Former Bucs cornerback Richard Sherman.
Some ex-player NFL analysts have inside information; some don’t.
So this one-liner intrigued Joe greatly.
Retired Bucs cornerback Richard Sherman, the former Seahawks and 49ers great, has a podcast that bears his name.
Sherman made it clear this month that he keeps in touch regularly with Bucs cornerback Jamel Dean and cornerbacks coach Kevin Ross. Sherman also had Lavonte David as a guest on his podcast last week.
So it’s very fair to say Sherman has inside information.
On his Monday show, Sherman talked about the Bucs and conspicuously reminded listeners that he’s never considered the 2025 Bucs an elite team all.
“They’ve been a top-5 team on most people’s power rankings. Not mine, not mine, I know some things,” Sherman said.
Well, Sherman didn’t say what those things are. Joe suspects they’re tied to injury information, the kind the Bucs cling to like nuclear codes.
If you see Sherman on the street, feel free to ask him what he knows.

you have to be able and at the very worse willing to run the ball…
Grizz doesnt do neither….
21 rushes for 100+ yards on a team that most said you cant run on and Grizz doesnt keep his foot on their neck and run it down their throat….no killer instinct as baker suggested….
Grizz is failing the Bucs and without his commitment to the run game we wont go far….

If he knows this is the offensive roster for the rest of the season, then this team is going nowhere fast. If that’s the case, why didn’t we at least pick up a WR. Too much money already invested?

Sherman is an enigma.
He knows the game.
But they don’t need to be Top 5 right now or ever. They just need to win games.
So enough about the rookie OC. They had that the last 2 years. Enough about the injuries. Either the players they have are good or they are not. Time will tell.
At this level, the margin between a great and mediocre player is small.
It comes down to character and charisma.
Baker, this is your time to rise above it all and will this team to win.

We know what Sherman knows. With Bowles as the HC, the bucs will be all hype and just a pretenders. And the new OC, his schemes are more for HS team than an NFL. 🤦🏻♂️

I doubt he knows anything. Bucs are not a championship team with the injuries they have. If Bucs were healthy than they would be.

No heavily guarded secrets, just not good enough at Head Coach/DC, OC and too many injuries

He prob knows that Evans, Godwin, & McMillan are all out for the season… Leaving us with what we currently have at WR. Which isn’t terrible, but also isn’t elite.

Opening drive – we push down the field and score. Then our LG goes down, we bring in a 3rd string guard – and walla- the offense turns to crap. We’re already forced to play a 2nd string guard at RG, and Luke was a bit rusty. No solid O Line = no Bueno.

We have a defense that just gave up 400+ yards. And an offensive coordinator who really doesn’t know what he’s doing. I know some things too.
This isn’t a top five team.

The Shermanator…kind of an ornery cuss.
Playing games with Dean’s contract and playing time is a bit curious. Benji Morrison looked lost against The Patriots.
We all love Godwin…but Licht might have gotten sentimental with his re-signing. Meanwhile, The Rams ( the class of the NFC ) made the shrewd moves of cutting an oft-injured Cupp and signing future Hall of Famer Devonte Adams.
Bucky was making those screens and dump offs work to perfection. Now the offense looks stagnant with a hobbled Mayfield.
It may be best to cover our eyes the next two games and return for the stretch run.

It’s injury related or coaching related.
Godwin can’t be done for the year. If he is then what are the Bucs doing letting him keep a roster spot? Makes no sense unless it is denial and buyer’s remorse.
I am not in the camp of saying Chris was a bad signing but if he doesn’t play the entire season and Evans comes back for next season… I will be heading there.
If Evans retires, then I will be happy to have a hopefully healthy running mate for Egbuka and with JMac, still a decent WR core without having to spend more high draft capital.

Anyone watching knows the Bucs are not top five in the NFC. The 6-3 record is smoke and mirrors. Good team trend up, the Bucs are trending down. You don’t give up four fifty yard plays on defense in one game if you’re halfway good. This offense can’t outscore anyone. The coaching staff is in over their heads both on offense and defense and don’t even mention special teams since it doesn’t exist.
At least visiting team fans can enjoy the weather while here for the win.

@ johnnythemoon – yeah, and they very well, easily could be 3-6. They’re not as far off as you’d like to think. LOTS of real close games. What’s their winning margin right now, through 9-games… Maybe, +12 POINTS!? I think prob around 220-points for, versus 208-points against. A very slim margin. Things are not looking so great right now, and it could get real ugly in a hurry. They BETTER clean it up and FAST, in a hurry! Sounds-like, there is some definite ‘chirping’ going on within their locker room. Sherman is obviously, real close with SEVERAL current players and Bucs FO types… Trust me, he hears sheet all the time, I’m sure. He Knows. It’s almost like, it’s some kind of warning. I warned Ol’ Bake not to do ANY of these “Kay Adams Shows” or “30for30” type of long ‘in-depth’ interviews, after he started getting all of that ‘national’ attention and MVP-talk again… ONLY just the basic regular-style, weekly interview. But, what did HE go and run to do… A HUGE in-home “30for30” style pre-game show interview (right on his couch alongside of HIS WIFE) for CBS or FOX. Barely, even 3-4 days LATER, right after I’d said that LoL. Whether it’s right or wrong, we’ve seen this same old story before, time after time. It’s just not a great look to think you have to do that, EVERY damn time you string together a great 4-5 game stretch. You’re just setting yourself UP… I mean, come on man. Wait until AFTER the season is OVER, if you wanna do all that BS. It’s nothing other than a fricking DISTRACTION💯. Just totally, unnecessary.

bowles defense hasnt this been this healthy in awhile and it is still giving up big plays routinely since cooper kupp in that playoff game that crushed hopes of a repeat. the breakdowns continue.

MelvinJunior the Chiefs could of been 4-13 last year if one score games flipped but they ended up in the SB ..First off he said they are not Elite that is PLAYERS not coaching than..Yes Baker is the only player that does interviews ..I have a feeling you were not around in 1976 or 1983-1996 …Look 6-3 is 6-3 could it turn into 6n11 sure but I am not going to hang the season on Richard Sherman’s comments a druggie who got arrested for stalking his ex..

I dont know things and still never had our Bucs as a top 5 team.
Defense is soft, no pass rush AT ALL with 4 guys and passive coverage.
Offense a lot of injuries and a 1st time playcaller.
Never understood all the hype about true contender and such.
If you watch the games even when we were winning and played good in streches during the game you did not see a team that dominates the opponent. We have not played a really good game from start to finish.
You could not see a team that can win 4 straight playoff games against really good teams. That is what I have seen so far.

I remember a story about a guy who went around telling people, “I know your secret.” He actually knew nothing, but it drove people nuts, a form of gaslighting. Peoples’ overactive curiosity and irrational fears gave cred to the simple sentence and made them victims for manipulation. Sherm just got lots of free publicity for his show by revealing nothing. If his secret source is Dean, why doesn’t Joe just go and interview him? The purpose of the season and playoffs is to reveal the elite teams and the best team. It ain’t over until it’s over, so let’s just play ball and see how it works out!

The instant reaction culture is really starting to get to me.
A month ago, everyone and their mother had us as a top 5 team. Took out the Seahawks and 49ers back to back weeks missing a lot of bodies.
We came outta the bye with a loss, as this team is one to do under Todd.
Bucs are fine. Dreams of a SB are dwindling but who knows the state of things 2 months from now.
Last year Bowles got a pass cause of injuries. Now our offense is a patchwork unit and some of you can’t stand Grizz.
Things are not great at the moment despite being 6-3 but let’s see how things shake out. Trust me, if Bowles D can’t win us a couple games and Bucs make an early exit.. I will join the chorus of discontent.

Injuries? Every team battles injuries. Thats not an acceptable reason for this type of failure.
Evans wasn’t exactly lighting it up before his injury: 14 catches for 140 yards with a long of 22.
Godwin was questionable to even make an impact this year. He wasn’t making an impact prior to his injury.
Egbuka was the emerging #1 early in the season and will be WR1 at the start of next year.
Egbuka, Sheppard, and Tez. Some teams are winning with less.
The constant failure over the last 3.5 seasons has been coaching. Disappointing regular season results with only one playoff win vs. an Eagles team that had already packed their bags.
If you’re blaming injuries, you’re not seeing the true nature of this team.

Licht knows some things, too. If Licht decided to keep all his draft picks and cap, it means this team has more holes than you might want to acknowledge. Sherman is onto something.

If they were healthy, they are absolutely one of the top three teams in the NFL and probably the best offense. What he knows is probably that there is a good chance Godwin, MacMilan, Evans, &/or Bucky might not be back this year.
