More Turnovers By Bucs’ Defense?

November 8th, 2025

The Bucs played lights out defense the past two games. Could that continue tomorrow?

Joe knows how much Bucs coach Todd Bowles craves takeaways. And this past summer in training camp, Bowles didn’t just make takeaways a focus. He nearly made takeaways an obsession.

To say takeaways were stressed in training camp is an understatement.

Two weeks ago when the Bucs last played, the Bucs had four takeaways of the slimy Saints, two picks and two fumble recoveries. The defense is hot.

Rich Hribar of Sharp Football Analysis points out Patriots quarterback Drake Maye also is hot — as in he’s throwing a lot of picks.

[Maye] has thrown multiple touchdowns in four straight games and in seven of his past eight.

Well, Joe is just going to say if the Bucs can get two picks tomorrow, the Bucs should be in the ballgame. Two picks and a fumble recovery? That would be even better.

Man, how cool would it be if Anthony Nelson batted a Maye pass up in the air for another can-of-corn pick-six like he had against the slimy Saints?

You can wish in one hand and **** in the other…

This is a bad match up for the Bucs.

I fear a slow start coming off the bye and the Pats jumping on them early. Hope I’m wrong.

    Go Bucs!

Why is everyone acting like the Patriots are the ‘85 Bears?

Vrabel is a jerk. No one liked him as a player. He was a sanctimonious POS. He failed miserably in TN. Now he’s in NE talking like a tough guy again.

Maye is a second year and has had a few good moments, but he has not been befuddled. He needs to get got

And the Bucs are at home.

Turnovers are huge no doubt. We know that one of the Bucs covets sacks by the OLBs more than turnovers but they are not mutually exclusive. Love how the defense has been playing lately. Hoping for more tomorrow and while I’m at it, I want an offense that takes the suddenly vaunted Patriots defense to school.

The Hribar quote Joe used talks about TDs, not picks. Or should should Joe have said, he’s NOT throwing a lot of picks? Makes no sense as written.

    Yes.
Bucs Defense will play strong on Sunday.
Rested and Focused the Defense will keep us in the game giving the offense the opportunity to win.
In 2025 the Bucs Defense has been the most consistent unit on the team and thus Sunday that will prove to be true again.
    Go Bucs
