until we get a change at HC. Joe! You need to organize a Fire Bowles campaign. What can we do.
I don’t want us to be like Tomlin and the Steelers for the next 20 years. Coach surviving because he makes the playoffs..
