Another “W” for Tampa Bay! The Bucs are a damn good team.
Injuries simply have not mattered to this club. The roster has been proven deep and ready to play. Well, not always the defense, but who needs defense early in a season when you can rack up 27-plus points a game?
The Bucs pumped out 20 points in the first half today and kept on rolling.
Rachaad White ran hard and the Bucs’ run game was diverse and a little creative. Sean Tucker even got a red zone carry and promptly ran it in (walked it in) from nine yards out. San Francisco was completely confused.
Baker Mayfield wasn’t razor sharp today (the bar is super high) but he spread the ball around and had a classic Mayfield moment — a 15-yard run on 3rd-and-14 (video below).
Mayfield also got drilled on his second-quarter touchdown throw to Kameron Johnson and popped right up to celebrate as officials threw a roughing-the-passer flag. (Video below.)
Tez Johnson, you get an A+ from Joe for your diving, 45-yard touchdown grab — but only a B+ on the celebration acrobatics.
For now, Joe’s not going to cry about the Emeka Egbuka hamstring injury. Hopefully, it’s not serious.
Hats off to backup cornerback Kindle Vildor for his first-quarter interception. And Joe is giving a standing ovation to Jamel Dean for his strip sack. That was the first sack of Dean’s NFL career! Maybe he should blitz more often? Joe won’t applaud Dean’s late interception on fourth down because he should have batted the ball down.
Joe hated to see stud 49ers linebacker Fred Warner’s ugly injury, but that’s football. Both teams are dealing with bad injuries.
The Bucs’ special teams covered kicks and played a solid game. Joe couldn’t wait to type that!
As for the Bucs’ defense overall, as expected, Mac Jones carved it up but it was not enough. Joe laughed when Todd Bowles said at halftime that it would help his defense if guys stopped falling down.
It’s all smiles and giggles. The Bucs are 5-1.

I gotta say. Baker has been doing exactly what I said the past 2 years of scoring every quarter. Reaching 28 points or more usually ends in a win.

A great game, little to complain about…. BUT, you applauded special teams when AGAIN huge gaffe with Vita Vea running into the punter to give them a first down. That could have cost us the game! WHY would we have Vita out there trying to block punts?!? FIRE THE SPECIAL TEAMS COACH!!

Now thatās funny. Bucs defense was carved up. 19 points. Yeah. Dean is supposed to bat down a ball instead of intercept it. Okay. You want to talk about hating on turnovers. That’s two wins that we weren’t supposed to get with all the injuries. I’m looking at what we’re doing with what we have and what we may get back and can see a world with 12-13 wins this season. They raise my blood pressure when I get to watch (nice to get to see them on the west coast), but for the win, I’ll deal with it. Can’t wait to get to see them in person for SNF against the Rams.

Hassan Reddickās pass rush caused the interception in 1st quarter & he got a sack later in the game.
S. Dennis lead the team in tackles containing McCaffery. This was Vossās best game so far this year.
Yaya had 2 sacks & several pressures.
L David looked good & provided a very timely sack.
Defense keep us in the game early while Baker was off & offense was sluggish.
Bowels Defense held them to 19 points.

Absolute ignorant, moronic football fans complaining about a defense that just gave 1 TD, held them to FGs, and under 20 points.
They had 6 sacks 2 interceptions.
I seriously do not care if the opposing QB throws for 500 yards every single game if theyāre only putting up 19 points and throwing 2 INTs & 0 TDs. I will take it every single week.
They do that, theyāll go undefeated the rest of the way because the offense can put up 30 on anyone, apparently with third stringers.

Defense is a huge part of why we’re 5-1. This year, as a opposed to last, I always think the Bucs D might make a big play on DEFENSE and repeatedly they do.
I don’t really care if Mac Jones threw for 600 yards in a half…..we friggin slam the door repeatedly on offenses in every game when it counts. Todd will get his flowers everywhere but here š
