Remembering The Veterans

November 11th, 2025

Joe understands a bunch of guys (and girls?) who served our country read this here site daily.

Today, as Joe does every year on Nov. 11, Veterans Day, Joe salutes you.  Not because you read this site (though Joe certainly appreciates that a great deal) but for what you did for the rest of us.

Thank you for your service.

And for those on active duty, a warm thank you as well. Joe wishes you a safe return home someday, in one piece.

One of the Joes is a son of a man who served in the Pacific Theater in World War II and his ship blown out from under him by a kamikaze. Service men and women mean a lot to Joe.

Joe has a tradition each Veterans Day to go to either an American Legion hall or a VFW post, lay cash on the bar, and tell the bartender to buy a round of drinks. Then Joe will quickly walk out the door.

You don’t have to buy a vet any drinks, but Joe is sure if you cross paths with a vet today, offering a simple thanks would mean a lot.

Never forget.

Thank you Joe. I’m a disabled veteran of the first Gulf War. I’ve been a Bucs fan since I was 10 in 1976. Was a season ticket holder for 28 years. I enjoy reading this site many times a day. Thank you for the years of content on my Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Go Bucs

Hats off to you TD and everyone else who served. I lost my dad this year. Talked to him every day for the past few years but i always called him on Veterans Day for over forty years and thanked him for his service during the Vietnam War.
    Thank you all.

Always a beautiful tribute to our veterans, Joe. Yes, we must never forget.

Thank you Joe for always paying tribute to our brave service members who have served our Amazing country, for those who have served in the past and those still serving today. Thank you for your service.

Thanks Joes. I deeply appreciate your respect for us veterans which is one of many reasons I love your site. To my fellow veterans, enjoy today and go Bucs!

Joe, your respect for military veterans is much appreciated. According to the Pew Research Center, only about 6% of Americans have served in the military, and that number is shrinking each year as Vietnam veterans start to age out. Thanks to the small, but patriotic, select few men and women who choose to serve their country. I myself was a Devil Dog! Semper Fi and Happy Veterans Day.

Paratrooper Buc. Thanks. Nice Post. Joe, you’re awful busy I’m sure. But taking the time to have one round before you quickly walk out the door wouldn’t be a waste of time. Guaranteed.

But taking the time to have one round before you quickly walk out the door wouldn’t be a waste of time.

Oh, not bolting to be rude. Just (in Florida) those places are very smoky and Joe cannot handle the smoke at all. Also, it’s not about Joe. Sticking around kinda makes it a “Hey, look at me, I bought a round, aren’t I cool?”

Nah, it’s not about Joe. It’s about the vets.

Thank you to all who have served!

Than you Vetrans for your sacrifices on our behalf. Hope you have a fantastic day wherever and whatever you are doing today. This man is proud and grateful for your service.

Joe, gotcha. Warming up today and I’ll be on my SuperGlide taking a ride with a mind for those who can’t. Thanks and Happy Veterans Day.

  12. D-Rok Says:

Serving in the military is quite hard on the servicemembers as well as their families, so from one vet to all others I salute you and your families.

Thank you for our freedoms and liberties we all enjoy today, and may God bless America!!

    Go Bucs ! ! !

  13. D-Rok Says:

Sadly, very few people have a clue what today is about.

PS: THANK YOU kindly Joes for remembering – it means a lot.

I would never have had the balls to be in a combat situation. Props to all the Veterans who served this country, in whatever capacity. We should certainly treat all our vets in a much better fashion than we currently do.
