Bucky Irving, Chris Godwin, Ben Bredeson Ruled Out Against Bills

November 14th, 2025

Out.

Todd Bowles was upbeat about the work two of his star weapons got in practice this week, but they won’t be playing Sunday.

Bowles told Joe and assembled media today at One Buc Palace that Bucky Irving (ankle/shoulder) and Chris Godwin (fibula) will not play in Buffalo. He praised their work this week in practice and sounded uplifted, noting their progress was “very good” and each is going through a process to return.

Also out for Sunday, no surprise, is left guard Ben Bredeson (hamstring). He got injured early Sunday against the Patriots.

Bowles said all other players will be good to go, even if they were limited in practice this week, including safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (foot) and Vita Vea (back).

We all know the Bucs are going to put up a fight and make it a game but an unlikely W with the 75% rain and 40 degree weather.

  2. Nicholas Carlson Says:

Let’s go make it hard on the Bills and maybe do something special

  3. Whatevs Says:

    Oh my god.

This is going to be a slaughter.

Granted the Bills do not have a great coach either.

  4. johnnythemoon Says:

More Tucker Please ! I like White but hesitation is back and not hitting the holes like Cohen preached last season .

  5. Alanbucsfan Says:

If Mayfield makes good decisions and finds the OPEN receivers, Bucs should score 30 points.
The D needs to contain Allen and Cook.

  6. BUC4L Says:

Time to really impose Sean Tucker. We need to run the ball more and I would recommend giving him more carries. That all being said I think it’s smart to not rush anyone back with game conditions like what they will see in Buffalo. Go play loose football and punch the Bills in the mouth. I want to see all phases play well for the Bucs and please no more injuries! Go Bucs!

  7. unbelievable Says:

    LOL!

I told y’all on the last article that Bucky wasn’t coming back yet. And I don’t think Godwin is back til December at the earliest.

  8. ElioT Says:

    Great news

  9. FootBall1 Says:

I thought the writing was on the wall about Bucky when Bowles said he needed to take a full hit, but they were only doing walk throughs for practice. Godwin, well we knew he was not playing. I just hope for Godwin he can make it back and does not have to retire. However, with little news from the Bucs reguarding Godwin, this is sounding very similar to Jensen. I hope I am off but, Godwin it sounds like he may be done. Definately unfortunate for Godwin, hate to see it. However for him and Bucky if the rest works well so be it, that is the best for both of them
The game Sunday, a win seems really unlikely next week either.
Let’s hope th Bucs don’t get blown out this week and next. I think this season is done . These injuries just too much to overcome. Presently the defense isn’t all that, injuries there too I suppose, but last week was a dismal showing for the defense

  10. BucsFan81 Says:

They are saving Bucky and Godwin return for Sunday night football next week against the Rams. More important conference game.

  11. Redzone Says:

Agreed run Tucker over and over – sprinkle in White draws and screens, run end around, jet sweeps, wildcat if need be

If we throw it more than 25x we lose

  12. White Tiger Says:

Yep, sounds like Bucky is maybe being readied for the Rams game (hopefully CG as well, but we’ll see).

Also looks like we’ll see a lot more of Tucker, looks like his type of game. Maybe he’ll have an opportunity to show what he did against the Saints last season.

  13. Rod Munch Says:

    Unbelievable.

Is there anyone asking the coach about how they screwed up the return timeline so badly and didn’t put Bucky and Godwin on IR? If it was the medical people giving such bad information on timelines, there needs to be some people getting fired. If it was the team ignoring the docs.

Yeah, what you want to do is have Tucker on the field pass blocking for Baker to make sure he’s crippled. Oh wait, we don’t want that.

Also there’s the fact Tucker isn’t actually anything impressive as a runner.

  15. 813BUCBOI Says:

    encouraging news!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  16. Kgh4life Says:

More than likely and Bucky is back against the Rams

  17. SenileSenior Says:

The Bills have the same record as we have, I.e. 6-3. This could/should mean that we are evenly matched. We are in the same tier as several other teams. Should we lose the next two games we will suddenly become a 6-5 team. This speaks for itself.

We can beat Buffalo. Now let’s do it.

    Go Bucs!!

  18. johnnythemoon Says:

If Godwin was done they would put him on IR and not allow him to practice and run plays .

  19. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“If we throw it more than 25x we lose”

Sad fact, we are 1-9 since ’23 when we throw >40 times.

Not shocked by Bucky not playing, more shocked by fans thinking he would play with the coaching saying he needs to take contact as a durability check. NO bueno

  20. LakelandSteve Says:

The Bucs have to be able to run the ball in the weather if they hope to win

  21. BucU Says:

Both guards will be backup’s and Barton hasn’t been lighting it up at center.
I’m probably more pessimistic about our relatively healthy defense keeping Josh and cook in check. One sack against Maye was pretty weak.

  22. ChiBuc Says:

This would a good week, with bredesen out, for Wirfs to regain his all WORLD status. CG n Bucky, what’s new?!

  23. Carlitin1988 Says:

is it just me or does the NFL and particularly the bucs run the RB screen less and less

  24. Defense Rules Says:

Miami gave us the model on how to beat Buffalo.

o Dolphins ran on 60.4% of their plays … 32 runs for 197 yards (6.2 YPC) & 2 TDs. Significantly, SIX of those runs (5 by RB Achane) were explosive & went for 154 yards (15, 14, 18, 13, 59, 35) & THREE TDs. The other 26 runs totaled 43 yds (1.7 YPC average).

o Dolphins passed sparingly … 21 passes with 15 complete (71.4%) for 173 yards, 2 TDs but 2 INTs (both deep). Tua threw deep on only 5 passes … 2 complete for 62 yds & 1 TD, and 2 were intercepted.

o Dolphins defense did a good job of controlling James Cook & Josh Allen in the Run Game … Bills had 22 runs totaling 87 yds (4.0 YPC) but 0 TDs.

o Dolphins defense wasn’t all that effective halting the Bills Pass Game though … Allen completed 28 of 40 passes (70.0%) for 306 yds, 2 TDs & 1 INT. Because the Dolphins went up early (they were ahead 16-0 at the start of the 4th qtr), Bills went heavier on the pass to catch up. Allen threw deep a LOT … 14 deep passes with 6 complete for 143 yds & 2 TDs.

o Dolphins defense forced 2 fumbles & made 1 INT, winning the Turnover Battle 3-2. THAT was critical, because it killed 2 of the 5 Bills comeback drives in the 2nd half. Dolphins offense scored 10 points off of those 3 turnovers, while the Bills scored none off of the 2 Dolphin turnovers.

There’s nothing magic about beating the Bills. Get up on them early, control their Run Game (don’t allow any explosive runs), and force Allen to beat you with their Passing Game. Also nice if you can win the Turnover Battle & the TOP Battle. And oh ya, Bills defense is susceptible to looong run plays, just like we’ve been. Take advantage.

  25. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Licht staying put at the trade deadline looks worse day by day.

  26. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Is there anyone asking the coach about how they screwed up the return timeline so badly and didn’t put Bucky and Godwin on IR?”

The team didn’t know about the shoulder injury, until Bucky had to get evaluated for his leg/foot. Meaning Irving was playing knowing his shoulder were about to pop out the socket and it was reported the shoulder was more severe than the foot. So, some of the onus with the time missed is on Irving himself. We don’t need him falling apart while he’s still playing

    Also,

“Yeah, what you want to do is have Tucker on the field pass blocking for Baker to make sure he’s crippled. Oh wait, we don’t want that.”

Grizzard levels of predictability here lololololol

  27. Elite Vita Says:

Perhaps the biggest victory for the Bucs this Sunday would be not to sustain additional injuries in the inclement weather expected in Orchard Park, NY!

  28. buc4evr Says:

Kind of sounds like Godwin broke his tibia based on the timeline. I would be surprised if he comes back this year, same for Evans. As far as Bucky, probably a muscle or tendon tear? Another serious long term injury. At any rate we will probably not know the extent of injuries until after the season is over.

  29. orlbucfan Says:

    Go Bucs!! 7-3!!

  30. Rod Munch Says:

Buffalo – 3rd in Passing defense.
Buffalo – 30th in Rushing defense.

    I see an opportunity….

…to catch Buffalo by surprize! They will be expecting the run, which is why we should throw it 60 times like in Detroit! It will be brilliant, they’ll never see it coming!

    ———-

He just practiced three days in a row and isn’t on IR. If he was done for the year, he’d be on IR.

Well, you’d think anyways, who knows with the jaggoffs setting the recover timetables for the team.

  32. Mike Johnson Says:

My heart tells me we need Bucky this week. I hope my Bucs surprise me come Sunday. Because I cannot see a victory in Buffalo. Maybe..the football Gods will surprise us though. I’m just not confident.

  33. Chuckys Bucs Says:

Unreal, can’t imagine how long this seasons felt for the team. Bad news after bad news. RT comes back and them boom the LG is injured.

  34. chickster Says:

    soft coach soft football team

  35. Stpetematt Says:

Tucker is about as fast as Achane. Use him like Miami used Achane and watch him fly.

  36. Kayla Says:

Another big L is a lock.

  37. itzok Says:

they are never playing again this season- and if they do they will have zero impact- i hate injured players
