Morning Cup Of Joe

November 19th, 2025

Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.

Distraction of the Day

Cam Skattebo tells folks to keep his name out of their mouths unless they know use their tongue. [PFT]

Why was Shedeur Sanders so bad? [CBS]

Abdul Carter, who has the early scent of a bust, claims he did no wrong. And this dude had the gall to want Lawrence Taylor’s number. Slow your roll, kid. Respect your elders. At least when LT blew off meetings, he still killed quarterbacks. Right now you’re just a high-priced Joe Tryon-Shoyinka with an over-inflated ego. [Yahoo!]

Is there a more overrated coach in football than Chip Kelly? What has he done since he had runaround quarterback Marcus Mariota running some gimmick offense? Kelly sucked in the NFL. Ruined the Eagles. Blew chunks with the 49ers. Quit on UCLA. Any two-bit high school coach could have won with the talent he had at Ohio State. Now he’s getting paid $6 million a year to have the 31st ranked offense. How is he developing Ashton Jeanty? Before Jeanty stepped foot in Las Vegas, Kelly was talking about changing the kid’s running style. Why? The best running back in college wasn’t good enough for you? What a fraud this Kelly is. [NFL]

Nice catch. [TikTok]

Is Baker Mayfield’s candidacy for MVP DOA? [SI]

What is it with New York NFL players and their attitudes. First Keon Coleman sleeps through a team meeting. Now Abdul Carter sleeps through a walk-through. Who do these guys think they are, Josh Freeman? [Awful Announcing]

Congress wants leagues to ramp up their gambling security. [Front Office Sports]

Who was that Georgia girl? [Outkick]

Hole in the floor. [TikTok]

Looking at the standings and reading the SI article; where is Bo Nix? He could be in the running too. It seems as though Allen and Stafford are over-rated every season. Surprisingly, Patrick Mahomes is now out of the discussion. Next, they will have Cousins on the list. I want Baker to be MVP. We are so lucky to have him. Baker was on fire this past Sunday along with other players, and unfortunately it wasn’t enough. He deserves much more and hopefully we don’t lose him to another team.

Still thinking Sanders has it in him. Browns was not the team for him and they may see a shake-up at the end of the season. There are a few teams that will be looking for new coaches and he could land elsewhere. Thinking the Raiders.

Showing up late for meetings, falling asleep in walk-through, … These guys make millions and Carter is probably not alone with these types of actions. No accountability doesn’t look good for their coach, GM, … either. Who’s in charge?

Keon Coleman really messed up because if he was active versus the Bucs he would have had a career day and Tyrell Shaver put in a career day instead.
